    One tip for homemakers with children...read at BREAKFAST (or right after 😆), rather than waiting until bed time. I found that our reading was so much more enthusiastic, they paid more attention, it killed all the morning time squabbles over the breakfast table. I did this when my kids were still in school & also when we transitioned to homeschool. It kind of goes along with Kelsey's tip to play with them first - they feel paid attention to. Or they would have 'morning work' to do while eating breakfast; a fun holiday themed worksheet, a small puzzle or riddle, a math challenge/quiz - something to get them immediately into their school day, that was fun without time to wander off & turn on tv or get toys out. This gave me a minute to clean up breakfast dishes, run out & do barn chores, etc.. In addition to getting myself ready before they were up, I got them ready immediately! NO sitting around in pjs. We often have lots of unexpected company (because for some reason people think that because you are home or schooling at home, that they are free to drop in whenever they want) and I never wanted us to be inappropriately dressed or in the middle of getting dressed when that happens. I 'dress' everyday, unless I am ill. I often wear a dress or skirt - I do barn chores, gardening, canning, etc...never has hindered me so far. I buy thrifted or clearance clothes & always wear an apron -don't worry about what happens to the clothes. I always look nice & am ready for anything the day throws at me! I also do the 'reward' thing. I give myself about 1/2 hr around 2-3pm to just sit, unwind, have a fresh cup of coffee & knit or watch youtube. It rewards me for the work I have already done & recharges me for the busy evening work ahead.

    I love earning my tea time during my sons nap time. I usually declutter while he sleeps but when I’ve had a really productive morning I’ll make a big pot of tea, sip and read!

      Take that tea time and read! Fantastic idea. I love you "earning" the time. I need to declutter more! Love this!

    "Don't sit down"- I have never heard that advice before. And I do need to consider implementing it in my daily routine 😎 Thank you a lot Kelsey 🥰

    Another inspiring video - thank you! I really love the tip for making a "Did" list rather than a "To Do" list. I'm definitely going to start doing that. 😊

      Good, I'm glad! I love to make a did list 😌 makes me feel a lot better. Sometimes, I underline the task I did if it was really big and time-consuming, especially if there isn't much on my list due to it. 🤪

    Hi Kelsey! Thank you for your inspiration and encouragement. I was wondering if you could share some of the places that you get your cute dresses and aprons?

    Thank you for sharing truth on this platform! I appreciate your first tip especially and am going to start doing that every day.. I noticed the same thing and yet I still struggle to make it a priority, I really needed to hear those words from someone else. Thank you!

      @faithfulacresfarmhouse  Год назад

      It can be very hard to make it a priority. That is definitely the evil one trying to distract us and make us unmotivated. It is also really easy to start the day on other tasks, especially chores. I do notice throughout my day when things go south, and instantly remember that I didn't start my day with the Lord. I'm praying for you! Getting started and being consistent the first week is the hardest! You got this ❤️

      I bought it from Shein. I have been searching, but this is the closest I have found. It is pretty much the same just different colors. There are sooo many dresses and I can't find a place to look at my previous orders.

      After research, I no longer shop from them due to the treatment of workers and chemicals found in fabrics. Just a disclaimer 😊

    My biggest advice is to play with your children for 4 hours out of the day. Use the other 4 hours to do basics. Let the little things go.

      This is the closest I have found. It may still be on there, they have a lot of clothes.

      @jesseyhoffman1377 I did hear that they may not be the most ethical company, and certain chemicals were found in the fabric. Who knows if it's any different though then from TJ Maxx or Amazon. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just in case you wanted to know.
