I found India's friendliest street.

  • In Jodhpur I go in search of the famous blue buildings of the city and come across perhaps the friendliest street I’ve ever encountered anywhere in the world where nearly every resident welcomed me with huge smiles and a tremendous welcome.
Along the way I get invited into a carpenter’s studio to watch him saw wood, then I stumble across a man selling trombones in a very unexpected area.
A man invites me into a temple to watch him pray to then bless me as well which I found quite a humbling experience.
I’m also educated by several people standing around a vegetable stand as to what the different names of vegetables in India are called - one particular man is quite the character.
We also discover a temple which offers food cooked in large pans and are greeted by a local man who tries to explain what’s going on.
After climbing a considerable amount of stairs we finally get to a blue guesthouse rooftop where we are able to get a view of the blue buildings of Jodhpur as well as the imposing fort that looms over the city.
This was maybe my favorite travel day so far. A wonderful experience on all accounts.

The reason why your vlogs are so good is because you are an honest good hearted man. It comes through quite clearly. The friendliness that you perceive is because of our age old principle of Vasidhaiva Kutumbakam, the world is one family. Remove all mental barriers and be ONE.

Hi shivaram, thank you for the kind words. I was talking to someone this morning about how a person's attitude will often determine the type of travel experience they have. If you are open-minded, honest, and friendly towards others that sentiment will be returned to you. Indian people are very gracious and hospitable people and will reward you ten times for you being a sincere person. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

You people are right feeling puzzled seeing the trombone shop in India. Actually it is not a trombone shop and trombone and other western instruments are not part of classical indian music. That shop is the office/store of a band of musicians for hire (we call it band or band party) to go and play music in a marriage procession/any other procession/road parade etc. To understand why they are playing western instrument and not indian ones you need to go back to history. These are imitations of british military bands processions which are copied by indian maharajas and then common people to celebrate special occasions.

@@fiascodagama1 Thanks for your reply. Just that we love people visiting our country but get really pained when they experience trouble due to some unscrupulous characters in our land.
We would love you to go back with overall good memories and positive experiences.
And again very happy to host you at my place and take you around if you plan to visit Bangalore, Karnataka!

That's not entirely correct. I travel all over the world on a budget. I just happened to start a RUclips channel recently not long before visiting India. Making assumptions isn't something I like to engage in, personally.

Hi Wayne, that wasn't a music instruments shop, in fact it was a kind of an of office for a band. When indians get married they book a band. Groom's family friends and relatives get together, some times a couple of hundred and go to the bride's home dancing in the streets while the band play bellwood hits one after another.
