    New to KDM here. And am really excited to get my 1.6 core box. After watching this, I’ll most probably get the Echoes of Death, Pinups of Death and the single white boxes for my survivors. The sculpts are way better than the core and like you said they mostly have meta builds.
    Thank you for making this vid and all the vids of your gameplays.

      I am excited for you! I am glad this game is getting to reach more players. The sculpts of the white boxes are well worth the investment. Echoes even have some great FA included. Win Win.

    Thanks for this. Some useful info here. Only played one campaign and other than core stuff we just immortalised minis who had a significant impact. My awesome Katar wielding female staring up at a monstrous beast with a noisy harp laying at her feet... Gamblers chest looks amazing. I just couldn't justify the cost on something I rarely play and I have all of wave 1 still sealed.

      Glad I could help! I agree, it is great to immortalize your favorite survivors.

  • @hraughr
    @hraughr 2 года назад +2

    Your "bad" survivor is a crucial one that you can use till the end game. Rawhide coupled with a "see hit locations" item makes for a commander build. A survivor that will reveal both AI and hit locations and since that is their only job, they van as well carry the pickaxe and sickle and having those as early as possible can be campaign saving.
    So in a sense you without knowing made the longest lasting, most meta survivor. Because the armed ones change during the game according to the best gear you have, while you don't need to change a thing about this one and they can be your physically weakest one.

    • @BraMithra
      @BraMithra  2 года назад +1

      That is true. I was more so commenting on it being the only set of survivor legs that is not in a standing pose. I wish they had more varied ones.

    I'm almost 100% with you. I'm weapon, gender, armor. But I love the video, great work!!!

    • @BraMithra
      @BraMithra  3 года назад

      Weapon is key, helps bring alive ownership of the sculpt to the gear grid. I perhaps should have given slightly more insight on gender sculpts in KDM. They are heavily favored toward female sculpts, that might suggest building core male survivors with more meta builds. You could be on to something with gender second.

    • @TeChNoWC7
      @TeChNoWC7 2 года назад

      Personally I go gender, armor and then weapon - usually.

  • @madquest8
    @madquest8 3 года назад +2

    I agree with a lot of what you said. Go for Gender and weapons. As such I think it's safe to build the starting survivors, intimacy couple, young girl and old joe as well and someone with a bow (usually that will be the kneeling sculpt). You are almost certainly going to use an archer at some point. I also, personally, think a counterweighted Axe is a good bet... and that you identify figures by weapon ahead of figures with armour, so get a feel for what weapons you like, then build figures that use those. :)

    • @BraMithra
      @BraMithra  3 года назад +1

      You are correct. Bows are something that you will usually prioritize making, and getting them early is something you will want to go for at some point. CWA is something I think I forgot to mention, but I did include it in the description as a great option for a leather survivor.

    Oh and I put magnets on my base if I can I carver them I. So I can place them on like a plastic case with a metal paper so the magnets hold it in place so they don't brake in transport and I do mean like the lion and large models and any that are not magnet pieces

      I like the idea of putting magnets in bases and uses a cooking tin/tray to store them all on - any good vids showing best way to approach? Best magnets? Guessing I’ll need a hand drill too, any suggestions?

  • @tedcogley1939
    @tedcogley1939 3 года назад +1

    I have small rare earth magnets. Place magnets in top torso (chest ) shoulders, waist, and neck. Then add them to the lower torso that be the pelvis and legs. Then do multi arms with weapons and 1-2 non-weapon hand. You can place a magnet in opposite slot placement to the top torso. So your arm fits and legs fit, and heads. You can place magnets on shields and 1 place in the back of the torso so it sit on the back and possible 1 in a arm of you are careful. Now not saying do this but if you know what you are doing you can put magnets between the hand and the arm, but please be very careful. I'm not a great hobbyist but I do know how to do this so good luck and happy playing

    • @BraMithra
      @BraMithra  3 года назад

      I thought about suggesting magnets, but I did not do it myself and can understand the hesitancy people could have in doing it. I can say from experience with painting, magnets would make painting more difficult poses a lot easier.

    I’m personally building a custom character only once per campaign. That’s actually after the campaign as well. He or she will be custom and then I will put him or her in a shadow box with the character sheet. I just play with the starting characters. Build all the boss’s.

    Just my personal take, certainly not the best or most efficient method, but what works for me to maximise my fun.
    I make models, paint and base as I need them, from the ground up, as they appear in my campaign. This certainly is inefficient (ie not batch painting survivor groups to ensure paint consistency) but it gives it so much more flavour for me. Each character has an assigned model that never changes, and when they die, I don’t use that model again in the campaign.
    For future campaigns I pick the model that best suits that character from the pre existing made ones, and if none do, time to make another.

    Hey man I have the 1.5 core box with the 1.6 card update pack, all 1.6 expansions and GC. You mentioned the different scale of things moving forward. Did they change the mini sizes from 1.5 to 1.6 core box? Do you think it'd just be a good idea to try and find the 1.6 core box of minis to replace the 1.5 core ones with?

    • @BraMithra
      @BraMithra  9 месяцев назад +1

      They did not update the scale of the mini's in the 1.6 core box. The increase in the scale started happening in the white boxes, the first being echoes 1, to the best of my knowledge. It is not worth tracking down the 1.6 core.

    Just a piece of advice for anyone who’s reading this - don’t give weapons duplicates to survivors UNLESS a weapon has “paired” keyword, e.g. katars. My SA girl ended up with 2 Muramasas (a unique katana that can only be unlocked via hunt event), so now this mini doesn’t make sense lore-wise and meta-wise.

    Hey so I have the core 1.5 box with the upgrade pack to 1.6
    Is that a different scale than the gamblers chest and the other expansions?

    I haven’t opened any of the expansions yet. Are they a different size as well??

      The best place is KDM-collector. That is a archive of all the lore blurbs from all the shop. After that, Lantern's Reign discord lore channel is always a good time. I have made a primer video for understanding how the lore is delivered in this game. I also have 2 very long gencon interviews with Poots.

    Will the 1.6 core set alway the 4 start survivors the the lion and the antelope. From there base leg for unarmoured only the legs and waist. Sorry the waist is only going to be the set that it is. Get a drill pin set. And then a nice magnet the fits the waist, but is not bigger then it drill a hole and set the magnet. From there get your torso. Here you can glue a head on if ypu like it just do magnets. Same as the waist make it a small then the space you have these magnet you can get on eBay or Amazon they range from like 2mm and bigger. Oh I can't stress this enough do not glue the.magnet unless you are the opposite pole. So north to south you you'll be digging magnets.out with a very razor sharp knife my hand and fingers know it well. After that pick and choose your arms and hands and head if you need a flat surface gently slice the round edge so you can drill and pin. Now the hands and arm. Are a problem the magnet size maybe the magnet size maybe the same as you hand like wrist area. So if you don't want to glue slice the wrist off and glue a magnet down. Then fit it to the wrist on the arm. If you feel the a wrist look weird maybe cutting off some of that may look good. So I hope all of what I said help everyone I am by no means a great miniature hobbyist I fail as much as I succeed. An alway be safe with using the drill pin set , dermal if you have one and cutting knife. Be safe have fun and if you wish ask I can show you some of my paints and magnet fun enjoy bye-bye
