I once had one going 50KM/h (31 mph) and it was a solid 3 seconds of wobbling but it felt like a minute.. most terrifying thing I've ever experienced on my board lol. thankfully I managed to bail out into some nearby grass and roll away unscathed

Yeah, that’s Gibraltar road in Santa Barbara and the cliff at that corner gets really steep really fast. Josh has BALLS hitting it that fast with that much gravel on the road! 😳
Every single one of them must have hurt so bad. Damn. A fighter he is, always gets back on his board. Not sure If i would have the same attitude after some of those bails.
Seems like leather would be a good idea. At this point, there's more skin on the roadway than covering your body. Back in the day, Signal Hill was THE downhill event in the sport and everyone was in full leather.
Hey Josh, just wanted to let you know that you inspired me to start longboarding in my late 20's. Always wanted to skateboard as a teen, never got past an ollie and soon forgot about it Up to this point I managed to not fall while on the board, but my girlfriend wasnt so lucky, she got hurt quite a bit and since then we are a bit anxious. Those bail clips kinda got me thirsty for blood once again, maybe you have an advice on how to fall? I've noticed already that its best to get on that juicy ass and let that friction do its job, rather than falling over the board ( greater risk of hurting yourself, makes movement of body unpredictable?) cheers
Falling on to your ass and sliding or falling onto your stomach and using the pads with your hands to keep most of the weight on them other than that just keep practicing your going to fall one of my favorite quotes from josh is if your not falling your not trying hard enough. Good luck 👍
@@percyfaith11 The ability to stay stable at those high speeds requires a lot of micro movements in your body's mucles to keep from wabbling and losing control in the first place. This video is a great example of people who are absolutely legends at the sport messing up those small little movements that keep them stable at high speeds.
Bails? More like BALLS.. HUGE BALLS. I got a cruiser and a skateboard, first started skating when I was 11, skated for about 4 years, quit when I was 15-16, now I’m 25, bought me a skateboard and a cruiser, I love them both so much, got my ollies back pretty much and working on my shuv-it and other tricks, started 3 days ago so I guess an Ollie in 3 days is good I’m trying to get a moving Ollie now and more moving tricks but I couldn’t go down a hill like this, even the cruiser is a bit scary once it catches a little bit of speed but it’s so much fun.

Since they are not really rotating until crashing, what does precession have to do with it?
