The "most legendary" truck is arguably the 359 (or, well, the W900); the 379/389/589 have just carried on the legacy.
I can't wait to Live Stream the Peterbilt 589 and run it down the road on American Truck Simulator. EPIC! Shout out to Denton, TX & Peterbilt.

The original models need a complete overhaul since they are outdated and lack detail that recently released trucks have.
I hope we'll get it soon.
Cause the Kenworth W900 already have a tuning Pack but the Petes still doesn't.
That makes the Kenworth W900 models in the game a bit special I think.
Maybe also because of that I'm a bit more addicted to Kenworth as to Peterbilt.
This has absolutely NOTHING to do with that, first we need a reworked 389 in order to get a Tuning Pack, and tuning packs take a lot of time to be done, it took them 2 years to do the W900 one.

1972 359 Peterbilt. Extended Hood, VIP Interior. 245 inch wheel base. 1693 T.A. 425 H.P. Cat. Dana 6&4 Boxes, Dana rear ends. Peterbilt air ride suspension. The 1972 model had a 2200 Cab. Smaller front glass. Peterbilt updated the 1973 Model with a 2300 Cab. Larger front glass. The 359 was designed for the 1693 T. A. Cat. 2300 Square inch radiator for the 93 Cat. That was back in the day. Peterbilt Museum. Peterbilt 300. Is a 350 Peterbilt with a tilt hood. If memory is correct Peterbilt produced 500, 300 model Peterbilt's. 1674 Cat.. Very glad to watch this UTV concerning Petes. The 389 Peterbilt is a Beautiful Tractor. The 589 another big step for Peterbilt...Number of truck lines and independents still run the 359 Peterbilts. Thank you to Peterbilt and SCS for producing the video. Brings back a lot of forgotten memories.

I feel the 589 is a great evolution of the 389. Still keeping a lot of the look and feel on the nose of the truck but transitioning to a new more modern cab and interior. Sort of the best of both worlds. 👍👍
When I see Peterbilts on the road all I usually see of the driver is the cowboy hat. No joking though, I love my in-game Pete.

Gotta love when SCS updates the game to include truck changes IRL. It hasn't always been done, so including them now just makes the game more enjoyable and it becomes an even stronger SIM - thanks SCS!
Always good to visit Denton and Pete they are the best trucks in the world. Now lets take a look at the new trucks since today is contract signing day.

Unrelated to this video, but I recently had a dream of playing ATS and encountering a mission where you drive a pickup truck in the forest to deliver very small logs to each stop and I thought this was really in the game. It was reminiscent of the Miami Hotels Delivery Mission in 18 WoS: Convoy where you deliver to a number of hotels in a Ford Transit box van. Now, due to my dream, I wish non-semi truck vehicles were drivable like in 18 WoS: Convoy but also ownable this time.😂😂😂 They would be useful for missions requiring certain types of vehicles, scouting the map or just having fun.

2008-2024 was how long the 389 will be here. 589 will take over by the end of the year. I do prefer the old school analog gauges and dash over digital. 605hp and 2050ft/lb of torque will be the max range these have. So i think that Cummins ISX numbers.

Old school, for me, is a 86 362 cabover Peterbilt. That is what i want to see and drive. It was the truck i learned to drive in.

They need to do something about the braking in game even when u trun it down if u tap the brake it's slams on so it's hard to do it gently so hop they fix that soon
Every child? Some of us grew up when truck cabs were cereal boxes in shape in a place where sleepers weren't used. So what did we draw? Kenworth K100s, International 9600/9700/9800s, GMC Astro/Chevy Titan, Ford CLT-9000, and Peterbilt 362s as Daycabs. Never heard of Freightliners when Daimler killed off the Sterling (Formerly Ford) trucks.

This how dumb speculations start, SCS has not confirmed anything or said any date, this is how people get mad at SCS when their on speculation doesn't becomes real.

Wow the interior of the 589 looks a LOT more premium than the 579
It looks identical to 579's interior, if I'm not mistaken. Quite a bit of an upgrade if you compare it 389 though.
@@serdarservet It just has a lot more wood grain in the dash along with that nice silver on the top of the dash and the silver accents on the steering wheel.
So are you going to do anything to the 579 or is that going to get left in the dust?
They are already working on the NG 579.

The old one should get a rework after the NG model gets released (it makes sense)
I don't understand why the KW W900 is the ONLY truck that actually fits my monitors. I have every truck and none of the others fit the width. I like my side mirrors to fit the inside of my side monitors. The KW W900 fits. The others, I have spent hours trying to move the seats, the f.o.v. and it never fits. I don't get it. The width of the cabs should be similar, but apparently not.
It's not actally an issue of width. The mirrors on the W900 actually sit farther forward because of the way they are mounted to the cab. With door mounted mirrors you have to turn your head more to be able to see the mirrors, and thus in ATS you would need a much wider FOV to be able to see them without turning the camera

The LEDs we installed are not visible at all.
While it is clearly visible from a distance at 1.49, it is not visible at all at 1.50.

It’s actually quite frustrating to me that there are so many nice new trucks from every manufacturer but in ATS/ETS2 we’re mostly stuck with outdated trucks that aren’t up to par with quality standards from the latest truck models. And apparently it’s really hard to update existing models or add trucks from 2024+. I get that it’s not SCS’s fault but come on. Why don’t manufacturers want their products to be showcased more in these games?
if scs wants to make changes in the game , they must watch the new zealand semi trucks , European semi trucks and american truck both on the roads with special trailers attached to their trucks , i think one of the best countries for trucking
