@demonorca9539 As soon as you go down the ramp that the Pelican dropped you off at, you see a warthog that picks up a marine into the Gunner seat by the medic tents. Throw a nade under the front wheel, the hog should flip over and eject the marines out. Then, get into the hog and proceed the mission normally as if you were still on foot. (So drive into the building, up the REX stairs, get to sgt banks, etc) When you drive out to the line of jackels, turn left and drive under the gauss hog the moment it makes a jump from the hill on the street. You should be able to knock the gauss hog to it's side when it lands on you. This will break the script and allow you to free-roam while the shadows are around.

@@MintBlitz Yes I just found this out now, glad someone else said it too. As soon as the gauss hog arrives you just try to drive it and it breaks the script. Then you just go to the shadow, kill the grunts and start driving it or using its cannon. It's also funny how there is a grunt in the Phantom if you fly up to it. You can kill the grunts in the Phantoms too but sadly you can't fly the phantoms.
What a dream come true. We’re exploring something we never thought we would be able to. It would be awesome to somehow get a dev kit and access the original for sure!
The demo is far from broken. I remember back then the dev that played this at the showcase said the patterns were so strict that it could crash anytime but another group of devs a couple years ago played it and free roamed everywhere without problems
That is another build of the E3 demo. If I recall correctly, Bungie made another build of that demo for the press after E3. Maybe that's the one 343i used some years ago.

i dont know why these aren't actually functioning at all in outskirts in the final game. guess that concept got recycled as the first half of Tip of the Spear in Halo Reach where you get to destroy AA guns and also on The Package.
It’s crazy that bungie didn’t have much time on halo2 because of Microsoft and they still made halo 2 masterpiece but they give 343 all the time in the world and they still can’t make masterpiece of a game infinite was a lot better then halo 4 and 5 but still not masterpiece like bungie games halo being around my life almost 23 in 2 days as it marks its 23rd anniversary I was 2 years old when first halo ce released I still remember halo 2 mid night release and halo 3 greats time and memories

Kinds wish there would be a Halo 2 mod that uses all these effects from the E3 demo in the full game.

You can ride in the pelican after the cutscene, also fly behind phantoms to shoot the grunts out of the turrets
I think e3 phantoms have no back doors. Next video try to use the flying skull to get in and kill the pilot lol

I bet Rejected Shotgun would be able to fix it to work correctly.
It's not hard to fix vehicles even with basic mod knowledge

You can also clip into the front of the Phantoms and find grunts inside, if you kill them the front turret will stop shooting at you.
There are grunts in the phantoms too at the end of the level. You can clip through the nose of the phantoms to see them.
The grunts also pilot the phantoms too.
theres alot of lil things iv noticed in the demo. its awesome
The phantoms have pilots and gunners that don't do anything, if you kill them the phantoms will still continue on their path.
Its so cool that you can shoot with it. It was disappointing that you couldnt use it in official Halo 2 if you tried.

Here's an early spoiler, the phantom turret is piloted by grunts. Not the phantom itself, just the turret.
