Hey Sarah - I know this is an old video, but though you’d appreciate knowing that your penchant ( much nicer word than “obsession”) for keeping your cars very clean has rubbed off just a bit. In the last week I got an electric pressure washer and a foam cannon. I’ve washed my car twice now and my wife’s once (hers is in the garage). I’m certainly not going into every nook and cranny as you do, but they are cleaner. We’ve both been doing the touch less car wash thing roughly monthly, so I’ll break even on the purchase soon enough. Plus, the driveway, sidewalk, front porch are all clean now, too!
This is my exact setup and it’s legit! I’ve never seen your channel before, I’m not really one of those guys who watches someone’s channel just to stare at the person lol but you actually knew a lot about what you were talking about even more so than most people, the only thing is the foam cannon I believe was always meant to use a washmit or sponge also, the foam cannon is just a way to apply the soap easily to the car. Great video!
Thank you for your honest equipment review Sarah. I own a RAM 3500 dually, (because: horses), and I can't take it through a regular car-wash. My detail guy comes out every couple of months or so and your suggested set-up should help keep my truck, ('Pablo'), presentable in the interim.
Sarah! Your videos, and editing style, have been a great find for me over the last 2 months. I legit binged your channel, and Peter Mckinions, this last two weeks. Subie life might be in my future next month, you make a good case for the Forester over the standard wrx. Nice job, keep doing what you're doing.
Hi from Canada. After watching this video I went on a hunt for this pressure washer. Lo and behold it was on clearance sale at the Home Depot. I bought it for $118CAD (about $80USD). I also ordered the foam gun and it arrived in 1 day. Love the combo. Thanks for the useful review.
I use the same Ryobi for daily household deck, siding, and driveway cleaning; and I wholeheartedly agree. I haven't gone through and read all of the comments so someone else may have already mentioned it (tough toodles). The only way to use the onboard soap dispenser is to utilize the (blue) low pressure fitting, and it does not foam so much as it makes heavy soapy water. Not enough pressure. Again, love the Ryobi. I never contemplated the quick connects...great idea!
I have the same pressure washer and I use it to detail cars. I had it for 2.5 years from Home Depot for $99. I love it and never failed me. Most others will burn out after extensive use but not this one. The only issue I had with it is the plug shorted out and melted the plastic. I replaced it and no issues any more. The straps on the sides make storing the hose and wire so easy. It's a great washer for the price. Oh, the other nozzles are one for low pressure dispensing of soap from the soap dispenser and you are correct, the foam gun does better job. The last nozzle sprays in a circular tornado type spray, it's excellent when you have a sensitive surface where you don't want the high pressure may damage it, Plasti dipped car is an example. Finally, yes, no pressure washer will clean a car, you have to use a mitt and go over it to remove the stuck grime.
Good advice!! One of the first jobs I had as teenager was washing used cars at a dealership. I blew off the paint on more than one car hood using a high pressure washer. Great video and glad you are feeling better.
I paid 79 at Home Depot during the spring Black Friday sale and bought the dushichin foam cannon for 13 dollars so less than a $100 dollars for a car wash great review and makes washing cars fast and quick
Sarah thank you so much for the effort in helping us with foam guns and small pressure washers I have only only one suggestion to help us guys pay more attention to the car and what you are working on. Please keep your butt out of the picture. Sarah you are beautiful allover, on this guy side of the fence we appreciate you and your input help. God bless you dear!
As of Aug 18. 2019, when I watched this video, at Home Depot - Rypbi -- 1600PSI - $98 -- 1800PSI $140 -- Foam Gun $18 (no Extension) Really enjoyed the video - keep them coming
great video! noticed when you were spraying the foam though that the spray pattern looks to be a bit wide (could just be the camera angle), also try going from the back of the car to the front and from bottom to top, allows the foam to dwell on the dirtier areas more. You can also use wheel and bug cleaner under snow foam as it gives a longer dwell time, spray on and foam over! keep up the good work mate, great videos!
Electric pressure washer technology has come on the last few years... My SunJoe (2030 psi & 2.4gpm) kicks ass!... Slightly more ($150) than your Ryobi ....I too have a " turbo nozzle"... They're definitely a good value if you don't want/ need a much more expensive gas unit.. . Nice work Sarah!.. Have a good one...👈
Your gun firing sound effect is absolutely perfect, on the money, it’s the way it is done, ordinary people do not know how to imitate that bullet sound. I wonder where you acquired that rather insignificant skill, as well as your talent of merely looking oh so fine...
Best part of using a foam cannon to me is the speed, you can suds it up, wash with mitt or brush, spray off and done. Use a good PH balanced soap and drying isn't really necessary. I also use chemical guys maxi suds soap (strawberry margarita smells so good) and it works extremely well with a cannon. Pro tip for those new with cannons, even though it's easy to play with to get the settings right, turn the knob on top to - for the maximum suds but of course you will go through a bit more soap. And when you put the soap in the bottle fill it up the rest of the way with water.
Just a heads up while the water softener may help a bit with waterspots the best is to go with a De-Ionizer system. For the water I have I use both a softener and a DI system.
If using the soap dispenser on the pressure washer, use the blue spray nozzle. No soap will come out if you use the yellow one. It drains the soap super quick too.
I have a cheesy small version of the foam gun on my garden hose sprayer. It works OK. Your Foamer puts out a lot more foam. For a weekly wash of a surface street/expressway driven car, it should be enough for handsfree. Think i might pick one up.
Fairly new to this channel, so working my way through the videos. This was helpful. I already had that exact same Foam Cannon and had a 2000 psi electric pressure washer.. What I did NOT have, however, was that water softener. But I do now. Or at least I will in about a week. 😁 Thanks for posting the link, Sarah. Mucho appreciated. 👍🏽
I have a similar setup only with the KÄRCHER K2, which is very popular in Europe, it's great to use with the foam gun but does not work as a hands-free wash either, even with the special soap, which is honestly worse than regular car shampoo with water (1:50). I have added a KÄRCHER rotary brush and now it feels like a complete set, works great for me :)
i just got me a foam cannon, and i learnt with other youtube videos if you swap the orfice in the cannon to a 1.1 mm you get more foam, and a uberflex hose is better then what it comes with
Oh, and the "on board soap" is just a quick way of going through soap/wash/degreaser/whatever and potentially making your hose and pump and fittings lifespan shorter... Great tip too suggesting running water through (purge) before you turn on the pump...
Never used a foam gun when I wash my car. Like the idea of the filter too as everything spots up here in Central Florida. I usually use my leaf blower to blow off the water quickly!! Gets a thumbs up. And "Hi" from a New England guy...Cape Cod!!
Been looking at foam cannons forever, seems everyone else's blanket advice is "get one" as opposed to actually testing one. Thanks for the video/review, think I will pick this one up finally.
Equipment and material recommendations are always helpful. Some people are just hateful. Ignore stupidity from haters. If you don’t acknowledge it, maybe they will just leave. Just a thought. You’re doing good. Keep it up!
You’ve given me a great tip ! Thank you. I haven’t even known a stuff called “foam cannon” exists. We can wash a car without scratching the car surface, and can prevent damaging the coating. It’s a bolt from the blue⚡️😊
Just bought my Ryobi gas pressure washer yesterday, plan on using it today. However, Nerta makes a soap that will clean without touching the car. Even super heavy caked on kind of dirt. For anyone reading this, check out their videos on cleaning semi trucks. However, for the average user, always use a microfiber mitt and towels and you should be able to keep scratches and swirls to a minimum. Its virtually impossible to never get them again.
I own a detail shop... While most pro Detailers will tell you foaming a car isn’t necessary to wash without marring, and it’s mostly a waste of product, it’s a ton of fun :) I foam mostly because I want to. It makes it fun. I use a 4gpm pressure washer, so it gets the car really clean, but a mitt is still required on uncoated cars and really dirty coated cars. Don’t worry about using that pressure washer on a car your detailing. Just keep the tip back from the paint. I train my employees 12” from plastic painted parts and 6” from paint. Even my big pressure washer won’t hurt a car with a crappy repaint.
Fantastic point. Foam (especially ph neutral) will do absolutely nothing, your pressure washer does all the work. I do however foam the car because it looks fun lol and i use the foam as additional lube for the 2 bucket method as the same time. Curious with your 12in from plastic and 6 from paint what PSI washers are you using or is that universal?
I have that same cannon. I love it. The soap used in it has an impact on foam. I however need to up my soap game on mine. I like your pressure washer better than mine.
Wow you’re serious as heck in this video presentation; speaking wise and explaining. You’ve grown no disrespect but from some reason yo just seem different. Anyway I’ve always appreciated the hard work you put in front of Tater Tot to the MR 2 to the QUATTRO Audi👍 Not but admiration for all you’ve accomplished as well as serving our country. Shout out to Charlie what a true friend 🫡
Bought a new Crosstrek last Sat and my pressure washer and foam gun came in on Monday. Been snowing or 20-30 degrees here all week. They put salt on the road when we have snow. My car looks like crap. Supposed to get to about 60 on Tuesday....that will be my car wash day with my foam cannon! Great video and thanks! Still think you should have worn the bikini....LOL
Good review, I use a similarly priced cannon from amazon, its been a gem. Next time you are stocking up on product give Optimum Car Wash soap a spin, its cheaper by volume, (roughly .37 cents per oz vs .56 cents per oz for Maxi Suds), you'll use similar amounts per use and still produces great suds and leaves nothing behind (for coated cars) . I detail a bit also so I like products that go a long way.
Hi I usually 1-2oz of car soap (Mr.Pink) but I mixed with warm water. I noticed that it makes more foam using warm water and if you changed the orifice nozzle screw from the foam cannon to a 1.1mm it makes thicker foam. Hope it works for you.
Ryobi has a pressure washer that's 1700PSI that's on wheels, has a handle and places to roll up and store the power cable and hose. I bought it at Home Depot a couple years ago and think it was only a little more than the one you have.
For durability i would go with something other than a ryobi. They work great when they work. I have gone through 3 of them in one year. i was washing 5 to 30 cars a day. Im using a hyper tough now. It is going on 8 months with no problems and with better foam output.
I'm a simple minded folk. I haven't fully washed my car in 2 years. Perhaps I have sprayed it with water once or twice per year when it's absolutely filthy, but most of the time I use a car duster, Griot's Garage Speed Shine and plush microfiber towels every week. And my paint still looks like new. I guess the key is to not let dirt and grime build up.
Sarah, great video on washing and cleaning with a pressure sprayer. You mentioned not touching the paint and was wondering what air dryer you use to avoid rubbing the paint with a drying towel? Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
You did an awesome job with the video. Ryobi tools are great (most have a 2-3 year warranty). The filter is also a good idea; I too live in AZ on well water and if you let that dry on the windows you have to clean them with a hammer. Great video; keep them coming.
As far as I know, the rotary /tornado nozzle is far more aggressive than the standard nozzles it comes with and shouldn’t be used on car paintwork. It is more suitable for paths, garage floors and walls, etc,. Karcher call it the dirt blaster nozzle and they recommend you don’t use it for cleaning cars. As it will literally take paint off of a brick wall. But as always another great video.
I actually have the same pressure washer. The sun Joe spx3001 is a bit more powerful. the ryobi is really loud. I put my QDs on my garden hose / hose nozzle /pressure washer inlet, and just leave the gun hooked up. To deal with the power cord and pressure hose, I just stuff the whole thing in a plastic bin.
G'day, Sarah! "When the human cannonball retired, they couldn't find a replacement of the 'right caliber'." A nice machine! Totally unbelievable the way this little thing works. Have a terrific weekend! Cheers! :-)🚙☺️
Foaming isn't tottally wasted time activity , you have fun and it also helps the dirt fall off. then you wash it down and foam it again if you're worried. and then wash it down.
The less touching the vehicle the fewer swirls, so foaming is an essential aspect of the initial clean. Use a dedicated snow foam, you can use a detail brush as the foam dwells around the gaps and shuts.A 2bm wash plus air dry will prolong that ceramic from Nanolex. #detailingworld
Tip: only use car soap on cars, not dish soap. The car soap is designed to take off road grime, oil, tar, etc. but will not harm the car finish like dish soap will.
Ha!!! Yes, buying stuff just for the fun of it. Ie...paintball, video games, water cannons and yes, FOAM GUNS!!! Keep up the great work!!! Ryobi is a good purchase ....and mobile water filter key. Texas water is all kinds of hard too.
Love you're videos! Fellow off-road Forester owner here! I have a 2008 SG forester I will definitely look into getting this set up. If you need a guinea pig car for a video I'm local in Tucson and would volunteer! My paint is really messed up as well 😅. Missed you at the rally X in town! Hope to see new videos and see around the car scene!
I've been using the same CG snow foam through the CG foam cannon. I have found that the higher pressure pressure washers allow for a better coverage of foam. I went from the small electric pressure washer to my honda one and it actually did make a huge difference. If it's in the budget you should try a stronger one out for home use. :)
I have a herd of unicorns, and I can attest that this pressure washer and foam cannon set-up is rad! It removes the dirt but doesn't remove the rainbow!
Sarah, excellent video, I just found your channel and have learned a lot so far. You mentioned not to touch the paint, what air dryer do you use to avoid rubbing on the paint? Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
I'm no detailer but the only down side i see to the snow foam lance is if you just wanna give your car a quick clean then you gotta pull all the pressure washer and foam gun and crap out of the garage so sometimes id rather just spray it down with a hose and wash with a mitt just cos its quicker
Thanks for the review. Your wrap up comments (and honesty) were good information. I have a similar pressure washer and haven't tried using car-wash solution in the on-board detergent feed. Would you mind trying yours and letting us know how it compares to the foam cannon? Thanks!
Sarah!! Good video 👍😎 is good to know a little bit of each person share knowledge different ways or the ease way My opinion she deserve some respect Sarah God bless you
I stumbled across your 2019 TRD Pro video as I was shopping for one. Great job on your videos and love your sense of humor. You and my wife have striking similarities, I swear your her long lost sister. Anyhow, my question, is there a safe setting you use on your power washer as to not accidentally force water into headlights or blast of trim accidentally?
i usually put 2 oz of soap in the bottle and fill the rest with water. use 1/2 the bottle to foam. wait 5 mins and then rinse with pressure washer. the i use the other half and foam again and use a wash mitt to clean the car. if a car is really dirty just foam and rinse will not get it clean. gotta scrub with a mitt.
Hey Sarah! Just bought a refurbished one for $49! What tip did you use to rinse? I like it just as well as you do. Only downside is maybe length of water line if wanting to walk around the car. Just scared of having something electronic close to car when spraying water due to switch location is on top.
Hey Sarah - I know this is an old video, but though you’d appreciate knowing that your penchant ( much nicer word than “obsession”) for keeping your cars very clean has rubbed off just a bit. Your sense of humor gained you another subscriber. Rock on, Sarah!
Anyone who watches AMMO NYC channel totally gets why your doing these steps. Your well spoken and explain everything perfectly. Well done.
As of Aug 18. 2019, when I watched this video, at Home Depot -
Rypbi -- 1600PSI - $98 -- 1800PSI $140 -- Foam Gun $18 (no Extension)
Really enjoyed the video - keep them coming
great video! noticed when you were spraying the foam though that the spray pattern looks to be a bit wide (could just be the camera angle), also try going from the back of the car to the front and from bottom to top, allows the foam to dwell on the dirtier areas more.
You can also use wheel and bug cleaner under snow foam as it gives a longer dwell time, spray on and foam over!

You can also put a water hose quick disconnect to make it easier to connect the water hose to the pressure washer. Keep up the good work!
Your gun firing sound effect is absolutely perfect, on the money, it’s the way it is done, ordinary people do not know how to imitate that bullet sound. I wonder where you acquired that rather insignificant skill, as well as your talent of merely looking oh so fine...
Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. While at it, add Bilt Hamber Surfex HD 5 liter can in the shopping basket - I use it and it's an excellent APC.
I have this pressure washer and it gets the job done. I really like it.
Thanks Sara, just bought my power washer at Home Depot for 80 bucks, can’t wait to try it
If using the soap dispenser on the pressure washer, use the blue spray nozzle.
Welcome back. So glad you’re feeling better.
You can buy a quick disconnect for the water hose also. Home Depot or Lowes or anywhere else really that sells them and stuff.
I'm from Europe, never knew you screw in a water outlet counterclockwise 5:52 😂
another benefit is it probably saves a lot on water usage too (important here in the southwest)
Fairly new to this channel, so working my way through the videos. This was helpful. I already had that exact same Foam Cannon and had a 2000 psi electric pressure washer.. I think its interesting that you added quick disconnects to the hose but didnt remove the label from the cord @~9"50
Buy Chemical Guys Honeydoo Snow Foam. Its like shaving cream when it comes out. You'll be even more amazed.
Thanks for this video about the foam cannon. Your videos are awesome! Kudos to you!
Ryobi has a pressure washer that's 1700PSI that's on wheels, has a handle and places to roll up and store the power cable and hose. I bought it at Home Depot a couple years ago and think it was only a little more than the one you have.
Can you do the bikini version in May when it heats up?
Can you do it in May when I heat up!
This is why theres not many girls actually into cars. Grow up please.
joe hicks true but naw fr i wanna see her bikini shots
Yes I'm sure she will think about it . Nice pseudo name Harvey Weinstein
Harvey Weinstein?....you're going to have to explain that one..
For durability i would go with something other than a ryobi. They work great when they work. I have gone through 3 of them in one year. i was washing 5 to 30 cars a day. Im using a hyper tough now. It is going on 8 months with no problems and with better foam output.
I had that exact same PW and I killed it......I bought the one the next size up from that, hope I don’t kill this one!
Great informative video, thanks. Wished you would have commented on how loud the Ryobi electric pressure washer is compared to a gas powered ones.
Great video. Very informative and well demonstrated.

Hey !!
This foam cannon thing is catching on in UK
Got one from Amazon 👍
Nice video! i wish i would have seen more details regarding the water softener. The bottom line: very useful info
I love my foam cannon but I don't use it as a replacement for a 2 bucket wash, but use it more as a supplement to the 2 bucket wash
Thanks for the videos. I've ordered the foam cannon and water softener. Maybe it will motivate me to wash my car more often.....
You did an awesome job with the video. Ryobi tools are great (most have a 2-3 year warranty). The filter is also a good idea; I too live in AZ on well water and if you let that dry on the windows you have to clean them with a hammer. Great video; keep them coming.
Hook a hose up to your hot water heater. Good way to drain your heater and use hot water for the wash.
I liked this review, looks honest, and answered a lot of questions about the foam gun. I think I will pass on it. thanks
G'day, Sarah! "When the human cannonball retired, they couldn't find a replacement of the 'right caliber'." A nice machine! Totally unbelievable the way this little thing works. Have a terrific weekend! Cheers! :-)🚙☺️
Because it's fun. That's the best reason to buy anything!
I use the same setup works great for detail work.
PH Balance 0 Soaps are best I use Adam's Polish car shampoo and it works wonderfully in foam cannons
Foaming isn't tottally wasted time activity , you have fun and it also helps the dirt fall off. then you wash it down and foam it again if you're worried. and then wash it down.
Hi, did you notice a pressure problem using the inline filter?? Thanks for the videos..
Good seeing you back at it!!!! Great review!
Pro tip add about 1oz of dish soap to the mix,and teh foam will be ultra thick! I do that with my Jeep, and can have 1" thick of foam on there.
I have the same one and it works great
Sarah, excellent video, I just found your channel and have learned a lot so far. You mentioned not to touch the paint, what air dryer do you use to avoid rubbing on the paint? Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Ken
I'm no detailer but the only down side i see to the snow foam lance is if you just wanna give your car a quick clean then you gotta pull all the pressure washer and foam gun and crap out of the garage so sometimes id rather just spray it down with a hose and wash with a mitt just cos its quicker
i have this setup as well and love it for cars and my motorcycles and other toys
Thanks for the review. Your wrap up comments (and honesty) were good information. I have a similar pressure washer and haven't tried using car-wash solution in the on-board detergent feed. Would you mind trying yours and letting us know how it compares to the foam cannon? Thanks!
Wow I can't stop watching your videos
Sarah!! Good video 👍😎 is good to know a little bit of each person share knowledge different ways or the ease way My opinion she deserve some respect Sarah God bless you
I want one now! Great review :)
Do you remember where you got the quick disconnects??
I stumbled across your 2019 TRD Pro video as I was shopping for one. Great job on your videos and love your sense of humor. You and my wife have striking similarities, I swear your her long lost sister. Anyhow, my question, is there a safe setting you use on your power washer as to not accidentally force water into headlights or blast of trim accidentally?
Like the video on the pressure washer Sarah- n- tuned .
i usually put 2 oz of soap in the bottle and fill the rest with water. use 1/2 the bottle to foam. wait 5 mins and then rinse with pressure washer. the i use the other half and foam again and use a wash mitt to clean the car. if a car is really dirty just foam and rinse will not get it clean. gotta scrub with a mitt.
That’s a cool pressure washer. Very compact I have to say Charlie is a very lucky guy.
Sarah: you said you used to teaspoons of detergent in the bottle.....did you then fill the bottle with water or just the 2 tablespoons?
I like it when you zoom in on awkward or quirky moments. It's funny
Hey Sarah! Just bought a refurbished one for $49! What tip did you use to rinse? I like it just as well as you do. Only downside is maybe length of water line if wanting to walk around the car. Just scared of having something electronic close to car when spraying water due to switch location is on top.
Nice , use 2 to 3 oz and you’ll get way more foam . Love the new hair , feel better love ya Jersey .
Enjoyed the video Sarah. Thank you!
Thanks so much for this video, I have the same pressure washer and a similar foam gun.. nice to see a video about it
Try s100 wash i use it on bikes ,cars ,atvs you will love it and try the quick wax
