I am a Bulgarian married to a wonderful Polish man. I love to cook, but even more I love to prepare his favorite Polish dishes, which he misses so much. Anna is my personal guide in Polish cuisine. Every single thing I've made from your recipe has been incredibly delicious and a real happiness for my husband.
Is it delicious for You?
So far, I haven't tried Polish food that didn't taste good - I love it!!! I also often share the things I cook or buy from Poland with my family here and with my friends and they really like it too. I have shared this channel with quite a few of them because they ask me for recipes.
This was one of the first recipes I made after buying your book! Love it! I need to make it soon.
I didn’t make it through the whole video at first because I was compelled to go make this soup immediately! I grabbed your book and headed to the kitchen. My 87 year old mom wasn’t feeling well and this soup really perked her up. Thanks for all that you do. 😊
Hope your mother is doing well 💕🙏
Just love your new kitchen!!!
Hi hello.. i've been watching your channel for not even a month but i just wish i could like these videos more than once!!! absolutely love how you have such a laid back yet precise way of doing these.. and the chemistry between you and your husband, just lovely.. i'll try this soup in a few days once i use up other leftovers.. thanks for doing what you do here, Anna and Mark.. you've got a new fan of me!! cheers from Yukon Canada.
Vanessa
I don't eat meat.. I'd use mushrooms and smoked sea salt 👍🏼 great video and pretty bowls ❤
You have been a great inspiration to me to introduce the younger children in our family to revive some of the old polish recipes from my youth. At holiday time my grandmother would always have me help make the polish sausage this was all done by hand grinder and stuffers. I have expanded my sausage making to various types but it always comes back to the polish sausage. I hate to admit it that I am 76 years old and still caring on old traditions
Mmm. Great soup for winter lunches.
Buy the cookbooks !! So worth reading and wonderful pictures to go along with each recipe. It also is a great gift idea for someone you know who loves to cook traditional meals. I hope we see you in Grand Rapids if the book tour comes to Michigan again. Make Mark some Pasties !!
I Love to make soup, yours looks Great. Have you ever made a green beans soup with bacon, white vinegar, and flour. The soup is just a little sour. Please tell me if you have ever made this. My Polish mother would make this all the time. Great around Easter. Do you have a recipe for this soup?
Why don't you reply to this question ?
I just wanted to say Thank You So Much! My Mom and her parents were from Poland ... my Grandmother was the best woman I've ever known ... and she was equally happy making us homemade food by hand , or popping a TV Dinner into the toaster oven or heating up a can of Progresso or Campbell's etc. - but she made an *amazing* soup that I never once ever asked what it was, how it was made, I simply called it what I believe translates into Polish as "Grandma's Soup" ... and after we lost her, it never occurred to me to ask my Mom what it was, what it was called, what the ingredients are etc ... I can't even barely describe it ... that's been the hardest part, talking to Polish people and them saying "OK well describe it.." ... "Uhh... it was yellow ... neither thick nor thin ... it was good ... and she always put a Bay leaf in every bowl and admonished me not to eat it ..." but this might be it! I think maybe she used ham instead of sausage but I think this LOOKS pretty damn close! Thank you again!
Love the new intro and, as always, the recipe looks delicious.
I made this for dinner last night for my wife and I. Very delicious! We just had the leftover soup for Sunday breakfast. Tonight I'm making your ribs and sauerkraut for family dinner for five people. This is a family favorite because it's soooo good.
Looks amazing!
I love all your videos and can't wait to make this recipe....the two of you are so cute!
Looks amazing! Love your videos and cook books. Thanks for sharing Poland with us! 🇵🇱
Thank youuuuu for this video.I will make this today. It's the perfect remedy for me and my husband,we both have colds. I love your videos. You are both such a joy to watch.🥰
I know I said it last week, too, but so glad to see cooking videos from you!! This looks delicious - I will be making this for lunch today. Thank you!!
Your food portions are perfect Polish portions. There's a good reason why we're known for our hospitality the world over, because a guest gets fed properly
I found your channel and love it. My Babcia made so many of these foods. When she passed my Aunt got all recipes and won’t share with the family. I was wondering if you could make Chrusciki. My Babcia would have those cookies on every holiday. I always looked forward to eating those.
Excellent amigo and senorita...THANKS...
Pyszna polska zupa👍
Watching from Melb Australia. It’s sorta summer now but will try this in cooler months 👍🏻
I have ham hocks, smoked ham hocks right now, so that’s what I would use unless I go to Knoxville to get some real good smoked Polish sausage. Knoxville is about 30 to 40 minutes from where I live.
I have your book, thank you. I saw you in Wisconsin with Mark.
Kartoflanka to taka "bieda-zupa", gdzie muszą połączyć się smaki i zapachy: ugotowanych ziemniaków (plus inne warzywa), majeranku, zasmażki i... roztartego czosnku w dużej ilości.
Looks yummy! Could you have used the potato water and wouldn't that help thicken the soup? There was a lot of starch in it. I'm thinking of making this with a smoked turkey drumstick. 🤤
Awesome great video. I see you have your Stanley cup (Stanley Thermos) in the background. That sausage looks so delouses. In my opinion the sausage in Poland is way better then in America.
Sure sounds yummy, going to have to make this. But I'll have to scale it down for one person. Lol
I can’t make small portions either. The oldest of five children, you always make enough for everyone no matter how poor you are.
The soup looks fantastic, but I have a question.... Is that celery root, or is that parsnips? I ask because the images I look up of celery root show more of a ball shaped root... I wish my Mark and I could have met you both here in Poland, but my plans did not work out, so in April I will be traveling back to the USA... to CT... Will you both ever be traveling in CT in the near future? If so; I am sure my husband and I will be wanting to take you out for coffee or lunch or dinner... (I am currently in Lublin while my husband Mark is in Hartford, CT.)
Celeriac is the celery root. Parsnips are the parsley root
A great story from Tuesday, the day before Lent:
My mom bought a half dozen Packzi
.
I know I’m spelling it wrong, and you would hate to hear me try to pronounce it🙄
Not a doughnut,a delicious confection,indescribable.
There was a 1 hour wait outside our local Polish bakery, this is the time of year for them, yes?
My mother then went next door and purchased 2 servings of Pierogi, the best in town.
Oh they are sooo filling,I made 3 meals out of one serving.
Oh! I forgot to mention, this bakery,in the Cleveland Ohio region, was voted best bakery in America.
I kid you not.
Kiedrowsky’s
Lorain,Ohio.
Can you do a show on making a big pot of sauerkraut the Polish way please. I make it and it’s pretty good but I think I’m missing something.
She made a video some time ago. I sent an earlier message with a link but I don't think a RUclips like it. Search their videos, you'll find it.
@@ChuckTravels Thanks Chuck 👍
I love beet soup barcsz❤
When you said 'Marjoram', I thought I heard Margarine! 😅
Smoked paprika or for a different flavour black cardamom will help, if you don't have a smoked meat.
What would the UK measurements be?
How do I buy your box set? I can't figure it out on your site😢
Here ya go 😊 www.polishyourkitchen.com/shop/
Did you get a new kitchen?
Anna, can this recipe be cut in half successfully?
Yes, absolutely
Thanks, Anna!
Altho the Polish recipe is fabulous, you need to invest in a good microphone !! I can barely hear your soft whisper voice even with the volume turned way up !!
TFS !!
No problem at my end.
She sounds great here. It may be something on your side.
Some also add chicken broth
I've written on your web site about not receiving my order. Please contact me.
