Welcome to Romania. A well-kept secret in Europe, a destination not many people go to.
After a negative COVID-19 test result, @fearlessandfar and I headed out into the remote Rodna Mountains in Maramures, for a 3-day wilderness trek. We brought everything with us: our shelter, food, all the provisions we would need. We hoped to find water along the way.

Went to Romania in 1985, it was still beautiful, but hoky crxx it was grim under communist rule.

You went to Romania at the right time, because Romania did not exist before 1920. If you go there before that, you are in Hungary... 🙏😁 Between 1000 and 1920, it was called the Kingdom of Hungary. After that, it was forcibly taken from Hungary. A little history lesson. 😉

Went to live in East-Europe for 5 years after having a short road trip once (it's just so much to see and DO for MUCH CHEPAER than freaking West lol, and people are super hospitable)

I've been to Romania and really lucky to see and experience myself the beauty of the country and the hospitality of the people. Thanks to a friend. Yes i agree that so far for me this is the best eu country and i consider to be my second home. Nature is really the best God' creation and Romania has that. Good job Eva and company.

My wife is Romanian, and the country might have a million problems, but not being incredibly beautiful and full of nice people is definitely not one of them.

Me and my husband before having kids :D We did Rodnei mountains in 2 days (second longest ridge from Romania). The second day we had to hike 40 kilometers. Amazing memories :)

Romania is one of those treasures where despite it having some pretty modern big cities, like 80% of the rest of the Country lives a very old school natural life style that never really changed.

Hey! Pasta is not what you carry with you up in the mountains! Onions, bread, cheese and smoked ham or sausages is all you need. They keep, they provide a pretty balanced diet (for a short while), and they contain a lot of calories, compared to their weight. You don't need to spend a lot of time for preparation and there's no waste. And don't drink when it's cold enough to wear a padded jacket - temperatures drop quite a lot up there, and alcohol is not at all helping you to keep warm. It gives you a warm feeling a short while after you drink it, but after that you're exhausted and very vulnerable to freezing.
This video was not the type we usually expect from Eva. It was a love story, and well done ;)

I'm currently traveling with my partner and 3 small dogs all over usa and this country who I call second home is not even close to my natal country. Here in the Carpathians the nature is in it’s purest form, and drinking water from a mountain spring is a pleasure, always cold and clean 🌲🏔🏕

i`m a local i live in a moutain village in Transylvania, It`s good for us to....my house on the outside looks like it`s from the 1800`s but i manage and so are the rest of my neighbours....i mean i have 600mb down and 450mb up internet at 1350m altitude, i drive a 2004 bmw x5, have an iphone 6s, 2 laptops a ps3, yeah we are poorer than west EU or the anglosphere(usa, canda etc) but we manage, i`m happy with all that i have bro. The video is 12 mins. Even if they took 10 times the footage that's just 2 hours of recording, so they probably had just one battery.
@@jeroboam4486 Definitely more than 1 battery. They don't take up that much space. I carry 8 GoPro batteries and 6 for my mirrorless cameras.

Looks absolutely stunning there. It always rather annoys me that when people talk about other countries they speak about those countries as a political entity instead of the flora and fauna and ofcourse the people. I even notice that at my education which is all about travel. Today they looked at me with big eyes when I said I sleep in a hammock in the woods behind my home whenever I can. To my surprise there’s a lot of down to earth people there for a travel education. In my experience, anyone who can’t believe the unbelievable has not seen much of the world.

Beautiful country but the most poorest in EU and the most corrupt in EU after Bulgaria. The quality of life in Romania is very bad and the minimum age salary is very low compared to the rest of EU states
Romania is the best and it is my homecountry I don’t call it the best in the world but for me the beauty of the mountains can’t be found everywhere
