    The first thing I do before anything else is pay my rent. My landlord has taxes, water bill, maintenance and insurance to pay on this building. Who am I do make things hard for him?
    I live here and take care of it like I own it.

    People live in those conditions because of the Councils, they're the reason new apartments can't be built because it takes years of permits and inspections and fees and lawyers and court and because they squeeze every possible shilling out of everyone they can which makes the actual cost to the landlords ridiculously high and prohibitive.

    • @joefrost2163
      @joefrost2163 6 месяцев назад

      in the 40's and 50's they would make a house plans for 1 stye and get permits for the house and they make 50 house the same! it was easy to get things down.

    Yikes! When I aged out of foster care, I squatted in a church with a dozen or so people. I had just turned 18, and I had nowhere to go. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and I was not prepared for independent living.

      Yeah, I feel that they should have better programs for kids aging out the system. Yes alot of states pays for the foster kids to go to college, and some give a couple hundred. They do nothing when it comes to housing.

    Squatters are the reason why landlords are going to start taking matters into their own hands. It's unbelievable this happens.

    The part I don't understand about the squatters, if they are doing it simply to have a place to stay, why destroy it?

    • @jamesatkins8344
      @jamesatkins8344 7 месяцев назад

      Because squatters never do anything to maintain the property their in they only destroy and bring down living conditions

    • @droopy_eyes
      @droopy_eyes 7 месяцев назад +9

      They did not earn those places to live, so they're not attached to them.

    • @antheairenedevilliers1657
      @antheairenedevilliers1657 6 месяцев назад +3

      My question exactly! A place to stay is one thing. The decision to destroy it and live in filth and squalor is another thing altogether and tells a lot about the people involved

    • @LoriFahy
      @LoriFahy 2 месяца назад

      If you think about where these types of people are at mentally, and apply that to a place they know they have no attachment too, as well as knowing its temporary, thats why they dont care.

    I dont get it, why does the housing inspector keep saying “its for the health & safety of the tenants” albeit illegal due to overcrowding when she said the landlord is going to evict them. Does she care they be out on the streets with very young children in tow? 😳how does that help their health & safety? Since no mention of alternative accommodation for them? 😮

      I will say Britain seem to take better care of family's with children. They find them housing, in the states a shelter is the main option. Who cares if you got kids here in America, you ain't got no money that's your problem. But these same people are prolife, that's a whole other issue I'm having with people here.

    SOCIALISM for all. As an unemployed individual, I believe housing is a human right and demand it be paid by tax payers. In fact, I believe cars should be given to the unemployed. Why the unemployed have less just because we don't work? SOCIALISM. The unemployed should have more than the employed.

      While they may not have been born in England, I'm not sure why you say they aren't citizens or working towards citizenship, particularly with Great Britain's history of Empire. Maybe I zoned out on that. My state senator here in the US was born in Venezuela but she's as much an American as I am, with my ancestorial line reaching back to 1642 in MA.
