Listen, and try to think if you remember what we will speak of now. 6. Listen,-perhaps you catch a hint of an ancient state not quite forgotten; dim, perhaps, and yet not altogether unfamiliar, like a song whose name is long forgotten, and the circumstances in which you heard completely unremembered. ²Not the whole song has stayed with you, but just a little wisp of melody, attached not to a person or a place or anything particular. ³But you remember, from just this little part, how lovely was the song, how wonderful the setting where you heard it, and how you loved those who were there and listened with you. 7. The notes are nothing. ²Yet you have kept them with you, not for themselves, but as a soft reminder of what would make you weep if you remembered how dear it was to you. ³You could remember, yet you are afraid, believing you would lose the world you learned since then. ⁴And yet you know that nothing in the world you learned is half so dear as this. ⁵Listen, and see if you remember an ancient song you knew so long ago and held more dear than any melody you taught yourself to cherish since. 8. Beyond the body, beyond the sun and stars, past everything you see and yet somehow familiar, is an arc of golden light that stretches as you look into a great and shining circle. ²And all the circle fills with light before your eyes. ³The edges of the circle disappear, and what is in it is no longer contained at all. ⁴The light expands and covers everything, extending to infinity forever shining and with no break or limit anywhere. ⁵Within it everything is joined in perfect continuity. ⁶Nor is it possible to imagine that anything could be outside, for there is nowhere that this light is not. 9. This is the vision of the Son of God, whom you know well. ²Here is the sight of him who knows his Father. ³Here is the memory of what you are; a part of this, with all of it within, and joined to all as surely as all is joined in you. ⁴Accept the vision that can show you this, and not the body. ⁵You know the ancient song, and know it well. ⁶Nothing will ever be as dear to you as is this ancient hymn of love the Son of God sings to his Father still. 10. And now the blind can see, for that same song they sing in honor of their Creator gives praise to them as well. ²The blindness that they made will not withstand the memory of this song. ³And they will look upon the vision of the Son of God, remembering who he is they sing of. ⁴What is a miracle but this remembering? ⁵And who is there in whom this memory lies not? ⁶The light in one awakens it in all. ⁷And when you see it in your brother, you are remembering for everyone A Course In Miracles (1975)

As a Qliphothic practitioner I have realized the benefits of dealing with the shadow or shell realm. Like you mentioned it’s like being trash into your home. But one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. We should all know that energy is never destroyed only transformed, water gets hot turns to gas, etc. when you deal with the spiritual aspect your able to balance out your consciousness to point where it is divine such as god. This the “pride of Lucifer”. The light bearer that shines light into the darkness, hence why he was sent to the darkness. Great video! Great information!
Nice! That's also why we are the Star that descends into Hades. Like Persephone who has to integrate Hella and Marry Hades to awaken in the dying sun and bring Eternity, Healing and Immortality. It's the feminine principle within us. Sekhmet. Red Lion. Was a huge integration. Gullveig. Another one.

Fascinating and thoughtful as always. It reminded me of my first exposure to the idea of the qlippoth decades ago; for some reason 'shells' made me think of oyster shells. It's been a challenge to get past that.
That thing about this world being built on top of previous worlds kind of reminds me of something in Aztec mythology where the current world is essentially the husk of the worlds that have come before. Weird how these ideas come up again and again despite these populations having no contact with each other.
Zoroastrianism is downplayed far too much on the influence of the Judeo-Christian worldview. Babylon, Egyptian, Greek... yeah, yeah, but what about Persian!
Judaism is so much cooler than Christianity, even if I think the Gnostics may have really been on to something. I don’t claim an Abrahamic religion anymore, but I did flirt with conversion for awhile. That well-established spiritual path of Lutheranism to Judaism. Great episode, Dr. Sledge. Even your name is so metal.
These are fascinating ideas and it does follow patterns we see today... the darkness and beasts precede the spirit of goodness and overcoming. That was a great structural view of the divine, according to Kabbalah. I like to remember that these early writers were using available metaphors to translate their experience. I also think humanity was vibrating on a higher frequency and they were more spiritually connected. We're heading for the trough, away from spirit and into matter. As my Dad used to tell me; "when you hit rock bottom son, you'll bounce back up". The metaphorical nature followed through language allows the substance of their ideas to be explored in our own terms. The "nothing as something" and the lack made in it's lackness is what we commonly call absence. I don't think the word is the language of the gods. When there was only one divine being, the expression must have been impulsive. A feeling, not even a thought, that only ever unravels aspects of sensation. Impulses translate through mirroring. This is something that has impacted my own faith. I believed for a very long time that my life design should make me more intimate in divine mysteries, and closer to God. Only in this ambition is there any distance between being and divine becoming. Perhaps there is an absence of God in my secluded meditations. Perhaps the work is not to close gaps but to look into the creative gaps between divine becoming and divine being? Can God alone perceive specific traits and impulses within the radiance of divine presence? The first impulse of any absence would be to a sense of connection. Does imagining one draw divine light out of the darkness? If we were turning radiance to an impulsive metaphor, my guess is we would call it exuberance. Great work Doc! I really enjoyed that thank you.

I was very excited to hear you mention the cosmic weather and celestial affects of Saturn. I believe interactions with Saturn and Uranus could explain occult interpretations, as Uranus has an unusual spin with a 90° wobble that could have inspired celestial patterns similar to a cross, an atlas rose, or perhaps a Faerie if the flammable gasses were ignited.
I love having mild hyperthymesia and being a bit of a polymath. I was listening along to your explanation and all I could think about is how it ALL just sounds like allegorical interpretations of physical events, where the meaning was lost alongside other knowledge, and due to historical/academic revisionism (ie; gradualism). No, really. I'm not writing a novel here to explain this, but I'll answer genuine questions.
Thankyou for emanating this video. Makes the sea legs active. Reading the Plato translation you recommended and find it to be excellent. Thanks for that also. Great Channel.
Evil, like good, originates in the human heart, embellished and enabled by culture and context - it requires no metaphysical explanation involving dancing angels, cosmology, mythology or such. Much religious and mystical history is quite fascinating to me but the various discussions of the origns of evil have always smacked to me as originating in denial A very 21st century viewpoint but aside from the particulars of culture, people are people regardless of era or place. Saturns' rays notwithstanding. As always exceptional work. the world is improved for your place in it Dr Sledge.
I think the first question that should be asked is: what is evil? Because, in my view, "evil" is a somewhat vague umbrella term. Are we talking about "evil" from the point of view of human morality? Because, in this sense, it is a mutable and relative concept that has undergone mutations throughout the ages. And in addition to being temporally relative, it is also culturally and geographically relative. Are we talking about a universal metaphysical "evil"? And how does this concept relate to the concept of human morality? Because such a concept was conceived by a human mind, subject to dogmas and cultural conditions. Every metaphysical concept is first abstracted and conceived through processes of the mind and human idealizations, therefore subject to ideological "contamination". So, how can we theologically and philosophically affirm that a human concept applies to the uniqueness of the whole, to "God", to the creator, to the universe? Maybe we are just mirroring worldly concepts to the divine and, in a certain way, even selfish, thinking that such concepts apply to the same. What may be seen as "evil" to us may be indifferent or irrelevant to the higher sacred, for, again, this is a human concept. Our need to try to explain evil from a sacred point of view is perhaps just a reflection of our need to explain and understand "evil" within ourselves, based on our own concepts of what evil is and, perhaps, even justify them

Hello Dr. Sledge! I'm sure you're busy, but if you have time, I would appreciate any thoughts you may have about the following suggestion. I notice that the Talmud attributes the following to Rav: "The world was created through ten attributes: Through wisdom, through understanding, through knowledge, through strength, through rebuke, through might, through righteousness, through justice, through kindness, and through mercy." This strikes me as surprisingly similar to the sefirot. Particularly, Chokmah, Chesed, and Gevurah are explicitly represented, as is Da'at (although it's not technically a sefirah). Also, Rachamim is associated with Tiferet, and there's an attribute associated with "Understanding", even though it isn't "Binah". Obviously there are ten of them, and additionally some of these attributes (eg. Chokmah) are elsewhere anthropomorphized in the Talmud, suggesting there's something more metaphysically significant going on than simply listing features of God. Do you think this list could represent a primitive version of what eventually became the sefirot?
Im of the gnostic belief.. but its interesting how ancient religions thought around their time. Yaddolbaoth seems to be the best explanation ive heard yet..
Not gonna lie, the theory where qlippot comes from the refuse of the previous iterations of reality upon which the current one is built really made me think of Final Fantasy XIV of all things, with the way light and dark and voidspawns work in that setting.
Great episode. Amazing scholarship, which explains the conflicting information about the qlippoth. Some angels claim to be attributed to one of the qlippothic spheres. Of course this doesn't prove anything, only that the psychic who spoke to the angel believes in the qlippoth. But it suggests that angels may be working with the concept.
I swear, last night I was explaining to a friend that Satan was actually like a prosecutor and not an actual entity opposing God. And then I see this video. I love coincidences like these 😅
i wonder how many people have subscribed to this channel looking for explanations of concepts that inspirated hoyoverse lore, with how much they draw from kabbalah, gnostic traditions and other esotericism
I've had this idea occur to me that evil can also be a result of "destructive interference," such as that which occurs in the double slit experiment--light interferes with itself to create zones of darkness.

The idea that evil is a lack of good or even a lack of existence is thoroughly Neoplatonic. Augustine got it from Plotinus.
True story

Love it - would love to see something on evil and schilling
I love having mild hyperthymesia and being a bit of a polymath. I was listening along to your explanation and all I could think about is how it ALL just sounds like allegorical interpretations of physical events, where the meaning was lost alongside other knowledge, and due to historical/academic revisionism (ie; gradualism). No, really.
I'm not writing a novel here to explain this, but I'll answer genuine questions.
Staten island mentioned in a video about the origin of evil, very accurate…
Keep up the exceptional work, Dr Sledge 👏⚒️
Does the Staten Island ferry fulfill a messianic role?
Well-timed Malevich shout-out, btw.
This episode was like a wonderful, rich meal❤
It's the cheapest way to see the statue of Liberty ;) 🗽

Thank you! ❤
Ah another version of what came first the chicken or the egg. Always a banger of convo
Primordial evil seems to occupy a similar place in Kabbalistic philosophy that radiation occupies in modern cosmogony.
Great work!
Thankyou for emanating this video. Makes the sea legs active. Reading the Plato translation you recommended and find it to be excellent. Thanks for that also. Great Channel.
Thank you Justin thank you 🙏
Evil, like good, originates in the human heart, embellished and enabled by culture and context - it requires no metaphysical explanation involving dancing angels, cosmology, mythology or such.
Our need to try to explain evil from a sacred point of view is perhaps just a reflection of our need to explain and understand "evil" within ourselves, based on our own concepts of what evil is and, perhaps, even justify them
FANTASTIC
Dr Puca referred me here, but I'm a regular viewer. I love when y'all team up like this🪄✨💖❤🔥🖤! 🙊*Fangirlscreams* 🙊I find all of this subject absolutely amazing and intimidatingly massive, thank you for this introductory presentation. Also the Persian connection is very interesting. Humanities first taste of dystopia haha jk.
Thank you🌠
14:45 loving Lilith's fashionable dress.
Thank you for this video
Hello Dr.
That Lilith looks so fantastic!
Hey! Take it easy on Staten Island ! We’re not that bad!
Im of the gnostic belief.. but its interesting how ancient religions thought around their time. Yaddolbaoth seems to be the best explanation ive heard yet..
I thought I was already subscribed Well I Am now ❤❤❤
Quick: best Primer book on Kabbalah?!!
Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽
Very useful. I’m in the trenches right now
Not gonna lie, the theory where qlippot comes from the refuse of the previous iterations of reality upon which the current one is built really made me think of Final Fantasy XIV of all things, with the way light and dark and voidspawns work in that setting.
I love coincidences like these 😅
Would love to sit in on a class surrounding these themes.
Excellent 👍🏻
i wonder how many people have subscribed to this channel looking for explanations of concepts that inspirated hoyoverse lore, with how much they draw from kabbalah, gnostic traditions and other esotericism
I've had this idea occur to me that evil can also be a result of "destructive interference," such as that which occurs in the double slit experiment--light interferes with itself to create zones of darkness.
Thank you
