These two had a special musical soul connection. Ultra rare.
They were great together.
Such great talent, I love how naturally everything just comes together with these two, i wish that they had never decided to part ways :/
Somehow, they seem to sound like much more than just 2 voices & 1 guitar.
It's as if they're somehow conjuring other voices and harmonies around theirs.
The result is heart-stoppingly, soul-searingly beautiful.
It's so great that they're getting the exposure and success that they deserve (they are now, aren't they?).
I am constantly amazed these two never made it bigger than they did. They are amazing artists and fantastic together. Tragic they broke up so soon after their formation.

@@KnockManJo Sad, but true- and labels are to blame. They don't WANT "talent", they want what they can "create" and own and control.
REAL artists will eventually want to express themselves in THEIR way and have that control, labels don't like that b/c it takes more time, makes them less money, and ultimately gives them less control over the music world.
The "we'll sue everyone into submission" dominance of all music anywhere by the RIAA shows their attitude towards customers and fans. And, frankly, it SUCKS!
This song is all of the beautiful things in the world, stored in a mason jar, shaken up, and poured out all over my soul.
Her voice is beautiful.

I guess they are still The Civil Wars. They've cut short their UK tour and said they will not be playing live anymore, citing internal differences, but have said they may still record in the future.
