I think the "DO NOT MAKE IT SHIT!" was the first thing we all thought of when they showed the combat.
Not me, because I knew they wouldn't do a remake if it's to implement a new combat system

They make good formulas and then throw it away by the next game in the series just for the sake of shaking it up, and it sometimes just ends up being worse than what you originally had

In all Fairness, if you saw the Paper Mario characters animated more like how they do in Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario (segmented limbs made of cardboard), rather than Sticker Star and Color Splash (all animations being sprites made into body groups to remain looking like paper), you'd notice that it's a major improvement.
@@robbiewalker2831 Oh don't get me wrong, visually modern Paper Mario looks better. But that's purely a surface level thing. The writing, the mechanics, the world design, all of that is worse. And that's not to say I hate every Post-TTYD Paper Mario or anything. I actually really like Color Splash for what it is and felt it improved and fixed a lot of Sticker Star's problems. Problem is, we then get to Origami King, a game that is entirely "Okay" to me, and I realized that for as much as Color Splash and OK improve, there's still core issues with this brand of Paper Mario that will never be fixed.

No joke man, this game is what made me get my creative writing degree. It inspired me as a kid in so many ways. I was in tears. It's the most important game in the world to me and AT LONG LAST, after so many years, it's getting the respect it deserves...
Nintendo this year has been really stepping up on their big game with this, Wonder, RPG, Mario vs Donkey Kong, and Princess Peach showtime. Also, I had creative writing in high school and was a decent student. Still remember the fanfic assignments all too well

Dude I love all the little details that have changed. The partners have a behind them sprite, there's new animations like seeing Flurrie in the Glitz blimp, everything unfolds like a pop-up book when you start a battle. And of course all the designs and graphics look AMAZING!!

Like in glitzville there is a new purple toad, with a character style similar to the rest of the game. That means they put actual effort into this remake

@@endoskel9262 Heyy, i'm saying everything here, i'm a big fan of mario's (especially the paper's ones) games and I take the fun of playing with different country version (i'm french and understand some basics in some languages) and yeah, Vivian's story is censored in the american version, in france we discover when you first meet the three shadows well.. they say theyr name and Vivan says they are the three shadow sisters, and the old one says "where do you see 3 sisters, we're 2, you're a boy !" And when you use goombella to use her "scan" she put this description "This girl, wait.. boy is the youngest of the three" all the time Vivian state she's a girl even tho no.. it's a boy (maybe the first trans character i know ? (From a game of 2004 it's damn progressist)

@THE__Legend_27 sure but it was also where the downfall of the series truly began, sure Sticker Star was the absolute lowest point of the series but SPM was where the problems really started. It stripped away turn-based battles, badges, FP, special moves, partners, the old level up system (getting to choose between multiple different stats to level up), and all the depth and strategic potential that the battle system of the first two games had. I actually love SPM too, but it still strays too far from the original formula just like the modern Paper Mario games to be grouped in with the first two as a "true" Paper Mario game, and it marked the beginning of the series making unnecessary and unwanted changes for the worst.
@@tessaPMpro yeah. That I agree with that. I just sometimes forget it even is a paper Mario game. That’s how different it is. Not saying it’s bad, but it did show of things to come.

I grew up playing Super Paper Mario and actually never got to play Thousand Year Door but from what I understand it’s an amazing game. I’m happy for those who are now able to relive all their memories. I’ll play the remake and hopefully I get to experience what everyone is talking about.
SPM was my first also and only up until the point the Switch made the debut and featured the N64 with the first Paper Mario.
Super Paper Mario was truly peak imo, probably the last Paper Mario game to be anything above "decent"
Super Paper Mario birthed one of my favorite mario villains, so I hope that potentially scores a remake too

I love that the camera isn't even on but you can just see the half second it took for the book to register in his brain and the immediate reaction (vocal chord violation) he had when he realized what it was
The only things that seem to be different from the OG game (other than visuals) are that when characters speak, the sound effect is different for each character/type of character
