EXTREME Budget Build - Motor Built From Spare Parts For My 1968 Camaro
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 1 июл 2024
- Today we get to work on the motor is our 68 camaro. A few weeks ago we placed an old long block between the rails then started working on the rust repair. A little while ago I bought a bunch of left over small block chevy parts and today it finds a home.
Carb, intake, headers, water pump, valve covers, you name it.... I got it used. Hopefully it all goes together and runs properly.

This is the reason I like this channel because anyone can throw money at a project and build a car. But it takes talent to build one out of junk. I've been doing this almost 40 years and built many cars out of rich people's throwaways. JS
I love me some left overs haha
Have you ever owned a muscle car?
Junk is junk until it isn't. Junk dealer (on video or not) is a junk dealer. However a proud junk dealer is in a class all their own.
@@karlstehle8750 Please expand your comment, I'm truly interested.
I almost like using something I saved and didn’t have to buy than just buying a new part. Satisfying. A whole build from those parts is next level.
Mr. Gasket overhaul kits, were sold to EVERY backyard mechanic ,in the 70s
Another one saved. You gotta love this guy. He builds a starter car to make what ever you want.
Dani and Dan, I’m finally going to say it, everyday I start to say it and then I get wrapped up in the video and I forget. NOT TODAY, today I’m gonna say it, THANK YOU!!! I have no true way to realistically describe my feelings in the afternoon as I look forward to the DDSPEEDSHOP streaming educational program, brought to us in living color. You two are both amazing people and my pleasure to watch. I have actually stopped following a couple channels because of the lack of respect for shop safety and respect for the fact that they are supposed to be an example for people who are trying to learn. Dan, you truly are a gifted man who shows respect for the community and people who are watching. Thanks to you both! You remind me of a sleeper car, at first glance a person has no clue, then, You hear it and realize there’s a whole lot going on underneath the hair and hat.
Love you both.
I love it, Dan the sleeper car. New a.k.a. 😂
Can I get a DDSS multi tool! I wanna be cool like you. Seriously though can I?
Hey that's so much!
DD Speed Shop, always makes me smile. the team work is the best part. and i must say your both doing something right to have over 17,000 views in less than 5 hour of posting this video. love your channel keep on making the views smile and enjoying your video's.....
We always kept 2-3 of those Mr. Gasket rebuild kits around for both small blocks and big blocks back in the '70s!
This is a nice budget build for you and a nice project for the future owner. Looking forward to seeing it run and go 🇨🇦
Putting a motor together the DD Speed Shop way. Looking great. Cheers!! 😎
A dodo bird build the car for Danny
Your videos are the perfect documentation for any buyers.
They know exactly what they're buying - in today's fake world that's a huge deal.
Nice job on getting the turning over on the first start. The rest is coming together . Sweet. Keep up the great work.
Dan!! You're a force of nature.... unstopable! You get things done.
Amazing to see how this channel has grown. I remember watching back when you guys were going to give away the Bel Air at 55K Subscribers. Well deserved !!!!!!!!
Send her down the road and get that Chevelle started!
I wish he started with a better Chevelle but Dan has the skills.
Some days it all works! Some days, nothing works!
The amazing Dan Van go is making a new work of art rolling and driving again great show keep up the amazing work be safe my friends God bless all
Radiator just sitting around chillin. It's what they do my man😅
Hahahaa
Alright, alright, alright !!! I used to paint them old cork gaskets with flat black paint all over so as to keep oil seepage to a minimum - it works pretty well. Same with the cork pan gaskets. And don`t overtighten the little bolts !!! Not long before she makes some HEAT !!! Rave-On Danni and Dan !!!
Great video Dan. You guys are hilarious together, love it. Daniel is doing a really nice job on the video editing.
Dan is turning into Rad rods by Trey for the average Joe's like us!
Just amazed on how fast the videos come out ! And work being done Just waiting for a bunch of people to pop up in shot anytime now
Timing light ? Come on Dan. Advance it till it rump , rumps and back it off a little, the shade tree way , lmao.
Those rims look great on that Camaro
It's painful watching you work, but I keep coming back for more.
Can't all be perfect like you man
@@DDSpeedShop OUCH, Shots fired across the Bow, LMFAO.
Dan, Daniel my brother... You're a good man and you're trying to do right by the next owner of this Camaro, but you're wasting your time. Send it on its way as it sits. Whoever buys it will have to redo all of this anyway. You're the greatest! Signed - Your true friend, the Cancer guy! 😊
He’s clearing out all his spare parts for the future move plus it’s paying him with content
Plus it’s the point of the whole channel. Putting together cars with junk he has laying around is what he loves doing
@@nicolasstanley1392 At least somebody gets it.
Yes everything will need to be done but it gives the new owner a start and that is the thing most guys can't do (start from scratch). In short they need something to start with.
All right you two, get a room!
You're basically a blacksmith now Dan
Dan put that big block 396 in that Z28 would make who ever buys it leg get stiff every time they get in it so true nothing like the sound and feel of a BBC
Thanks for the video.
The no mystery Camaro, no surprises hidden by a bomb can rebuild, you can really see what you are getting into if you buy it. Here at DD Speed Shop auto sales bring your wallet and your trailer to make your hot rod dreams come true. Some vehicles may have extra surprise items tucked away in the trunk as a bonus.
You are killing it Dan and dani ..
MOM HE’S TOUCHING MY STEERING BOX !
This is TRUE hot rodding right here. Well sought of anyways.
Woot woot, T-shirt is on the way! Won't be long now and I can wipe up that oil spot on the garage floor.
Oh thanks so much!
Send it and Spend it$! Do it Danno!
The Best Cork Gasket Ever Made
Thanks for sharing this video with us
That ol girl is looking good
It's time to do what to make the move you have one special girlfriend. 😊
I have the same set of headers. Had to install the headers first, then the steering box.
GOOD JOB DAN!...... LOOKS GREAT!
A miscellaneous bag is like a box of chocolates.
I always find something haha
Man this camairo is coming along faster than I thought 😮 nice work Dan 👍
Thanks for another , Brother !
I believe the engine that was stuck is in Danis 57
It's going to be as nice as the other one
Hey Dan&Dannie
Good of you to get the car into a "mover," I am sure the future buyer will appreciate it.
Take care 😊
I think you need to add some flexi hoses and sell that pile to Mortske just so we can watch him pick it apart and use some uncivilized language when he discovers all the silicon.
He'd learn a thing or 2 taking it apart
what happened to Mur Monday podcast?
Got busy
Ok, Bob in Texas ordered a couple shirts an' stickers, I'd of ordered a hat or two as well but there weren't any "Dad hat" aka "unstructured" versions and those are the only ones that look decent on my mutated pumpkin shaped noggin.
So that’s the 350 out of the fiberglass car, I thought you got it running! With the right hammer you can make anything fit!
Looking really good Dan. Such a great start to endless potential. 👍😎✌️
Actually,......if 2 much silicone squishes inside, then shears off, it can plug the heater core inlet/inlet pipe off the block.
you go dan you still the man GBU😀😀😀😀😀😀😀
Coming along nicely Dan and Dani
Back in the 70s the blocks, heads intake manifolds and exhaust manifolds were cast at the foundry in Tonawanda NY as part of the Chevrolet engine complex.
Thanks!
WOW, Very Generous.
Dan is the talent, but she is the editor. With a whim, Dan is on the cutting room floor (or bit bucket, to modern)
Haha
Junk!!!! That '68 is worth $1500 US as is (withthewheels). Might be worth a little more for the entertaining vid. I am a subscriber to this channel for the torture 😊
15. 000 thousands ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Need some product on the header bolts so the next person should be able to remove them easier
What get neighbors!
Good times 🎉 nice job with motor. I wouldn’t hesitate to drive it cross country 🎉
Dan. You can get in the twenties for that car👍💯
I dunno about that haha

Having all of the front dress stuff for a short water pump is extremely difficult to find now . I've thrown away so many sets it's embarrassing to admit . Time to list the Camaro for sale . It'll sell really quick .
I'm hoping so
Its getting there
The best Ketchup is Whataburger spicy ketchup Mmmm mmmm
Good. Job. D D. 🎉🎉😊

The "Only Dan's" is totally worth the $9.99 😍👌
It’s time for another good one 👍👍
At 19:25; I thought the same, "air quotes". ;-D
👍🏻🍻
*
😁👍
If it were me (?) ; )*) I'd break down and put the rally head light assembly in .that and some corvette rally wheels " wider" . I just think you could get that much more for it ....worth the time and trouble...and investment
Look my man don't let it go for no less than 24,000.
😂😂😂 lmao.
12. To. 15 in my neck of the woods
Is that in pesos?
Dan's quality and honest effort to save this field wreck deserves at least 17,000 big ones!
@@markstevens835 12-15 gets you a crappy shell in canada or a very rough roller that needs a lot of sheetmetal
I. am interested in the 47 Chevy I have been a Chevy mechanic all my life I can no longer do mechanic work since my heart attack 7 years ago my wife and I have been married for 58 years we live on social security we just get by I would be a great caretaker of your car but don't know how I would even get it to Oklahoma let alone afford it thank you love your channel and your work ethic
Join the club, I'm darn near right with ya as are many I imagine.
Thank God you saved another car from rusting in a field, someone will enjoy this car and make how they want it. ❤️👍🤍👍💙👍
Dani you need more variety of your work shirts heck put the tow truck on one with DD speed shop name
Yo Dani I've did my part I have ordered two of your work shirts black one and a blue one I know they are the same just different colors but Dan won't put the yellow nova or the grey 55 or one of those Camaros would be cool but he won't listen . Remember you gotta have it to sell
Yes Sir!!!
What size engine Dan!
How much can we get for a pile of our finest junk....I love it!!!
Haha top dollar
Wait a minute. Isn't the timing relocation tool also the header adjustment installation tool ??? Actually it's a (semi) pro builders universal adjustment and relocation fine 31:40 tuning implement. It works on EVERYTHING! Oh 31:40 31:40 And by the way it also drives nails. Plumbers visiting the house are encouraged to bring their own.
It's the best tool haha
That’s the nastiest caulk gun I’ve ever seen.😂
Interested in those slot mags if you are selling them.....
Yup. There's a lot of 9/16 and 1/2 socket theft here as well
