When crude oil was 117 dollars per barrel then it was sold at a price of 85rs. per litre. Now when crude oil is 76dollars per barrel it is being sold at 97 to 107 rs. per litre. So decide by yourself if u even have average level of IQ that wheather is it cheaper or costlier. The main reason for costly oil is because in 2014 custom duty on petroleum products were 3.50 rs/ liter but now it is 32.33 rs. per litre. U can verify it online
Good news, now a conversion kit is available, which identifies the percentage of ethanol mix in the fuel and filters it and supplies purified gas to the engine. Moreover this kit is compatible upto 85% of ethanol blending and also in the process of being approved by ARAI and will be soon available as a plug and play device across the country. My tata tiago had check engine light went on when I took it to dealership to inspect they checked it on computer and find 3 error codes related to fuel, to fix this issue they clean the fuel pump filter and told me since petrol started coming with ethanol mix they have received many vehicles with same error codes, after cleaning they remove error codes with help of PC but unfortunately just after two days my car has again check engine light on, also a friend of mine who works for maruti dealership even he said they received many cars with similar complaints since ethanol mix fuel came. Even some people claim petrol pump owners now add ethanol additionally to increase their profits as ethanol is far cheaper then petrol.. I want to know if someone else is facing same issues too..

So more bio material mixing should reduce the cost of petrol ? As less crude oil is there in 1 lit of petrol Will govt decrease price of 1 lit of fuel then ? Performance, pollution is secondary. We as a vehicle owner are taking a hit by reduced mileage. So if govt prices it at the same price it's a loss for the end user

@@Liberty55555 @Liberty I am a free person, nobody told me whom to vote or not and I exercise my free will, at times even choosing not to vote - if your comment is about political sides. Now coming to the point, this is not the first time ethanol has been added to petrol. It's been in use across many countries including developed ones, in some countries mandatory. Auto manufacturers are aware of the technology and for last few years 8.5% is already been added. There have been enough scientific studies and proof there is only little or no impact on efficiency and engine life respectively when it's content is less than 25%. Even a regular car on roads today , primarily those with MPFI tech can run with up to 85% ethanol fuel, so the government need not consult you or me or the public for an approval. Do some study and scientific research. At least watch the video again, as he clearly mentioned this fuel will work for BS III, IV and VI vehicles. Just because you chose a handle named liberty does not give you the liberty to make any claim or judgement as per your desires. To add the timeline is till 2025 , enough time from policy on paper to being implemented.
@@Abhishek..G in all that explanation you forgot that you only said manufacturers will come out with oil and additives. so if this ethanol adoption was so normal and easy why a reaction would be needed from manufacturers of car ? and if its needed were they consulted ? was there any promise to pass on benefit of this to user of petrol ? and if this all was business as usual why wait for 5 years ?
@@Liberty55555 if one has to argue, it can go on forever. I mentioned the additives part because the original comment concern was corrosion. Even petrol is highly corrosive. suitable adaptation like additives or ECU programs specific to new fuel mixture can minimize any negative effects on engine, maximize performance and efficiency. the gain is minimal but we still want it. like i drive light footed on highways as when one gets the one or two extra kilometer in efficiency, we feel happy. It's all about "Optimization" All manufacturers do get guidelines from ARAI , which is the governing authority. You may be aware we switched from leaded to unleaded fuel, that lead was essential content which was replaced with additives that aren't as harmful by fuel companies. Were consumers asked and consulted, no. We have many international brands in auto for years, did they all offer ABS and Airbag, parking sensors, not until government mandated it. BS VI technology existed well before it was mandated in 2020, did manufacturers voluntarily manufacture and sell BS VI cars when they had know-how, no as their goal is sales and profit not pollution control. Airbags have been around since 80s something, why no previous government mandated to provide. Probably safety wasn't prime concern. Electricity and EV invention has been around for over 100 years globally, we had Reva electric car since first decade of this millennium, did people buy in mass numbers, no. Wasn't pollution happening then, yes it did, people and government were not concerned. Today why are global government's pushing EVs, climate change is real and we have to reduce pollution of our future generations to take birth and survive. Now people are concerned, as they see the effects. People cry about fuel prices. at least in big cities where most cars are sold have CNG available, do all manufacturers sell CNG fitted car , handful of cars & most don't even provide an option, is CNG better in terms of cost and lower pollution, yes. Then why people don't adopt it. This is next mandate I want from government "all petrol cars sold in metro cities must have CNG fitment" Technology matures and mass manufacturing brings down cost, sometimes government's have to mandate to drive its adoption for benefit of all. That's all they are doing now. Your query about fuel pricing in itself is a vast topic, something on which a whole chapter or book can be written, but in all good faith with the pricing mechanism that is in place, we should see suitable adjustment.

They take tax and most of it is spend in development projects, imagining owning a car with no roads and you will figure. Liability because we pay that money to outside countries we buy the fuel from. Arab countries don't manufacture or produce anything besides crude oil, and they are super rich just because other countries buy their crude oil
How much development has been happening can you figure it out. We are paying road taxes and for development we pay income tax and we pay gst for each and every product. So 260% of tax on petrol is it justifiable. Its good ethanol will be used and other development like this but is the money really getting saved or getting eaten in between in the name of development
Agree there is corruption, but not all of the spend is pocketed. Now, there's more development being done in india since independence. The economics of all this is huge. We are a developing country. Less than 10% Indians are I-tax payers and many are small tax payers. Government makes money from GST and Corporate tax and licensing like mines, spectrum etc. But the list of allocation in subsidies is endless from hospital, education, electricity, food, fertilizer, public transport, LPG . Plus we have unfriendly neighbours so huge defence budget. One can't explain in short. We are huge population to add to that burden. Fuel is one way to recover cost of these expenses, government can't mint money as it would erode rupee value in international trade. So the tax. My equation is like we buy TV for 10k and spend almost 2.5 to 3k per year on cable subscription. So in four years you have paid more to cable operator than the TV set itself. Apply that analogy to car and fuel prices, 5 lac car with 7rs per km fuel, cost comes to about 70000rs for 10000km running. Average users drive only about 10k to 15k a year, so in 5 years they are not spending what they invested in car to start with. As long as this investment vs cost of running for 5 years equation is true, it's not super expensive. End of day, people will think what they believe and belief can't be changed unless the person wants to.
@@Abhishek..G this was same during previous governments. Same neighbour and same imports. Now about our current government. All the growth spurt is from internet boom across globally and from all the software engineers who studied in these institutes including me, Are you talking about developments done by engineers, doctors and scientist studied in institutes launched by previous governments or bureaucrats who studied or part of administrative departments created by previous governments or you are talking about systems and policies created by them that benefited not just one caste or religion but many so we can have variety of smart people working around to bring growth in companies and government sectors. Many developed Countries give free public health care and education and affordable transport why can’t we? Don’t blame subsidies. Now worst part is current government will corruption you will find it out too because they have passed a bill in parliament in 2016 that they can receive anonymous bonds and nobody can trace it and they don’t even have to pay tax for it. Imagine Adani paying current government money in anonymous bonds. Buying not one, not two but all media houses. GST was introduced by an finance minister in previous government opposed by current government only to poorly implement it after winning election. Same government opposed fuel prices in 2013 when they were around 60s
It's just for government benefits, not consumers. Same excise and taxes will be charged on ethanol like petrol. The expected reduction in engine life will be in a way that you be able to run that for 15 yrs only and rule of scrapage is all ready coming. So all in all consumers at a loss, government has the last laugh

right now hydrogen costs way more than both petrol and ev. and yes right now it might not be practical for all but for many, it has started to make sense for example if you have a daily run of 100km+ then EV is the best bet it will be most pocket friendly and economical and a person that can own 2 car should use ev as the second to have the other only reserve for long trips.
Not only Ganna, Jatrofa, vegetable waste, Nara, all are inputs of ethanol. Nara is that part of paddy, wheat plant which remains on land after cutting, which is burnt only and prdoduces emission.
Yes but in Brazil the prices are different and the vehicles are sold with flex fuel engine. So you can have regular petrol, premium (speed as we call it) and then e 20 which is 20% ethanol which is cheapest.
Mileage will reduce. Ethanol is cheaper than petrol. But govt will charge you full price 100% of petrol, even though you're getting 70%. Plus less mileage means you'll have to buy even more petrol. So more profit for govt. Another masterstroke by Govt.
EV cars are not a complete solution. Reson being EV needs lithium and cobolt metal for making batteries. These metals are scarse and are very expensive to import. Importing these metals will also add to fiscal deficit. Also the second reason is crude oil is source of energy. EV batteries are not energy sources but storage units. To charge EV we need power plants (hydro, thermal, nuclear, solar or wind based ) to generate the energy. India is energy deficit nation and we dont have sufficient electrical energy to meet current demand, how will we cope up when transport vehicles are added to electrical grid? Governement earn billions in taxing petroleum. If all transport was to move to electrical energy how would government earn revenue? Road tax and taxes on EV will go up........

It's all about "Optimization"
All manufacturers do get guidelines from ARAI , which is the governing authority.
This is next mandate I want from government "all petrol cars sold in metro cities must have CNG fitment"
Technology matures and mass manufacturing brings down cost, sometimes government's have to mandate to drive its adoption for benefit of all. That's all they are doing now.
Your query about fuel pricing in itself is a vast topic, something on which a whole chapter or book can be written, but in all good faith with the pricing mechanism that is in place, we should see suitable adjustment.

But how an it be liability as they take 260% tax

Yes given you will be charged more 2 rupee every litre from 1oct 2022
Under socialism you are not given options

It's just for government benefits, not consumers. Same excise and taxes will be charged on ethanol like petrol. The expected reduction in engine life will be in a way that you be able to run that for 15 yrs only and rule of scrapage is all ready coming. So all in all consumers at a loss, government has the last laugh

There is no alternative to Petrol and Diesel. It may take next 15 years for EV. Hydrogen fuel is far better than EV.
Hydrogen is highly explosive. It will need very sophisticated engineering for street legal production vehicles.
Bana lo yaar hydrogen fuel...
right now hydrogen costs way more than both petrol and ev.
and yes right now it might not be practical for all but for many, it has started to make sense for example if you have a daily run of 100km+ then EV is the best bet it will be most pocket friendly and economical and a person that can own 2 car should use ev as the second to have the other only reserve for long trips.
