THF:Korkai (கொற்கை)

Korkai, a small village in the Thoothukudi District of Tamilnadu, was once a famous Pandya capital and popular ancient harbour.
This video features an Interview of Mr.Chandravanan who was the curator worked in the team conducted the excavations in this ancient city.

Dr Subha...when I saw this video I recall the same place name over Afghanistan. As when I was tracing the tamil place names in Afghanistan and pakistan. So, if this place is Pandiyan ruled or kingdom place then obviously pandiyans would have lived over there too.. pls do some findings on the korkai place in Afghanistan too...

What a wonderful video...My native is near Udangudi region. I was searching more Korkai related details after release of Book Korkai by Joe D cruz. Orissa Balu sir once said, areas near Thiruchendur region might still hold many archaeological surprises. I have shared the video to many of relatives too.
