  • Welcome to my channel! In this video, I demonstrate how to achieve the legendary guitar tone of David Gilmour from Pink Floyd. Using a Gibson Les Paul DC with P90 pickups and a Boss BD-2 pedal, I'll showcase riffs and solos inspired by Gilmour's signature sound.
    Watch as I break down the setup, including pedal settings and guitar specs, to help you capture that smooth, soaring quality. If you enjoy this demo, don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more guitar tone tips and gear reviews.
    Gear Used:
    - Guitar: Gibson Les Paul Special DC with P90 pickups
    - Pedal: Boss BD-2 Blues Driver

    Thank you. I needed this reminder of how great my 1997 BD2 is. Now if I can only find it.

    Really, really, REALLY like this song dude. As a bass player I'd love to lay down a line with it; as an engineer I would love to mix this. Came for the tone, stayed for the song -- GREAT JOB! (also, you wearing my favorite band's t-shirt didn't hurt 😛 )

      Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. I'm always looking for other people to make this kind of music with. Do you have Facebook? Maybe we can connect there and discuss a collaboration.

    Hi Dennis, thank you for this video. By the way, which song is this?

      Glad you like it! The song is something I came up with for this video, but since it reminded me of the song “dogs” I took the lyrics from that.

    Hello can you please elaborate on how you got the organ/ keyboard tone? Thank you. Did you do the drums in software? Excellent work all along!

    • @DennisWever
      @DennisWever  4 месяца назад

      Yeah, sure! I'm not really a keyboard player, so there are probably people with more authority on the subject than me. But in basically all of my videos, I use the stock B3 plugin that comes with Logic Pro X. I adjust the drawbar settings to taste and run it through a delay.
      The drums are from EZdrummer 3. I sometimes hook up a Roland V-drums and play basic stuff myself, and sometimes I program the drums (like in this particular video). Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate it!

      @@DennisWever Thank you sir! You guitar solo was truly heart piercing, any chance you would be able to tab this out? I worked out that you chord progression was around the line of Em, G, D. This is exactly the type of music I am trying to produce. I am a self learner, and use youtube as a primary source to pick up these tricks. Alas, most of the videos are geared towards doing pop/synth/hiphop. I would love to connect with you to be mentored! Wishing you the best.

    Do you find the string butler works well? I installed one on my SG a few years ago and it was awful for some reason. It actually seemed to make the tuning stability WORSE. Although, I've found a way to keep it in tune pretty well now, so oh well!

    • @DennisWever
      @DennisWever  4 месяца назад

      Yes absolutely. Although this particular guitar also has an amazing set up to begin with. The string butler completes that. Even the dreaded G string issues are completely gone.

      Thank you! To be honest that's what I was aiming for sound wise, and it's probably why David used his Les Paul with P90s sometimes instead of his trusted Stratocaster.
