- I am a gastric bypass post-op patient who also happens to be a primary health care provider. After many years talking to and treating patients on their own weight loss surgery journeys, I decided to have surgery myself. On my channel I discuss my own challenges, successes and updates regarding the process.
Great information this week!
Thank you- hope that you found it helpful.

Such a wealth of information thanks Kaki
You are welcome- hope it helped!
Thanks Kaki. I was wondering and have noticed a lot of changes since my surgery 8.5 months ago.
You are welcome!
I'm almost 60 and I'm wondering how my hormones will be affected with wls. What changes can I expect especially being that I haven't had my period in around 10 yrs.
Great question! There are not any research studies specific to post menopausal women who have weight loss surgery, but I would anticipate other hormones such as GLP-1 and insulin being affected in the same way. There are actually three primary types of estrogen produced by female bodies, one during pregnancy, one during childbearing years and one after menopause. There is no reason to think that post-menopausal type of estrogen would not increase slightly after WLS and have some positive effect.
@kakisrnyjourney5376 ty...I had a revision to sadi from rny 2012...lost 70lbs so far but stalled at 255 for around a month now.
@@yasharahisrael5289 I know that is frustrating- hopefully your body will be done resting at that weight soon and the scale will start moving!
