The first thing I do before anything else is pay my rent. My landlord has taxes, water bill, maintenance and insurance to pay on this building. Who am I do make things hard for him? I live here and take care of it like I own it.
People live in those conditions because of the Councils, they're the reason new apartments can't be built because it takes years of permits and inspections and fees and lawyers and court and because they squeeze every possible shilling out of everyone they can which makes the actual cost to the landlords ridiculously high and prohibitive.
in the 40's and 50's they would make a house plans for 1 stye and get permits for the house and they make 50 house the same! it was easy to get things down.
Yikes! When I aged out of foster care, I squatted in a church with a dozen or so people. I had just turned 18, and I had nowhere to go. I had no idea what I was supposed to do, and I was not prepared for independent living.
As an ex foster child myself I can relate to the real struggles after care brings not just in the past but still going on now. Sending you strength and healing
Yeah, I feel that they should have better programs for kids aging out the system. Yes alot of states pays for the foster kids to go to college, and some give a couple hundred. They do nothing when it comes to housing.
My question exactly! A place to stay is one thing. The decision to destroy it and live in filth and squalor is another thing altogether and tells a lot about the people involved
If you think about where these types of people are at mentally, and apply that to a place they know they have no attachment too, as well as knowing its temporary, thats why they dont care.
What kind of piece of trash doesn’t take their animals with them immediately. She just abandoned her rabbits in the back yard, the land lady was kind enough to take care of them. I’m glad they aren’t going back to her and going somewhere else.
That's the same in the US. Usually what happens is that your rent is due on the 1st, they give you till the 5th to pay it, and then anytime after that you can notice that they could throw you out in 72 hours
"trying to make the world a better place" How is he doing that when mooching on other people and causing them massive costs? He left the rat race.. to live like a rat.
Not impressed with the lady from Harrow council, Treated people more like old friends rather than anything else. Suggest she has an interpreter on call.
I wish we had something like this in the USA. Maybe then HUD would wake up and do their job instead of over looking these issues displayed in the video. Mold, no ventilation, rodantd, etc.
I dont get it, why does the housing inspector keep saying “its for the health & safety of the tenants” albeit illegal due to overcrowding when she said the landlord is going to evict them. Does she care they be out on the streets with very young children in tow? 😳how does that help their health & safety? Since no mention of alternative accommodation for them? 😮
I will say Britain seem to take better care of family's with children. They find them housing, in the states a shelter is the main option. Who cares if you got kids here in America, you ain't got no money that's your problem. But these same people are prolife, that's a whole other issue I'm having with people here.
In one of the episodes I heard a mention of alternative housing. I think I heard both housing provided at expense of the derelict owner or by the council. Don't know the details.
SOCIALISM for all. As an unemployed individual, I believe housing is a human right and demand it be paid by tax payers. In fact, I believe cars should be given to the unemployed. Why the unemployed have less just because we don't work? SOCIALISM. The unemployed should have more than the employed.
I don't agree with squatting but, Those so called pastors aren't British and they aren't serving that community. The community would be British people. They shouldn't be there.
While they may not have been born in England, I'm not sure why you say they aren't citizens or working towards citizenship, particularly with Great Britain's history of Empire. Maybe I zoned out on that. My state senator here in the US was born in Venezuela but she's as much an American as I am, with my ancestorial line reaching back to 1642 in MA.
So addicted to these episodes! Thanks for uploading ❤
Same here! Totally binge-watching this!
Same, and I'm in the USA. Lol
The system is beyond broken!!!
gotta love Chris. Lovely chap. Always respectful and just. But also straightforward and strict
Close all the borders.

👍🇺🇲 SAME HERE PRIORITIES FIRST. NEVER LATE ON THE ROOF OVER MY HEAD.
😊 you are a wise one
I love so much waking up to a new episode every day. Thank you for bringing some entertainment..

😢I can not even imagine it.

@rachelmartin3631 That does not give you the right to move into other people's property.
Absolutely terrible. ❤
That nasty woman who left her pet rabbit behind should be arrested for animal cruelty 😡
agreed. its not the landlords responsibility to feed and water it.. what if she didnt see it? it would of died :(
Lots of people abandon pets. We have a cat that way. But she's loved and has been with the family for years now.
Squatters are the reason why landlords are going to start taking matters into their own hands. It's unbelievable this happens.
Then they'll be paying for the squatters.
Also, womp womp.
Don't buy up property as investments while families struggle to get on the housing ladder.
Beautiful church! Wish I could see it when it's done.
The part I don't understand about the squatters, if they are doing it simply to have a place to stay, why destroy it?
Because squatters never do anything to maintain the property their in they only destroy and bring down living conditions
They did not earn those places to live, so they're not attached to them.
My question exactly! A place to stay is one thing. The decision to destroy it and live in filth and squalor is another thing altogether and tells a lot about the people involved

Squatters are the worst. Their entitlement knows no bounds.
They are but it’s because the system in UK allows them to be…
What kind of piece of trash doesn’t take their animals with them immediately. She just abandoned her rabbits in the back yard, the land lady was kind enough to take care of them. I’m glad they aren’t going back to her and going somewhere else.
I wonder how old that church is? It's beautiful.
They said 19th century, so that means 1800-1899. Made sometime in those years.
why they wait so long to kick them out ? in canada if you don't pay on the 1st you have 5th of the month or you get a notice you are get the boot out.
Isnt there a 6 month wait to take the tennants to court there, was a video about it
In Ontario it's a 9 to 10 month wait to get a hearing. Small landlords are losing their properties.
@@aldasoares4019 terrible
Should be just a straight up law without having to go to court. Month late and you're out!
That's the same in the US. Usually what happens is that your rent is due on the 1st, they give you till the 5th to pay it, and then anytime after that you can notice that they could throw you out in 72 hours

"Left the rat race to live like a rat" brilliant.

Mister Branker? More like Mister WBanker!! Blimey!
I wish we had something like this in the USA. Maybe then HUD would wake up and do their job instead of over looking these issues displayed in the video. Mold, no ventilation, rodantd, etc.
Those priests are scammers.
The system is f_ _ _ _ d
What do you mean when you say "get his finger out".
Why didn't the reverend tell the squatters that they could stay there if they wanted to help clean the place up? Win ,win!
I never understand why they don't get after the money they still own to the landlord. I would get every penny back.
I wish they would show what they done with the church
I love when squatters act like they have al the rights. People say Americans act entitled.

The counsel will find them alternative housing.

I watched this episode years ago. My question is, and still now is, why doesn't the pastor help his people in Africa, and they need the help?
The ram looks like a well point driver lol and what a shame the stain glass windows they broke pity😢
"toilet" 🤣

Nope you must work for what you need.
I love this show but ozge ruins it for me
Ah....there is no need for another church anyway
Would someone knowledgeable please explain clearly, what is apparently a misunderstanding for so many, SQUATTERS RIGHTS. Thank you.
So the religious men who want to help the community aren't helping these two in their community.
They there bullin in the church malpwop
Landlords are greedy.
What kind of priests are they , where is the humility,
Exactly!! I found them to be very rude and uncaring. I think there's only one part of the community that will benefit from their 'church'.
Those ministers were rather nasty.

They are probably from one of Britain's formally occupied countries they plundered.🤔🦘
@@cindycraig3164racists gotta racist. We are seeing that in full blown riots in the UK right now
their government did that to them! I'm not surprised, but glad I DIDN'T move to the UK
