If you would like to follow along as Courtney reacts to the watches I selected, I have included a list of all the watches covered in the description so you can make your own picks at every budget covered. I would love to see the choices you would make in the comments. Also, it seems many people may have missed me discussing how the budgets work towards the beginning. Each budget tier is the total amount that both the dress and everyday/sport watch should equal. In other words, you should be able to buy both of those watches for that price approximately as explained at 1:23.

The fun thing about this is her opinion is far more pure than any of us could ever reach. Despite what we think, most of us don't look at watches simply from the looks standpoint because we know the movements, etc. This is the most honest opinion you'll likely get. She picked the VC so she won me over :)
Peter Gietl & Mike D is it possible that you both have valid opinions? Aesthetics and knowledge have value in the watch discussion. One not more or less important than the other but equally of value in ones determination. Overall it was simply nice to have an unencumbered opinion about watches. We hear from informed watch folks all the time. How about a different perspective now and again. Great job Teddy!

LOL! That's so true. I was just watching an Urban Gentry video on the Orient Bambino v2 and he says that the Orient Bambino is the cheapest watch he owns. My hand went to my forehead and I broke out in a cold sweat. It takes me MONTHS to pull the trigger on a watch that's not even $100.

I truly believe some of the coolest watches are from 1200-5000 bucks. That price range lends so much range. I feel like less a money and the build isn’t always gonna be the same, and at the higher end they look gaudy or just so similar.
Bruh this RUclips shit is out of control. I was recently recommended one of Courtney’s vids about dating cuz I’ve been researching. Later I decided it was time for me to buy a watch. I looked up watches that were affordable and found this guys channel. NOW I’m seeing these two together. It’s all come full circle. Courtney incepted me to want to buy a watch to look nice on dates and now I’m 5 hours into watch research seeing her pop up on this channel
That took some serious courage by her to be willing to sit down and offer her opinion on all of these watches to her boyfriend who is a super educated watch collector and to be scrutinized on his watch collecting channel! Kudos.

Not only that! She also proved to have a really good taste and courage to expose to ugly over-hyped watches. Let's be honest: Seiko Turtle, Omega Seamaster 300, AP Royal Oak and other bulky grotesque watches DO NOT look nice. We watch enthusiasts just sometimes tend to have major blind spots when it comes to aesthetics and instead we value brand, popularity and heritage.
Because she put some spell over him. Omega is way better looking than one dumb milenial who thinks everything and acts snoby. Most people can't afford 1000 euro watch, even less Omega Seamaster wich is a true professional divers watch and she says she hates helium escape walve wich has its specific purpuse.
The unfaltering honesty is really what makes this one a great video. The immediate reactions are the star of the show. It really did look like you both had fun putting this together.

Dang, I think the Sinn 104 is gorgeous! It's on my list to purchase one day.... too bad Courtney doesn't like it! Gotta say though, I get opinions from my gf before I get a watch, but I am the one that will be wearing it, so in the end, mine is the only opinion that counts (just saying!) ;)
These are my favourite videos. I agree with most of Courtney’s choices. I love her directness. Interesting how there are so many boring and ugly men’s watches that seem to be so popular but fun to see her lay into these!
She is right about the Nautilus and Royal Oak! Out of all the beautiful watches that Patek makes, for some strange reason the internet and watch collectors have decided that the Nautilus is the best one... such a shame

The VK overseas is absolutely stunning and criminally overlooked. The design language is so beautifully carried through the different pieces of the watch, your eyes are never overwhelmed and never bored. It is unified without being repetitive. Truly one of the greatest watches of all time.
i went to vc boutique recently and went to look at the overseas to see what the fuss is about. i dont really like the design... i wanted to like it but i just cant. maybe for now...
I'm just waiting for all of this pandemic bullshit to go away to finally pull the trigger on a royal oak I found. Can't risk spending that money now if this goes for longer than expected and I need to start using all my funds to survive.
I think the overseas is a little bit more pedestrian in its design. In that regard it is much more easily accepted. But for the price I think the the Royal Oak is just really special and the design has REALLY grown on me ( I initially disliked it as well)
Enjoyed having Courtney on the video. Now, I was surprised that I agreed with Courtney's watch choices in every category...except for the Cartier. That's one of the few I had an immediate negative reaction to. I lean towards simplicity of design, especially the more expensive the watch. Anything above about $20k, I'd want a classic design that will good now or in 50 years, which rules out a lot of trendy designs that date the watch, and generally no bling (though I did see a Credor yesterday in a video, a skeletal one that was designed to look like giant waves in Japanese paintings. It was truly a piece of art!).
The Tissot Gentleman would make an excellent everyday and sports watch with its luminous hands and indexes and the 100m WR rating, very comparable to a Datejust which is intended as a sport watch over dress watch. I feel the Tissot could be one of the great all around choices.
It's really great to hear a woman's opinion on our beloved hobby. Sometimes we forget to buy a watch because it just "looks good" and we get caught up in brand names, specs, etc. I found myself saying, "huh... I never thought of that watch in that way, she's right!"
I usually don't watch videos of this length but when I saw that you were both on it I found myself clicking it. I didn't even notice the time passing and wouldn't have minded if it had been longer. You are both so watchable and entertaining. Courtney comes out with some brilliant one liners and her reactions are priceless. You have found a magic formula. Keep 'em coming.
Courtney and I had the same taste on pretty much everything because I like simple and steel bracelet most of the time. But when she HATED the Omega Seamaster 300 my heart shattered because my girlfriend doesn’t like it at all either. But I will have one of my own one day and I will be ecstatic about it! Mark my words! Lol

I love what Courtney said about the Vacheron Overseas. Such an underrated watch in my opinion. I don't like the AP royal oak at all. I really like the Patek Nautilus but I LOVE the Overseas.

First of all, watch reviews with Courtney are the best. I honestly need her to react to every watch you review. The reason is because a big part of why men wear watches is to catch a womans eye. Admit or not its true. So her reactions, even if she hates my favorite watch, are super useful to hear. That said, let her react naturally. Quit trying to shush her initially because if a womans initial react to my watch is "ughh" i need to kniw that😂😂😂Anyways great videos and i hope she reviews more with you. Also i second whoever said tou should react to her handbags 😂it would just be entertaining
Hey Teddy, I think a video with Courtney focusing on microbrands would be great! It could have the same setup with budget ranges and styles. Another idea is to do microbrands and then an immediate comparison to a popular favorite from a well known brand that competes directly. Cool video!
for watches under 500$, I have a tissot v8 swissmatic. msrp is like 450 but you can get it a lot of places for 350 now. I dont know if you could beat that package: swiss made aumatic, from a well known brand, saphire glass and 100meter water resistance.
I was thinking that the Tissot at 5:07, the Gentleman Powermatic 80, would be a good every day watch. It pairs with leather straps quite well, too. For a dress watch in keeping with the Tissot brand in the ~$500 range, I like the Le Locle Powermatic in either the silver dial, silver case + black leather strap or the gold case, ivory dial + brown leather strap.
I LOVE these type of videos!! As a man, I’m always curious to hear a female perspective on the look of various watches. Keep doing more of this type of thing Teddy. (Plus, any video with her in it gets a ‘thumbs up’ from me very quick!)
16:40 I didn't like the Seamaster 300M either when I first saw it online - then I saw one in a shop - totally sold on it after then. It's a very good example of those watches that you need to see in person to appreciate. The whole range they do is great IMHO.
1. Bambino & Kamasu (although, I actually prefer the Japanese version of the Mako II) 2. Tissot (although, I prefer the Le Locle w/ the Romans) & Glycine 3. Junghans Max Bill (I'd get the Anthracite dial) & Sinn 104 (although that Nomos is nice!) 4. None of those! haha (But the Nomos if I had to pick; Baum a close second) & Oris (or a different Black Bay) 5. A different Grand Seiko but out of these the IWC & Tudor Black Bay 58 (I do like the Omega though) 6. Rolex GMT & Glasshütte Original (I like the Reverso but not that one) 7. A. Lange & Söhne (I'd get the Datograph if an option but Lange 1 if necessary) & Honestly don't like any of the Holy Trinity offerings here but VC or AP if you twist my arm; never the Patek Nautilus--hate it Favorite overall: A. Lange & Söhne all day, every day & Below $2,500 would be Junghans Max Bill Least Favorite: Lower End = Mido; Luxury = Patek Nautilus Dishonorable mention: Am I the only one that hates the Cartier Tank? I love his whole look. He looks like he’s from another era. Very vintage, sophisticated, and even his hairdo looks vintage. She’s really picky about which watches she hates or loves, lol. She looks like a high maintenance girl.
I own the Cellini you showed and I must say it's a very underrated watch. Rolex isn't known for it's leather band models but they are still just as exquisite as their all metal models. Simple and sophisticated. It's a great dress watch.
Courtney is easy to read (at least when it comes to watches)... in fact, I watched this with my lady and she was fairly much of the same opinion as Courtney. Women associate metal bracelets with luxury and thus will almost always pick the bracelet watch as their preferred 'dress' watch whereas most males will prefer the leather band as the dress watch. As for divers etc. I've yet to meet a woman who 'loves' them, most really don't like them, unless they have a Rolex logo on them.

Hey Teddy, I watched your review of the TIMEX WATERBURY awhile back and fell in love with the watch and it is on my TO BUY LIST. My question is what would be the women's equivalent because I'm not sure if timex makes a female version. And yes more videos with Courtney would be great.
It's funny because I'm a gay guy and my taste seems to almost perfectly align with hers. I honestly just can't conceive how some of those designs can even get conceived much less approved, liked or even bought, especially the divers with those oversized dots and everything, they're mostly hideous. Instead I really love the classic, elegant, dressy and minimalist ones, also when they have an open heart/skeleton design which accentuates a watch's uniquely mechanical nature. Love that stuff. Also Teddy really nails that slightly nerdy but extremely classy look, very handsome indeed.

I have started buying automatic watches got my first one the other day. Got the BERSIGAR BG-1617, I am mainly getting them for every goal or a achievement I have made, it’s a nice reminder wearing it on my wrist, but will get some for occasions.
Courtney shows excellent judgement!!! ..an eye for symmetry and design, a feel for quality...I love the combination of the two of you also...you make a beautiful team!
Honestly she has great taste. I loved most of her picks. Especially the Vacheron. The other two grail watches are hype right now in my opinion. FYI I got the pencil reference and agree :), the "round" comment made me laugh out loud.
I buy watches based on how it looks and matches an outfit. I agree with the too simple and boring looks. The only exception is that I like the 300 Seamaster with the solid blue vs. wavy. I’m shopping for that actually. You should add fashion and homage watches to the mix disregarding the prices. Obviously, you’d have to Photoshop out or blur any logos and brand labels. Another idea is to have her pick which is the movement brand vs. the fashion re-brand.
I’ve had a crush on her from watching her dating advice videos, but now that I know whe perefers the VC to the PP and AP, I’m in love… I just picked up the black dial VC, I’m in love with that too.

Dang, I think the Sinn 104 is gorgeous! It's on my list to purchase one day.... too bad Courtney doesn't like it! Gotta say though, I get opinions from my gf before I get a watch, but I am the one that will be wearing it, so in the end, mine is the only opinion that counts (just saying!) ;)

It's great to get a woman's opinion on one of these channels for a change, and especially a woman who isn't as deep into the watch miasma as you are. This is refreshing. She's reacting to the dials first, and that's exactly what I react to first. I'd like to see a video of her reacting to popular representative styles of watches (field, dress, diver). Love it.

The VK overseas is absolutely stunning and criminally overlooked. The design language is so beautifully carried through the different pieces of the watch, your eyes are never overwhelmed and never bored. It is unified without being repetitive. Truly one of the greatest watches of all time.
Agree with Courtney about the holy trinity, I would take VC Overseas over Nautilus or Royal Oak any day.
i went to vc boutique recently and went to look at the overseas to see what the fuss is about. i dont really like the design... i wanted to like it but i just cant. maybe for now...
I'm just waiting for all of this pandemic bullshit to go away to finally pull the trigger on a royal oak I found. Can't risk spending that money now if this goes for longer than expected and I need to start using all my funds to survive.
The VC Overseas is also my favorite out of the three. What's weird though is it doesn't hack! Haha
I think the overseas is a little bit more pedestrian in its design. In that regard it is much more easily accepted. But for the price I think the the Royal Oak is just really special and the design has REALLY grown on me ( I initially disliked it as well)
Enjoyed having Courtney on the video. Now, I was surprised that I agreed with Courtney's watch choices in every category...except for the Cartier. That's one of the few I had an immediate negative reaction to. I lean towards simplicity of design, especially the more expensive the watch. Anything above about $20k, I'd want a classic design that will good now or in 50 years, which rules out a lot of trendy designs that date the watch, and generally no bling (though I did see a Credor yesterday in a video, a skeletal one that was designed to look like giant waves in Japanese paintings. It was truly a piece of art!).
The Tissot Gentleman would make an excellent everyday and sports watch with its luminous hands and indexes and the 100m WR rating, very comparable to a Datejust which is intended as a sport watch over dress watch. I feel the Tissot could be one of the great all around choices.

It's really great to hear a woman's opinion on our beloved hobby. Sometimes we forget to buy a watch because it just "looks good" and we get caught up in brand names, specs, etc. I found myself saying, "huh... I never thought of that watch in that way, she's right!"
I usually don't watch videos of this length but when I saw that you were both on it I found myself clicking it. I didn't even notice the time passing and wouldn't have minded if it had been longer. You are both so watchable and entertaining. Courtney comes out with some brilliant one liners and her reactions are priceless. You have found a magic formula. Keep 'em coming.

Courtney and I had the same taste on pretty much everything because I like simple and steel bracelet most of the time. But when she HATED the Omega Seamaster 300 my heart shattered because my girlfriend doesn’t like it at all either. But I will have one of my own one day and I will be ecstatic about it! Mark my words! Lol

I love what Courtney said about the Vacheron Overseas. Such an underrated watch in my opinion. I don't like the AP royal oak at all. I really like the Patek Nautilus but I LOVE the Overseas.

First of all, watch reviews with Courtney are the best. I honestly need her to react to every watch you review. The reason is because a big part of why men wear watches is to catch a womans eye. Admit or not its true. So her reactions, even if she hates my favorite watch, are super useful to hear. That said, let her react naturally. Quit trying to shush her initially because if a womans initial react to my watch is "ughh" i need to kniw that😂😂😂Anyways great videos and i hope she reviews more with you. Also i second whoever said tou should react to her handbags 😂it would just be entertaining

for watches under 500$, I have a tissot v8 swissmatic. msrp is like 450 but you can get it a lot of places for 350 now. I dont know if you could beat that package: swiss made aumatic, from a well known brand, saphire glass and 100meter water resistance.

I was thinking that the Tissot at 5:07, the Gentleman Powermatic 80, would be a good every day watch. It pairs with leather straps quite well, too. For a dress watch in keeping with the Tissot brand in the ~$500 range, I like the Le Locle Powermatic in either the silver dial, silver case + black leather strap or the gold case, ivory dial + brown leather strap.

16:40 I didn't like the Seamaster 300M either when I first saw it online - then I saw one in a shop - totally sold on it after then. It's a very good example of those watches that you need to see in person to appreciate. The whole range they do is great IMHO.

I own the Cellini you showed and I must say it's a very underrated watch. Rolex isn't known for it's leather band models but they are still just as exquisite as their all metal models. Simple and sophisticated. It's a great dress watch.
Check the 70s cellini, with squared design and wooden dial.

Courtney is easy to read (at least when it comes to watches)... in fact, I watched this with my lady and she was fairly much of the same opinion as Courtney. Women associate metal bracelets with luxury and thus will almost always pick the bracelet watch as their preferred 'dress' watch whereas most males will prefer the leather band as the dress watch. As for divers etc. I've yet to meet a woman who 'loves' them, most really don't like them, unless they have a Rolex logo on them.

It's funny because I'm a gay guy and my taste seems to almost perfectly align with hers. I honestly just can't conceive how some of those designs can even get conceived much less approved, liked or even bought, especially the divers with those oversized dots and everything, they're mostly hideous. Instead I really love the classic, elegant, dressy and minimalist ones, also when they have an open heart/skeleton design which accentuates a watch's uniquely mechanical nature. Love that stuff.
Also Teddy really nails that slightly nerdy but extremely classy look, very handsome indeed.

I have started buying automatic watches got my first one the other day. Got the BERSIGAR BG-1617, I am mainly getting them for every goal or a achievement I have made, it’s a nice reminder wearing it on my wrist, but will get some for occasions.

Honestly she has great taste. I loved most of her picks. Especially the Vacheron. The other two grail watches are hype right now in my opinion. FYI I got the pencil reference and agree :), the "round" comment made me laugh out loud.
I buy watches based on how it looks and matches an outfit. I agree with the too simple and boring looks. The only exception is that I like the 300 Seamaster with the solid blue vs. wavy. I’m shopping for that actually. You should add fashion and homage watches to the mix disregarding the prices. Obviously, you’d have to Photoshop out or blur any logos and brand labels. Another idea is to have her pick which is the movement brand vs. the fashion re-brand.
