Shock. Sadness. Anger. Confusion. Whatever your reaction was to Episode Three, you’re going to see it reflected in the disciples. Episode Four takes us into the reality of grief immediately after the tragedy-but it doesn’t end there.
As the exact midpoint point of the entire Chosen series, this episode bridges the first and second halves and jumps us ahead in time. “Soon” is becoming now.
In this watch party, you'll see:
- THE EPISODE ITSELF, “CALM BEFORE”: Beginning with a funeral procession, time marches rapidly toward the final days of Jesus’ ministry. While the disciples seek status for themselves, a Roman ruler comes with a humble request.
- A visit with Kira from COME AND SEE to celebrate this midpoint milestone and talk about our journey from here to the finish.
- Special guest, KIRK B.R. WOLLER (Gaius) joined us to discuss his journey all the way from Season 1 to this big moment.
- And your sneak peek of EPISODE FIVE, coming June 16.
I'm going through a divorce where my wife won't talk to me and I only get limited visits with my daughter, my family and friends are all in other states, this has been the most trying time of my life. The chosen has been one of my go to's for finding strength during this very trying time in my life.
Edit: Thank you each and every one of you in the comments, I didn’t expect such an outpouring of support. It means a lot to me. Truly. Thank you. God bless all of you.
You’re not alone, sending a big virtual hug from Southern California, you will be in my prayers tonight, I’m on my second marriage , I too at one point thought my world was ending. Little did I know God had a plan. It would take a few years, but I found my true soul mate. That was 30 years ago. Hang in there God is with you !
Keep your mind and feet steady. The best that you can. You are not alone. 🙏🏾
Stay strong brother
Sucks
Stay strong. You will get through to this. The one you are meant to be with is just around the corner.❤
I am a script writer. The way you showed Jesus as the oil being poured out from the crushing and then have the Roman come symbolizing salvation for the gentiles was brilliant. No words needed.
oh wow!..you are sooo right!..thank you sooo much for pointing THAT out!..you WROTE that very well too..God bless you tremendously, AND your writings!!🙏🤗👍🏻😇💜
yeah, it was so cool.
'Gethsemane' means oil press in Hebrew. Jesus' blood was pressed out to the very last drop for our salvation. You're right, so beautiful. I didn't see the symbolism for the Gentiles. Thanks for opening my eyes to that.
Truly awesome how they have visually woven so much in a way that brings these Truths home.
Yes indeed! Brilliant brilliant!
I've been diagnosed with severe ankylosing spondylitis, a non-curable & progressive, auto-immune disease....
I'm receiving God's miraculous healing day by day as I watch this series....God is ministering to me...& I'm getting closer to Him....... all praise & glory to Him... thanks to the team for making this happen....
Praying for your miraculous healing in the Name of Jesus! ❤️
May healing inside and out be yours I pray in the love of Jesus ❤
Thanks for your prayers
May God heal you.❤
Jehovah Rapha walked with me through breast cancer. In His precious and true name, I pray for your healing and comfort.
The oil press was significant with Gaius because here Jesus is reminded of the suffering he'll have to go through at Calvary...and then he sees Gaius and is reminded of WHY He has to go through it. It's worth it - so beautiful!
When Gaius came to Jesus and fell to his knees and called him Lord is when my tears started flowing.
The Chosen has bought me back to Christ with a better understanding.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!❤
This show has really shown me Jesus and why we have suffered in our lives
So basically this scene is a foreshadowing of what is to come. You know. The crucifixion.🤔yeah when i first saw this scene i was like yeah its probably that and the oil dripping symbolizes jesus blood spilling through the cross or something.
THANK YOU I came to the comments before even starting this episode, hoping someone would talk about that scene! That's what I thought about it too, but I don't have anyone else who watches the show to compare notes with lol
Yes, it's a wonderful scene, and with so many aspects! Having watched it several times now, thinking of Jesus' struggling in Getsemane, I was thinking that Gaius comforting Jesus can also be a foreshadowing of the angel that came to Jesus in Getsemane to comfort Him. Along with all the other aspects mentioned here, wow! It's just so full of blessings, beyond words to describe ♡♡♡
Watching Gaius and the line where he says " I am not worthy and you just have to say a word my son will be healed" made me teary. I am Ethiopian Orthodox Christian and when we receive the Holy Communion we chant that line. It's wholesome! Thank you!
I'm a Catholic and we say that line too before receiving the Eucharist!! I just LOOOVE that they made Gaius that centurion who said that line! That has been my wish!! 😍😍😍😭😭🥺🥺🥹🥹🥹🙏🙏
Happy Gaius❤❤
Im RC -we also say this b4 receiving Him at Holy Communion -soul/son
I am an Indian living in the Democratic republic of Congo. I am going through a very difficult time but watching your series has given me great courage and faith. I came to know things I never knew before and has brought me closer to my Lord and savior. Thanks a lot.❤
Praise God! 🙏
oh wow!..i am sooo thankful and dileriously happy for you!!..HE is sooo worth it!!..thank you sooo much for sharing that with us!!..God bless you tremendously!!..i send you love and hugs all the way from Alaska!!🙏🤗👍🏻😇💜
My brother so happy for you that you love our Lord, I pray he will strengthen your inner man and lift you up in the valleys and he'll bless you and keep you. Love you brother.
I'm praying for you friend. Jesus is near and will walk you through this every step of this difficult time. Trust where you cannot see.
@@ericlentine4287 Amen!
The ending gave me chills!!! Jesus thank you for sacrificing yourself for the atonement of my sins!!!
He died for the sins of his Chosen People Israel. Which are so called blacks and indigenous of the earth scattered to the four corners of the earth via the mechanism of slavery as it is written. Deuteronomy 30:1-7
He is not the savior of the Gentiles. He is the destroyer.
Jeremiah 4:7 King James Version (KJV)
The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
The only inheritance you have in the kingdom is a slave to those that you have continued to oppress from what your ancestors established for you.
Isaiah 14:1-2
King James Version
14 For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
2 And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall 👉🏾possess them in the land of the Lord for 👉🏾💥💥💥💥servants and handmaids💥: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.💥👈🏾
Eye for an eye. Your people do not get to rule on earth and then rule with christ.
He never really explains that to the group. I don't think they'd get it but the concept of him letting himself be captured then and not before, rising in 3 days, I think it had to be said a lot to really absorb it. In real life he probably did.
A brilliant way to show extreme pressure, and it will be worse for him than pressing olive oil. Such suffering even before the cross :(
Amen 🙌🏾 I can't thank him enough I'm filled with sin and try my best. I will never give up trying to be a good person, even though I always fall short everyday.
@@CluedUp23 if your filled with sin, then that would make you a sinner. God doesn't hear your prayers.
John 9:31
King James Version
31 Now we know that 👉🏾God heareth not sinners:👈🏾 but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
Proverbs 28:9
King James Version
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
It's CRAZY that Christians confess that they are filled with sin.
Let me ask you. Are you born again?
I ask in Jesus’s name for all non-believers to find him now. I no longer live in fear since giving my life to him. There is an inner peace I wish I could find the words to describe it. Sending this prayer across the planet 🌎🕊️🙏🏼❤️

Peace of Christ be with you, welcome Home ❤️the Lord loves you
@@ludivinasalinas3730 thanks
I think Jesus might have been a real guy and the most famous spiritual teacher of all time, and I love knowing and learning about all kinds of old texts of all different religions, they all point in the same direction of love and piece and everlasting life. I dont believe that anyone goes to "hell" but we continue existing in different uncomprihencibe realms after life for sure. The bible particularily has been rewritten with different views MANY times, based on what the people in power wanted people to live by at any particular time! Therefore I watch this as a beautiful interpretation of some of those texts and learning new concepts about it all 😊
I love finding my peace and love for all through thinking for myself and learning all different things ❤ blessings to you all, for me god is everything in existance, the embodiment of pure unconditional love, god is within us, all around us and everything unseen and unknown in the 3rd dimension 🌊🌿🦋
Phenomenal ending. Hebrews 12:2. "Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. ". The oil press is the foreshadowing of the crushing Jesus would endure, and then Gaius shows up and Jesus is reminded of the "why" and the joy set before Him. We are that joy, and that's a mind blowing thought!
Even more amazing is having that joy extended to us which he enjoyed with his father before time ....now is revealed to those who desire to be and walk close to him
Amen
The hug between Gaius and Jesus at the end is so sweet. Seeing how love is reflected through the same actors, who in real life are also being changed by the message of Jesus, is so important.
My favorite quote this episode was from Peter.... 'I trust the God that walks on water.' id wear that on a shirt
Me too!! I hope they do!!👍🏼👍🏼❤❤

"I'd buy that for a dollar!!!"
Yea thats great
I’ve just recently given my life to Jesus and pray that I am delivered from my addictions and distractions so that I can spend the rest of my life fully worshipping and witnessing Him until His return. Amen.
This show has helped me understand so much that I never had before which has brought me, and my children, closer than I could have ever imagined. What a blessing. Thank you.
I’m a Christian woman and I’m praying for you and your children..
Amen
We pray for strength and may you feel Jesus's arms lifting you....
Jesus loves you ❤
Lord thank you for removing addiction from your people any and all addiction in Yeshua name I pray
I cried so hard when Jesus began staring at the oil press, alone. The metaphore is so overwhelming, especially after the scene with the apostles prior... Oh my poor Jesus... And it made me think about the bleeding woman... He was pressed from all parts, and power came out of Him. Like oil. Oil, being the sign of the Holy Spirit. He's going to be ground to pulp and no oil is going to be left behind to spoil.
Do not waste the gift He gave us, at such a cost.
Me too tears are rolling and my heart is bleeding, because of my sin My Lord died ,i crushed him so badly I can feel the pain on that moment. Lord forgive me.
Me too all his blood was shed for all of us. John 1:7 tells us: “The blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.” So when we confess our sins to God, we're forgiven of our sins and cleansed from them by the blood of Jesus.. so much pain so much suffrage for us unworthy souls
“Do not waste the gift He gave us, at such a cost.” Well said. Thank you. 🙏🏻
Often I use to think if I had lived at the time of Jesus and walk along with him along with His disciples ,but while watching The Chosen, I feel I am also walking with Jesus. Thank you all Chosen team.
Can't wait! I love The Chosen! Thank you everyone at The Chosen for bringing the Gospels to life!
This episode was nothing short of gut wrenching...and beautifully expresses the heart of Jesus Christ. ❤
Agree 100%
Me three
I think it's beautiful that Gaeius is the one comforting Jesus. His prayer is like the Psalms and you can see Jesus's distress as he's realizing/being reminded of the cup he will be receiving.
What my father loves about Gaeius in the Bible is his full hearted faith in Jesus to heal his son. And Gaeius hugging Jesus is like a reminder for Jesus about why he's going through all this suffering. It's not just for the first born nation, but for all of humanity. To save the whole world. The only thing my parents have in common is that they come from Catholic families, but we like to say that without Jesus changing the world we'd still be Gentiles... and that's be such a shame not to have found the Lord Our God.
Well said. God created us to be his friends and companions, he actually liked us! and this scene reminded me of that.
The Lord of Lords
King of Kings
The Alpha and Omega
The Son of the llving God✝️

My absolute favourite sentence in this episode is Matthew: ”There, there……Dominus” 🤔🤔 . Absolutely perfect scene👍👍👍
I love this episode❤ Thank you Jesus showing your Unending Love for us...God bless All the team members...Amen🙏🙏
End of Episode Four: absolute genius in terms of writing. Powerful heart-stopping holy-spirit conversion of a gentile. I am sitting here thanking God for the centurion from 2000 years ago. What Holy Spirit power. Hallelujah!
A thousand Hallelujah a thousand more.
Ironic. I think it's
Easily the worst written episode they've ever done.
Pathetic narrative choices.
Amateurish.
Shalom Shalom he's coming soon to get his bride onto himself. are you ready??!! Thank you for listening to the great I AM the god of Abraham Isaac and Jacob for this show has the holy spirit all over it!!!
I have been watching since the beginning when it first started!!!
God bless all of you all 110 % fold
May everyone who watches hear the word of God as well as his voice calling on to them!!! He gets the the praise honor and the glory!!!
God call's everyone to listen but only few hear unfortunately!!!
The guys who did the show did really good acting!! It almost like they believed believed in the most high!!!!
So sad they don't but maybe in time before it's too late they will come to know him as the Christ!!!!!🙂
I really want Him to come now
Amen soon our King of kings and Lord of Lord's is coming for his born again church
@@SugoiEnglish1 Indeed, He has already come just as He said He would.
Shalom Shalom He's people are the ones looking to serve him!!!
They have picked up their cross denying oneself!!!
Not everyone who says to me Lord Lord shall enter into the kingdom of heaven!!!!
He gives us a choice hot or cold and the lukewarm he will spit out of his mouth and say he never knew them so as a cold person who's not doing anything for anyone to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ or helping anyone!! They too shall be sped out of his mouth and he will say he never knew them!!!
So therefore has Billy Graham would say choose this day whom you will serve!!!!
Don't be the one sitting on the fence!!!!
For the day that he will come many will not hear his voice but he speaks to everybody who is listening is the question?!!
The day that he comes and says he's ready to take you and they will say just give me a second and then within minutes they will say okay what do you want I'm here but they will hear nothing!
Because he's already come and gone!!
And then they will notice that he is gone and as the chaos hits the world they will know that he's already been and they made the miss!!!
So prepare your oil on your lamps now doing everything you can!! For you do not want to not have oil in your are lamps on the day he comes for his bride❤️
The only one that will save this country is Jesus.
Amen. Jesus is the answer. He is ALWAYS the answer.
This is true. Can you imagine, CAN YOU IMAGINE what could happen if we all came together in prayer?

The episode starts out with Jesus speaking of how Thomas needs comforted. It ends with a Roman comforting Jesus. Beautiful ❤
Love this episode. That last scene with Jesus and Gaeius was one of the best. Gaeius being a "father" to Jesus. That human part of Jesus needing that "physical" touch and comfort. Beautiful.😢💔🙏🏼
To everyone reading this; I wish you all the best and the most happiest life full of joy and peace ☮️
This show has brought me so close to my Lord and Savior!!!! Thank you!!! Bless you all!!
Thomas .. in distress ..running to Jesus for an embrace .. is the most sweetest and the most gut wrenching scene !!

And Kirk’s portrayal of Gaius and his faith journey was so well done!!! A great actor!
How many times am supposed to cry my eyes out in one episode? Praise God.
The holy spirit feels so much love and joy and peace when i watch these episodes truly helped me know God deeper (im a fairly newly saved Christian) may the Lord continue to bless the director's and actors to share the good news of the Gospel worldwide.

Thomas is said to have gone to India I believe wow cool
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

For those who overcome the church I will give you to eat of the hidden manna. Ok. Manna is bread from heaven. Apocrypha means hidden. So jesus has given and we need to overcome the church then we eat. If we accept that the Apocrypha is inspired by God and let him be true and every man a liar.
Check the guide book for the elect
@@Apocryphile1970-check_it "Overcome the church" ? You are horribly misquoting .
That verse is from Revelation ch 2
"“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give some of the hidden manna to eat. "
The books of the Apocrypha are controversial, written hundreds of years after Jesus. The stories they depict dont reference other scripture and contain contradictions to our current Cannon . Why do you think the Church Patriarch's left them out....
They were written by Gnostic authors. Not a very accurate or factual group.
@@avgejoeschmoe2027 By his stripes we are healed. Let's talk about what that means.
Stripes literal are the whip that ripped his flesh off. Jesus said his flesh is Scripture so the books removed are the books that can heal. Jesus came for the lost and the sick the blind and the deaf lame he also raised the dead. So understanding those books can bring spiritual healing even raise the spiritually dead. I struggle with sin,but I believe that the Lord forgives me, I thank the Lord, I can't say it in words, he is everything. Jesus is so kind, I can't explain how much, i hope i can discribe it. I love Jesus so much, He died for me, His love is eternal, I love him.❤
I am lost in a sea of tribute to the chosen. This is so big. I feel so small in all your greatness.
I loved this episode. So glad Gais was promoted. Yes, I will think of this actors face when I hear in church " I am not worthy to receive you. Only say the word and I shall be healed". What a beautiful ending too. God bless everyone with this show. Words can't describe how much this show means to me. ❤
“Jesus will speak for Himself..You write it down.. Matthew writes it down and time will reveal all these mysteries… But.. I trust in the God that walks on water !!!”
How profoundly true !!

I love this show! It opens so many doors. Our God is an awesome God, Amen 🙏 ✝️
It was interesting to hear Dallas's perspective on the olive press scene. My interpretation was that the Savior was contemplating the pain and suffering he will soon have to endure. Then Gaius representing all of us as the reason our God would be willing to go through so much. Truly an beautiful scene!
Very well put.
I don't know your full story, but if your wife won't speak to you, it means that she is EXTREMELY ANGRY.
Why not ask her what the issue is and try to work things out - if possible, go for counseling so there is no need for a divorce.
This episode is by far the most powerfully revealing one concerning why Jesus came among us; it is the crossroads of the series, for me so far. Thank you God ✝️🙏
I'm watching from Chennai, South India. I've been a great fan of this series and I love the way Jesus is portrayed in all the episodes! I'm telling everyone I know about The Chosen!
South Texas. Love to watch The Chosen...Glory to God
I love the possible symbolism during the hug at the end of the episode:
Roman red of Gaius clothing = stained sinner
“White” of Jesus clothing = pure sinless sacrifice
Their embrace - as the repentant and converted sinner surrenders and the sinless Son of God is feeling the weight of responsibility of what will soon come to pass - I feel in that moment it is beautifully represented that Gaius’ conversion and belief (enough to heal his son and also to be saved) could be of some small comfort knowing that his (Jesus) work is being received and touching the lives of even the most unlikely of people.
Wow. This episode is giving....such depth, those who should understand didn't, but Gauis did, the faith, yes, historically correct; but the pressing of the olives and how it takes Jesus to what awaits Him, His own pressing. Beautiful touch, fictional and totally believable that Gauis got it...the pressing of the Son of Man. The weights mounted on the pressing rod figuratively representing the weight of the sins of the world that would be laid on Jesus.
Awesome connection! I saw how the olive oil looked blood - like and in the rod - the wood of the cross.👍🏼❤️🙏🏼
Loved your comment. This series goes deeper than many pulpit sermons. I discovered The Chosen last year and by season one, episode 3, it was a definite “Ohhh, yeeeeah” moment. I’m no milk toast believer and I love how deep they take the backstory inner twined with the scriptures.

And Jesus questioning what He is doing, until He sees Giaus. He will do it for Giaus. He will do it for all of them. He did it for us.
The ending to this was absolutely fantastic. Jesus anxiety over his coming death, but seeing Gius brings him comfort knowing he's saving him and all mankind like him. Amazing.

Many days ago. My mother and i saw the scene where Gaius pleads jesus to heal his son. Thanks to internet spoilers😬. We are Catholics, and every time during the mass, we pray to the Lord before receiving him in the Eucharist. We say, "Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed." My mother came home and said whenever i say that prayer, i feel like Gaius filled with so much hope and faith❤❤. We are unworthy, but he makes us worthy. So beautifully potrayed. Thank you, Team Chosen ❤
#1. From Dubuque, Iowa 💓💓💓
I was thinking the same thing, I say that prayer at church also but will think of him for quite a while.
So true! Beautifully said❤
The conversation between Peter, Matthew and Gaius, along with Peter saying that Gaius is worthy, is a perfect explanation of the intercession of the Saints. They do not fulfill prayers or perform miracles, but they guide people and intercede for people to Jesus for Jesus to perform miracles and answer prayers.
@@GamingxKnightnobody is worthy to be infront of Jesus 🩵 Peter was referring to Gauis s faith. Blessings!

The first thing Gaius did upon entering his home was blow out the candles on the shrines of his old false idols.
I didn’t notice! Thanks, I will look for that when I watch again.

I've recently returned to church and God and I've been reading the Bible daily. There are many, many things I still don't get and I never understoond what Jesus meant when He asked James and John if they could drink from the same cup as Him until I watched this episode. It finally clicked! I binge watch The Chosen weekly, over and over, again and I still get goose pimples because I KNOW Jesus performed (and continues to perform) miracles. I will forever be grateful. Thank you. God bless you and everybody involved in the creation and making of and the donations to The Chosen. It has contributed tremendously to strengthening my faith. Thank you
Don't ignore the seventh day Sabbath like the bible says
I love how even nature was feeling the coming violence of the perfect storm Jesus was feeling in this episode 4.
This is a great observation. I believe nature is actually feeling this now, even stronger in these times. The earth longs for the restored Kingdom just like God’s children.

One of the most beautiful phrases that more than 2000 years later, Catholics continue to say to Jesus before receiving his body and blood at each mass: "LORD, I am not worthy of you entering my house."
oh yes, it has been my favorite ever since I pinned it to my bedroom wall when I was 8. I am not worthy, but Lord, only say one word and i will be healed.
As a former saved born again redeemed X CATHOLIC..consider reading the WORD OF GOD (KJV1611)..FOR YOUR SELF!!!.. best on intentions
Indeed it is the Body of Christ
Looking forward to this.
But only say the word and I shall be healed.
Thank you Dallas for helping so many people learn about Jesus!!! Adrienne

How u captivated the introduction and invention of holy anointing oil!
And I am not worthy for you to enter my house but just say the word and I shall be healed. The display of that faith with Gius was absolutely brilliant

Thank you Lord for giving us The story of the Best book ever. May peace be with you ❤❤❤❤❤
Jesus is saving lives through Chosen-- not the other way around.
I want to give all the Awards and the Flowers to every single soul involved with the Chosen. ❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I am really thanking Heavenly Father for directing Dallas and his team for making this show. As Dallas has said on several occasions, this is a TV show, it is not a verse by verse account of what took place in the Gospels. Yet, this TV show is a catalyst that sparks interest in persons who would not normally be interested in the Bible to get a glimpse of the Son of Man. I pray that everyone who looks at the show, whether Christian or not, goes to The Holy Bible and study for themselves, what actually took place. The Chosen as a TV show cannot cover everything. It actually only touches on a few major events of Jesus' ministry and then it covers these events out of sequence and sometimes out of context. At the same time, still doing a good job of telling the story. My wish to everyone is Go Study The Bible for yourself. Blessings.
