Recently started playing kdm with a group again and we've agreed that magnetizing them is considered "The Great Work" and is like some mythical thing to aspire to aha
I'm doing the same for my necromunda but is only for the weaponry and is a ton of work. I'm using magnets only for the body and for the arms small aluminum pieces cutted out from aluminum lids from jams. Is strong enough to keep the arms in position.
Just getting into KDM. Trying to figure out. if you don't plan to magnetize. Do folks just pick one of the setups they like and commit to it? Then just declare the specifics on their player grid?
Magnetized first, prime second, paint third. Final step is a good sealer. On these I used Army Painters Quickshade Miniature Varnish to cut down on time since it acts as a shade too.
The big question is: how many hours would you say it took to magnetize the core minis?
This must have taken a long time. But amazing work

The aluminum is a great idea, you don't have to worry about the polarization of the magnets!
Have you ever got a shield to work in a hand, like a weapon? I’m struggling with that currently.

Second link with magnets and drill bits not working. Can you please direct to a different link?
Your a genius
I love this.
Which did you do first: Magnetize or paint?

Great result, love it ... but for me it's too much hard, tiny work. I want to play KD:M and not work it ... ;)
I agree! In hindsight I don't know if I would do it all over again :).
