Marvelous 🌲🌲🌲 thank you for that introduction : as a qlipothic practitioner it's always good seeing a more nuanced view of the topic that depart from the "sephiroth good, qliphoth evil" that unfortunately plague discourses all around the web
Came here from the Esoterica video, and I am SO SO grateful you do bespoke captions - it is eye-watering having the auto-generated captions on when Dr Sledge uses Hebrew words LOL
Thanks for the video 🌲 I enjoyed you naming out the distinction between the traditional and contemporary understandings and uses of this material. It draws attention to the fluidity between religion, mysticism, and occult practices. It highlights this peculiar tension in numinous practices surrounding the appropriation of traditional ideas and how the process of appropriation can be both theft, on the one hand, AND imaginative infusion, on the other. Dr Sledge’s companion video mentions the historical influence of “radical monism” in the formation of the Husks as a kabbalistic idea. The Qlippoth were viewed by some as an active and necessary element of the process of divine emanation. In that way, I think the appropriation of these ideas into modern occult practices reflects the existence of the Qlippoth themselves: an evil which is necessary to, and reflective of, the divine. There’s a symmetry to the idea that I find endlessly interesting. It’s both theft and creation in one act. Thanks again for the lesson :)
🌲 When I died, clinically, I experienced the nature of reality and the universe as a co-creation of material experience with no dividing line between good and evil. We who experience good and evil, right or wrong, as material beings, we apply these definitions and their meaning. But in the In-between there is only experience.
Great video, I appreciate your moderate and down the earth approach. As a long time student of Kabalah, I have always struggled to understand the Qliphoth, as each sphere of the sephirot by nature has it's own shadow without the need for an additional glyph called the Qliphoth. Your videos brought me onto Dragon Rouge and reading through it, I finally understand the western concept of the Left Hand Path.. I had previously seen that the Aghori's in the East were a true authentic example of the "Left Hand Path", but I have never found anything authentically Left Hand Path within the West, which usually wreaks of narcissism and grandiosity, violence and things I just see as pointless and childish.. Having read some Thomas Karlsson's work I finally understand and LOVE his conception if the Left and Path, and it's all thanks to your videos! So I really really appreciate your work! :) Plus the opening part of Qabalah, Qliphoth and Goetic Magic gives an interesting explanation of Goths.. I feel so included! :D lol :P Keep up the great vids! :)
Worth mentioning when discussing Isaac Luria, is also the Theurgic work of the reintegration of the Divine beings by Martinez de Pasqually and his order of the Elus Cohen, which was later developed by his pupils Jean Baptiste Willermoz and Louis Claude de Saint Martin.
🌳It seems like the Kabbalah Qlippoth were helpful in mapping/rationalizing the universe, and the modern rituals are helpful in mapping/rationalizing the self.
I had the idea many decades ago that a thing or object can be thought as 0+1 first it isn't there, then it is. But it can also be thought of as not being everything else in the universe, more of an infinity -1, it's abstracted from the whole, more like zimzum.
An interesting follow-up to this video would be a forensic analysis of how the "Qliphoth" found their way into Crowley's and then Grant's occult writings. I know that Eliphas Levi was instrumental in popularizing this concept in Europe during the French Occult Revival (particularly in his writings on the Kabbalah). But I don't know how far back that goes. Food for thought, if you ever decide to try your hand at the subject.
Angela, be careful getting too close to the LHP. If you want to get on the RHP they may be suspicious of your interest of the LHP and some RHP may not approve of your entry into their group.
The LHP & RHP are the same thing but polarities of the same flame. Without one the other diminishes unless in equilibrium. Clavicula Nox = Clavicula Lux
Spoiler alert: RHP uses the slow endocrine system and is represented by the serpent. LHP uses the fast nervous system and is represented by lightning. You're going to need both to close the circuit and build your own temple. BE NOT AFRAID.
🌲 Thank you for this episode, I've been studying this through The Temple of Ascending Flame lately. I'm truly fascinated with this and loved your explanation of its origin and the branching of the tradition from Kabbalah to Hermetic Qabalah! Excellent presentation!
Hi, Angela! I've been watching your videos a long time but haven't contacted you until now. I found this video particularly interesting because I've been curious about the Qabalah, especially in LHP terms. I'm more than halfway through Karlsson's book that you discussed here and am wondering what you think of it as an academic. He doesn't source a lot of what he writes, and much of it just seems like he's making it up. Has he been through this entire process himself--is he a God because of this process he knows in so much detail? Wondering what you think.
1. _traditionalist_ historical studies: learning a vocabulary to conceptualize and communicate experience - whether mundane or spiritual 2. ritualistic practice: cultivating the dramatization of specific, 'proper' inner _stances_ and actions in an undiluted, mastered form - like learning an instrument to play a distinct tune 3. what modernists term 'self-deification' as of it were a Pagan Renaissance is nothing but a realization of the Self as the Divine Image of Man in Christian, _orthodox_ tradition From the latter follows a powerful practice in the _Communion_ of personal encounter - e.g. when confronting shared non-conformist, e.g. dissenting views, _informally_ in honest - a de facto ritualistic act that will 'open doors', the modern, enlightened etiquette, social theory or the formal bureaucratic process - can't even sense - thus piecing a fragmented creation together into a new pathway of fate as no social engineering ever could...
I find it interesting how this seems to be almost like a weird argument for a "good" sith in some ways. Mostly I think of it myself as embracing passions of ones self to reign over them, but even then that is something both to be taken with skills to develop and wariness of where the illusions of various passions can trip you. I think there is a place for this, but think it may take a partner in a similar and intimate level to get much out of it.
🌲🌲🌲 I would love to see you do a video on how cultivating the experience of non-duality has been a part of magical practice and perennial esotericism in general. Great vid on the qliphoth!
I wish you go deeper on the qlipoth this is theory only...its available on internet . There is serpent, sophia, and shivain crown. You could explain in reality exemples in real life
