What can we do to address this persistent occupational segregation that clusters women in low-paying jobs? How do we enable women to participate equally in better-paying/ male-dominated professions? The World Bank Solutions for Youth Employment team turned to other World Bank teams to learn how they dealt with this challenge in their gender programs.
Powered by Women, an International Finance Corporation (IFC) program, helps renewable energy companies build the business case for gender diversity. IFC works to promote business growth, efficiency, and enhanced sustainability by supporting the private sector to ‘walk the talk’ and close gender gaps within their organization and the communities they work in.
In Part 1, we had Kate Lazarus, Senior Regional ESG Advisory Lead for Asia-Pacific at IFC, World Bank speak about the Powered by Women program to explore how gender diversity fuels sustainability and innovation in the hydropower sector.
In Part 2 of the Women in the Hydropower Sector, we have professionals from three Hydropower companies who are relentlessly working towards increasing women's participation in the Hydropower sector.
