Same, he was probably one of the first content creators I ever watched on RUclips. I adored TTYD but didn’t have any real-life friends who had played it (aside from my brother). I was so happy to be able watch the playthrough from someone who also holds that game dearly in their heart.
I always believed that Origami King was pushing the borders on the "Mario Mandate". Like it followed it but put in enough to kind of test it's limits. With the recent reveals this past year there's a high chance that Mandate simply got taken down finally. Which is why Wonder, the SMRPG Remake, Peach Showtime and now TTYD's Remake are such big hitters right now.
it's weird how Paper Mario out of all things had that mandate, because in most franchises the mainline entries are more reserved while spinoffs get more creative liberties while with Mario it was the other way around for a while.

I think this announcement made me even more happy than the Super Mario RPG announcement. I'm hyped to see Geno, Mallow, and all the other lost characters after so long, but Paper Mario TTYD is on a whole different level of hype. Maybe we still have some hope for Mario & Luigi someday too! Wouldn't even complain about ports of the 3DS remakes. Throw in Partners in Time and sell em as a Trilogy
Samme Mario and Luigi would bring massive tears to my eyes. Those games were hype af :). Hope they remake Partners in Time if they have to choose one. Mostly cause its a game that never got a remake and also given we already have Superstar Saga on the NSO, it would make the most sense to remake Partners in Time next! This moment makes me really happy and very nostalgic… 14 years ago, back in 2009, while I was in middle school, I had just started getting into this new (to me) website called “RUclips”. Lol. While looking through videos, one was suggested to me next to the video I was watching (anyone remember THAT time of RUclips? Lol). A game called “Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door” by none other than “chuggaaconroy”. I was like “My friend had that game before, I’ll check it out.” He was in the late beginnings of the game. As soon as I heard the commentary and saw the gameplay, I was HOOKED. I went back to the first episode and watched until I was caught up. Every day I would wait in anticipation for his next video. Something about this guy made me want to watch more and more. Maybe it was being an impressionable teenager, but whatever it was I went back and watched most, if not all, of his previous let’s plays. I was never REALLY into video games. I loved Pokémon and had a Wii, but I never loved games outside of those. After watching chugga’s lets plays and seeing his enthusiasm for all the games, I started exploring other games. My favorite of those that I tried was Mother 3, and to this day, is one of my favorite games. The other thing that I got from him was the desire to 100% games. I’m currently going through my collection and 100% all my games. He also inspired me to try Let’s Playing myself. While it never went anywhere, I still hope someday I can do it as a side hobby. To this day, if I have nothing to watch, I’ll throw on one of chugga’s Let’s Plays to listen to in the background. Chuggaaconroy, through my various RUclips accounts, has been the one I have been subscribed to the longest. He has lasted through the highs and lows of RUclips, which just shows everyone how great he is. Thank you for all these years of entertainment and I hope to see many more years of your work!

I watched both of these guy’s channels religiously back in college. I hope they both do a play through of the remade Thousand Year Door after it finally comes out this month.
I was waiting for Emile's reaction as soon as I saw the trailer! (and tearing up!) I grew up watching his and Lucah's playthroughs of this game, now I can finally play it myself! And seeing him gush like a kid in a candy store is the icing on the nostalgia cake! 🎂
Maybe this is what he needs to help him recover. Games can help people get through tough times on their life, so hopefully TTYD on Switch can help Emile with his recovery, even if he never returns to RUclips.
Word on his last Pokémon video is that Emile attended Momocon with Tim and SweetieConroy. If memory serves, Emile had said he wouldn't attend events anymore, but if he's already doing so, then his return to the platform may be sooner than anticipated.
Thousand Year Door was the very first game I ever played, and your LP of it was what got me through the game and introduced me to your channel. I’m glad we’re both still as in love with this game all these years later!

I remember my mom getting this for me in 2005, I came across your channel in mid 2009 and found your lets play from just searching random TTYD videos. I’m starting a LP because of the remaster that is coming out later this year. My mom was an alcoholic, she stuck me in front of a nintendo 64 asking me to take care of myself while she partied all night, did drugs and never took care of me as a child since I was a baby . Once she was able afford a Nintendo Gamecube; the first game I got was TTYD. I have many fond hours and memories with this game. If it wasn’t for my mother being an alcoholic mess and locking me into my room with my own solitude, I’d never enjoy nintendo/mario JRPG’S. I KNOW IT SOUNDS DEPRESSING AND TERRIBLE (DO NOT FEEL BAD. I was waiting for Emile's reaction as soon as I saw the trailer! (and tearing up!) I grew up watching his and Lucah's playthroughs of this game, now I can finally play it myself! And seeing him gush like a kid in a candy store is the icing on the nostalgia cake! 🎂

I first played TTYD when I was 5 years old and one of the first times I ever found out about Chuggaaconroy was TTYD & Super Mario Sunshine. I cried so much at this announcement. This was my childhood.
Paper Mario fans believed in a return to style happening for so long.
Fingers crossed we FINALLY get a Paper Luigi game in the future.

Legit almost started crying during the direct when the TTYD intro started playing. One of my favorite games, and probably my favorite game as a child, is being remade and I could not be happier!

I’m starting a LP because of the remaster that is coming out later this year.
My mom was an alcoholic, she stuck me in front of a nintendo 64 asking me to take care of myself while she partied all night, did drugs and never took care of me as a child since I was a baby . Once she was able afford a Nintendo Gamecube; the first game I got was TTYD. I have many fond hours and memories with this game. If it wasn’t for my mother being an alcoholic mess and locking me into my room with my own solitude, I’d never enjoy nintendo/mario JRPG’S. I KNOW IT SOUNDS DEPRESSING AND TERRIBLE (DO NOT FEEL BAD. IM 26). I GOT MY OWN HOUSE AND I LOVE NINTENDO AND ALL OF MARIO’S JRPGS.
