Idk if you remember me, Ahmed, but I just wanted to tell you that ever since I met you in Singapore and listened to all your wise words while our small group went to the aquarium, you've really given me a lot of hope about my art and what I can turn it into in the future. Lately I've also been having anxiety issues (most of which I've had for a long time) and am slowly trying to work through them. I have confidence issues as well atm, and it's difficult some days for me to even draw. I can't help but think if I'll ever get to where I wanna be in the industry. I wish I knew how to stop having such thoughts. But anyway, I just wanted to thank you for all the vids and tutorials you made, they really do help people like me. P.S~ I hung your Hellboy drawing on my wall in front of me, gives off a good energy. -- Joseffyne
I've been following your journey for a couple of years already Ahmed and this might sound weird, but I'm glad I've been able to find someone who struggles from anxiety and depression and an artist at the same time just like me. And seeing how you are able to overcome those things and climb out of this pit fills me with hope. Unfortunately I'm at that stage where my depression dictates whether or not I can draw at all and I can't really do anything about it at this moment. And listening to you talking about it even briefly gave me an understanding that this all is fixable. But the strangest part here is how similar my situation to yours Ahmed. I even used to take Zoloft as well at some point (and thought its all good but a series of events happened and made it worse). And I'm also struggling with hating my art, maybe on a smaller scale cause I have no audience to show it to like you do. I just wanted to thank you for sharing your story, cause it gives people like me a hope that all of this is temporary. So.. Thank you.
So great to have you back Med, been missing your many wisdoms. cool to hear you’re still working out ✌️and that you’re moving through the tough stuff!!!
I really want to see more of your sketchbook art and discussions with other artist (especially Robert). I like hearing them when I draw. Thank you for the impact you gave me and I hope you can overcome the stress and anxiety you have with more ease!
Welcome back Ahmed!! I’ve been binge rewatching your older tutorials and have been feeling so inspired to create and you’ve helped me so much! Glad to see you back and can’t wait for more new content!
What a great birthday Gift seeing you uploading videos again :D Rewatching your videos over and over and over again and I am at a point where I can quote you quit literally, lol (okay, this is an exaggeration! But the truth is, I come back to your videos very often!) To the anxiety thing.. I hope you find a way out. I am dealing with anxiety issues for years now too and what helped me was a method you described once. Write or draw the scenrario out. What could happen, what not? And thats how my Sketchbook turned into that really personal thing where I just figure out how to respond in certain Situations and to see if the negative Emotions that I feel towards a certain Situation are actually rational thoughts or utterly bullsh*t. Also, this might get a little bit nerdy but anxiety in general is just like this evil bossfight in a videogame and we just need a way to beat this endboss and get to the next level. Of course, with passing levels, the anxiety might get stronger. But maybe, with what we accomplish while beating anxiety over and over and over again, the anxiety just turns into old man Jenkins that just hasn't learned his lesson yet. (maybe as a general tip for everyone going through this rough time!) However. I strongly believe that you find a way to deal with the anxiety and well, we're all glad that you're back Sir! And greetings from Germany!
Please do another one. But please on paper and using mechanical pensils. Just draw for an hour and record it. Those couple of videos made I watched your pensil work made my work 400% better. And they are the most relaxing thing to watch.
I like your honesty Ahmed, thank you for not completely abandoning YT peoples.) Don't fall into anxiety D: Life is all black and white stripes, i kinda just wait till the white comes >_>
I was bout to start drawing while watching your vid then I started looking for some reference then like ten mins later as I’m staring at Pinterest on my phone I hear the black hole of Pinterest and I was like “ah crap u got me, I need to start drawing.” Happy to see you’re back.
Wow, this is really surreal for me. I recently applied for an exchange semester at CCS in Detroit and just at the exact moment I saw this video in my abbo box I was checking who the instructors for my courses are. I thought it was a strange coincident one of my instructors has the same name as the Ahmed Aldoori whose videos I watched for such a long time while drawing. I can't wait to meet you in person!
ALRIGHT! OKAY! YES! OK! WOOHOO! DONT U LEAVE, NOW. My hero o/ I really missed your videos. I've been rewatching your other videos almost everyday, wondering if you'd ever come back. You're THE best, med. The BEST. Seriously. You're my best friend, and you don't even know :'). It would be super great if you could make a few videos, but yeah, you know what's best for you, and I understand that. Don't feel bad if you choose something different. I get it. You'll always be my hero, no matter what. Also, don't forget the coffee for your next videos, these are the most fun to watch 😂😂
Pinterest is the Procastinator God of artists!!! One look and you'll be sucked in for the entire next two to five hours and not only will you not do any art that day... you'll doubt yourself every second cause you will just never be that good! xD
I worked hard and saved up enough money to travel from New Zealand to Amurica and attend the lightbox expo. But then I chicken'd out and decided to buy a new computer instead because I feel like I'm an awkward turtle and If I attended the convention I would just make a fool of myself in front of my heroes OTL
glad to see you're back ahmed we miss your art ! wanna ask you have you tried the ipad pro / procreate ? what do you think about it , can we make pro art using it ? I wanna start digital art and the ipad pro seems like the tool for me , plus photoshop is coming soon to the ipad pro as well , so what do you think have you tried procreate ?
Can't speak for Ahmed's opinion on it, but I've seen professional artists using iPad Pro/Procreate to make their work as a substitute for Photoshop. Some of my friends started to do their work exclusively with Procreate too, so I think it's a viable option if you wanna go that route. Hopefully Photoshop is integrated well into the iPad too. I haven't used it myself, but from what I've seen and heard people seem really happy with it.
@@SujakuuClips yeah I watched lots of videos on this matter from professional artists as well , and because I like ahmed's art I wanted to ask for his opinion as well , I started drawing since I was young and till now been drawing traditionally , and now I want to make the transition but I don't want to get tied behind a desk with a studio setup , guess I'll sum up the courage and give it a try .. thanks for your opinion on the matter :D much appreciated
It's a process, honestly. Not an overnight solution, especially if you have a very busy life. You just gotta gently push yourself to draw when you have the time and work towards drawing more, that's it really. One thing that helped me put it into perspective was that I put a tracker in my bullet journal (which I haven't used in like 3 months). I'd fill in the little box if I drew something. And for me specifically since I have an issue with drawing my own stuff when I got commissions waiting, I would also color code what I drew. Seeing a multiple day long gap where I realized I've drawn nothing at all often encouraged me to at least scribble some art down.
The reason i procrastinate that I find the idea of drawing something realistic or with a lot of details intimating and usually I give up before even starting.
Thanks for everything, med! You're the best. Good luck on getting more and more consistent. Pinterest is like watching a feminist cringe compilation. Love and hate. LMAO
jesus christ man.. glad you're finding werever your revelation is but.. fuck.. fix your shit, own it and get it together.. first world issues.. thats what it is, you need a 180° on that one, get a janitor job and i promise you will come back straight up mentally and fisically in 1 week
They need to add a feature on pinterest that saves all your pins to your visual library. :D
Btw you have the greatest outro Ahmed! :D
Wow, yesterday I re-watched some of your older videos ...
