I am a Christian and seminary student, and most religious films/shows are terrible regarding acting and actually telling the story. The way this show has portrayed Jesus, it is the best I have seen.
ABSOLUTELY! The Entire Production is Phenomenal and multilayered, I am watching the available seasons again and I am appreciating the show even more. Last night I watched season 3 episode 3 when this scene takes place and in my opinion, it is one the most powerful scene in the show so far, without diminishing any other powerful scenes (and there are many) that came before or after. Masterpiece!

@@LOGICLOGOSpassion shows Jesus a warrior/ John Wayne type character. Passion has a penal substitutionary atonement model… one that is on the line of heretical. This portal is more in line with early church fathers. Obviously we have not see crucifixion yet but Jesus in chosen is more more in line with historical Jesus and in line with the biblical story.
Shouldn't we be praying for the cast and crew of the chosen lionsgate Hollywood and the crew member with the flag 🚩 to come to Jesus instead of arguing about this issue. I am not sugarcoating the topic but Jesus came and died for everyone just like the crew member with the pride flag so hopefully they will see the message and come to Jesus in their own way and time.

I have enjoyed the movies. The main point is to get the world to know we do have a God. We do have a Jesus, and he did for the sins of the world. What movie about Jesus is perfect? Very few people object to LGBTQ people being employed by the Chosen.The issue is Dallas' defense of his employee's using the show to promote LGBTQ issues. He could have nipped all this in the bud by saying that it is not the Chosen's policy to inject current politics into the show, that the flag's appearance was an accident, and that they will police this more closely in the future.
Instead, he has responded with dissembling, condescension and pride. For years, he solicited donations for the show, and that gave him the start to become so successful that the leftist, Lionsgate bought the Chosen a couple of weeks ago. It's inconceivable that he didn't know allowing a Pride flag to appear in a public offering would upset many of his supporters. Yet he took their money. This was a terrible betrayal.

I am just glad that i have the 3 seasons because they are good. The movie Risen is excellent too. I can hardly stand the Scribes and Pharisees who, in Jesus' Words " ...you strain at a gnat and ( then) swallow a camel". Let's look at the bigger picture, check our hearts and "... not that all wickedness can be avoided, otherwise You'd ( the Father) have to take them ( we very ones here to make a difference ) out of this world ( accomplising nothing for the Kingdom)"...( my added emphasis for clarity). Please lets not fall into the very world's ways that we despise by continuing factions. THE ACTORS AND THEME ARE GREAT! Let them carry on...please!
I think all this contraversy is being used by Satan to deminish the value of this show so people won't watch it and promote it. Let's face it, Satan
will come again all things that promote the Gospel. Maybe we need to take back the intended meaning of the Rainbow that God gave us for His Glory, and as a sign that there will never be another world wide flood to wipe out humanity.

May I remind all humbly that GOD is in control not man, and God loves his Gay kids just as much as He loves his hypocrite kids, his gossiping kids, his self righteous kids, his kids that think their better than others. The Rainbow is a reminder to us all that GOD keeps his promises. We have great opportunity now in this present age to show the world how much we love each other. We are all imperfect, not one of us deserves GOD's blessings, that is why we call it GRACE. We get what we do not deserve that is unmerited favor all because of HIS MERCY and Love for us. Let us not forget where we came from and all the GRACE that has been shown us. Magnify the LORD with me not the problem. Put the magnifying glass on JESUS, the solution; and LET GOD deal with the trouble that neither you or I were able to do anything about. I'm getting getting ready to start watching the three seasons for the fourth time. I've been a committed Christian for fifty-two years. This Series has made the Bible come alive in a way that I have never known it. It touches me deeply and I'm not an emotional person. In a world as dark as ours is today with sin on every hand, the devil trying to destroy our nation and the family and children it would take a Pharisee to come against this show. You need to examine your own heart if you would try to diminish what God is doing through this show. I pray that those involved in it who are not Christians will be saved and some of them are. So please take the beam out of your own eye before you attempt to take the splinter out of someone else's.
The idea that an crew member can display whatever symbol they want without interference is laughable. What would have happened if that flag would have had a swastika?…. I am not drawing a parallel between pride or fascism, but there is a connection that symbols can impact others. And there should be some consideration on the part of the show creators and staff to that effect….

Our culture enthusiastically allows anyone to fly a pride flag... swastikas not so much, but that could change anytime. Symbols do impact and trigger people... just as the cross bothers some people. The name of Jesus drives some people crazy. I say we all pray for the cameraman who displays the pride flag. If this had not been brought to our attention, we would not know to pray for him. We do not know his connection...could be personal, could have a loved one who is part of pride community. But someone needs Jesus ....so.... thank you, Jesus for allowing us to see this flag!
Today I found OVER a dozen Scriptures (OT and NT) that emphatically relay God's hatred of any kind of sexual immorality. God loves the sinner; not the sin and according to Scripture sin must be dealt with.
The flag is totally inappropriate. Any working person knows all companies have rules and regulations that must be adhered to. You don't like the rules and regulations, then leave. Mr. Jenkins, if he truly is a Christian, is fully aware of God's viewpoint regarding sexual relations. One man, one woman in the covenant of marriage. Period! You can't tell me that the cameraman is SO good there was no other cameraman who could do the job just as well. (And the scene could have been, and should have been cut out of the film.)
Yes we all fall short and sin and will have to give account of that sin but Mr. Jenkins knowingly compromised his Biblical values and loyalty to his Savior.
I was thoroughly enjoying The Chosen mainly because the show portrays Jesus really enjoying being with and having fun with His disciples and family; something no other film maker has done. It's so refreshing, however, I am really going to have to seek the Lord as to whether I should continue viewing the series which is really a bummer.
It's not too late Mr. Jenkins to cut that scene out of the film because you will be standing before the Lord one day asked to give an account as to why, knowing this type of sexual behavior is wrong, you still allowed the scene to remain. As Christians we need to support and uplift each other but we also need to lovingly address wrongdoing when it becomes known. I have had so much joy from seasons 1-3, I am looking forward to season #4. I will let the episodes of Season 4 be my guide. If I remain inspired and uplifted then I will watch the next Season. Lionsgate is only a distributor and not involved in production. I understand the argument Dallas made about not restricting items crew wears. Christians don't like it when we are told not to wear crosses or display Bible verses at work. But I'm not sure totally comfortable with it. I know it was accidently shown on video but it is almost like the crew member is putting it in the face of the cast on purpose. I don't know how it was missed in editing. I realize not every cast member is an evangelical Christian but was disappointed in the reactions online to the blow back concerning the cameraman who had the pride flag by some of the cast.

I think it is a little stronger than scripture. I get into debates with a friend about this all the time actually. How Jesus never actually calls himself God directly and when you read the Bible he is extremely careful with his words. I think Jesus is God 100% but my friend has a hard time believing it because of how scripture portrays it.

Once I realized my extreme need for Him and then when I finally understood the reality and extent of the suffering He chose to take on my behalf, I wanted to be like Him. I want Him to be proud of me! I don't want to grieve Him anymore. For some of us it can take years and several backslides to get there. I know it did for me!

That’s exactly how I feel. I don’t care who the pride flag belongs to, tell them to get rid of it or leave. That’s completely why the country is having such a problem getting away from all this woke nonsense, because no one is willing to take a stand for what is actually right! If you let a little flag take you away from the message of The Chosen, you must have paid little attention when viewing the series. That flag is a sign the adversary is frustrated with the series' success. The adversary will do all he can to cause the project to fail. If you let that flag drive you away, you fall into the trap the adversary has laid for all who follow The Chosen. The series has introduced so many to Jesus Christ. It has made all of the people in the New Testament relatable. Yes, some of it is fiction and clearly labeled that way. Again, if that flag bothers you, you may be the biggest loser.

However, being a believer in the Lord Jesus my heart is broken because final I thought there was something that represents my Savior not yet corrupted. But the scripture in Galatians 3:3 is ringing through my head "Are you so foolish? Having begun in the Spirit are you made perfect by the flesh. Partnering with the world, Lionsgate, excusing and compromising with sin (Allowing a Pride flag and symbols on set) is the slippery slope. The worst part is not seeing it, or excusing it. Actually it says in scripture that we are to judge others in the church body. Wisely. So to say that we are not to judge is not entirely true. But in the world - no. We are to leave the judgement to God. It can be argued that the chosen is part of the church of Christ Jesus.
God is very very clear about what he thinks about perversion and sexual sin though, he hates it. This doesn’t just include homosexuality but all sex outside of 1man 1woman marriage. God is love but there are also 9 things he states that he hates. He hates perversion and he hates pride. The church needs to make sure it is free of sin before it casts stones - in other words we shouldn’t. But we do stand upon what is sinful. God is not a man that he should change his mind. Society has changed its mind about what constitutes sin. God has not.

I think Satan is trying to stir up trouble to stop production, it is to be expected. I think this has been a major learning experience and hopefully in the future things like this can be avoided.
Its not about the flag for me. Its about selling out to a major label when they were doing just fine with fan donations. Signing with lionsgate just took away that authentic, independent feel of the show. Being fan funded and becoming as big as it did while being fan funded independently is what made it a unique world wide phenomenon. Like why do they need lionsgate at this point? Ppl usually sellout because they struggle to get famous...this show was already famous. Thats what i dont get. I feel like dallas may have been forced as major labels are usually part of a satanic cult... and satan is probably not to happy about the truth being spread so he had to intervene. Thats the only thing that makes sense of why after this long of being successful independently they choose to sign a major label.
Ok, so here's my two cents. Yes, I was upset that Dallas would contract out to someone who is either gay or supports gay pride. I listened to his explanation and thought that it was well-thought out. Remember, Jesus went among the prostitutes, homosexuals, and all sinners, but it was them who left with their spirits changed, not Jesus. I know that Dallas employs many people who have different religious views, faiths, etc. Maybe all of them will be touched by Christ's message. That being said, I am so inwardly conflicted with what I feel is a corruption of the show, yet I love the show so much.
Jesus taught us to love one another, to pray for each other. Conflict and judging one another will not cause changes for good. We don't need to tolerate or embrace that which we feel is wrong. Like Eden said "Everyone is sinful". God is our final judge. HE knows our challenges and our hearts!

As Ive been thinking about this I was much to harsh on Dallas Jenkins from the Chosen, It is a good series and with all the filth coming out of Hollywood it is so nice to see the focus put on Jesus Christ. I should be Thanking Dallas instead of judging him. Anything good the Devil will find away to attack and distract from the true message. The chosen Jesus is a different Jesus. They portray a watered down, diluted, sugary coated Jesus who doesn't preach repentance FOR forgiveness instead he is a seeker friendly Jesus who tolerates sin. Instead of reproving people, he comforts them in their sin.

I am a great fan of The Chosen. I can't wait for Season 4 to finally come out. I have the app on my phone, and I watch the other seasons over and over. I can't seem to get enough. In Season 1, episode 1, I can relate to Mary Magdalena's healing by Jesus. Each time I watch it, I get teary eyed and I remember that I was like Mary before Jesus healed and cleansed me. I dont believe that the man who played Phillips part was a Christian as I heard him using a lot of profanity in a clip with some of the cast ,it was kind of shocking. But from the very beginning Dallas said that not all cast members were Christians. This show has changed many lives and I look forward to watching it till the end. The devil will continue to try to disrupt it and people will continue to pick it apart. Cant we just be happy we have a wholesome show to watch. I don't see a problem with I am the law of Moses because Jesus was the law of Moses. He wasn't is the word of God and the word of God is the law of Moses. It drives me crazy to everyone claims to be Christian and says that the law basically isn't around anymore. A point to 1 or 2 that they really love and that they agree with and they ignore the rest. I agree I'm a pretty staunch Christian I can't stand when the church doesn't celebrate God's holy days but instead celebrates a pagan holiday of Christmas and all of its nonsense. We don't celebrate Passover Jesus's first coming was in line with feast days his second coming will be aligned with these days.... So on and so forth that being said this is a show it's not a church in a church a homosexual can walk right in and listen to the word of God. The word of God is not for those who are not sick but those who need help. The fact is we all walk into church the same way filthy. Jesus came to this world with much controversy. It will always be this way. I am a true Catholic, and I will always stand by Jesus. The are so many different Bible quotes. There are so many different Bible publications. The heart of the matter is Jesus. I love Chosen because I see before my eyes the human man , Jesus. He is real; stop with the criticism, listen to him and follow Him.
The tone of the show has definitely changed. The way I felt when we were crowdfunding together for each episode- felt like it was more untainted by Hollywood.
I lost my confidence in the show when the movie theater releases started. I felt very let down and like those of us doing everything with Dallas to get each episode paid for was thrown right out the window.
The new outside interests have ZERO to do with spreading a meassage about Jesus. Dallas knows that- he was kicked out of Hollywood if you watched from the very start he talks about it….
I have been watching and fast forwarding through thr season 4 episodes. It’s boring, uses way too much phraseology of today and seems insincere, tepid, lacking depth in every episode
The only thing I will give credit for is that seasons 1-3 really did get me back to a bible based church and from what I learn at church my life has grown in Christ.

As a Christian who believe in the scriptures and believes the scriptures tell us that marriage is between a man and a woman and anything different is a sin, the reaction people had over the lgbtq flag was silly.
If its someone private items they can have whatever symbols they want on their PRIVATE bought items. If though the show itself as a show was supporting pride then that would be different. But this individual is hearing the Word of God spoken which is gonna do more for him or her than anything else.
If you don't want a individual to put stickers or flags on their private bought items then Christians shouldnt complain if a company they work for tells them to remove a scripture or Christian emblem on their privately bought items.

Folks, as long as the content itself is good, I don’t think we should walk away. The show is made by imperfect people with whom we may disagree on various issues. I don’t agree with the way Dallas handled this controversy and I’ve struggled with how to proceed from this point. But unless and until that affects the content of the show itself, it’s a side issue and a distraction from what’s really important, which is the Great Commission (which is what I think The Chosen is playing a role in).
I am re-considering.
