Great review, thanks. I have the JOYO American, and after watching your other video, I decided to order UA Dream 65. Now, I am not sure, is Revival Drive compact + IR loader a better option for clean/low gain tone?
Thanks for watching! It's hard to say... If I were to just own one of them, and I was looking specifically for an amp, then I'd go with the Dream. Mostly because I like the 60s Fender sound. The Revival Drive can get you a more varied range of amp tones, but doesn't quite do the Blackface thing as well as the Dream. Obviously, the RD doubling as a killer overdrive/distortion is a huge bonus. So either direction you go is a win in my opinion.
I am recording in Logic. Thinking about Revival into Dream 65 into my interface. Already getting the Dream 65. Do you think that is overkill? Could use a different gain pedal -
Not at all! It's voiced in a very different way. So if you're using it as an amp it'll get you much more marshall-y sounds. It also works great running into the Dream for a ton of different sounds.
@@GreggStallingsProject Well the Dream will do a good job on its own getting you SRV tones. Then maybe something in the Tube Screamer realm? The Revival Drive can do it too for sure though.
Helpful & well done.
Thanks. I'm working towards this very combination.
Very, very nicely made video with huge amount of info. Thanks
Thanks for watching :)
