I have been following you for about a year now and I first off want to say your video production and editing are awesome. The way you blend in footage from other drivers, yourself, and the broadcast really makes for a holistic experience when watching on YT.
In the end accidents happen in racing and seeing this one hurt because I love seeing you battle your way back through the pack but, you live to fight another day. They say hind sight is always 20/20 but what you do with that info and how you bounce back is FAR more important. Brush it off, rebuild, and show Road America you cannot be beaten!
Thanks again for brining all of us along for your racing journey.

In 30yrs competing I have learnt 2 things. 1: sometimes there s nothing you can do. Its not a lack of talent/observation/whatever, its pure bad luck. There was no way of seeing what was going on from your position, sometimes shit just happens. 2: Sometimes the gods of racing are worth listening to. The shaft problem, twice, the not getting back out at the end because another car had fallen off, all these things would be telling me to think about iwhether to call it quits for that particular event. And believe me i know, the only 2 big accidents Ive had, when I look back on them, I should have listened to the warning signs 😂 Great video, looking forward to part 2.......oh and that flat shift is really good.

We're all captains after the war, but that Corvette's driver lacks of experience and is "easy" to tell because as soon as you spin for whatever is the reason, foot on clutch and brake to avoid going backwards which is extremely dangerous, and what happened if you check the video.
Love your content, can't wait for the next video.

Yea, not much you could do. The hand wave was taught to me in bmwcca club racing school and has been useful in more than a few situations in champcar/wrl situations for me in both seeing other drivers do it and myself using it to warn others behind me. I have a few friends that race in GLTC with you and they all love it. Keep up the hard work, rebuild it better, and get back to it. You have a quick car and your car control is off the charts good.

its easy to sit and watch footage, analyze all the tiny details, say i should have seen this or i should have done that. but watching it in normal speed there is nothinng you could have done to mitigate this crash other than position yourself differently, but that would compromize your race and would have needed you to see in to the future to make such a decition. you positioned yourself based on the information you had at that moment. and at that moment that was a safe move and the best thing you could do to gain an advantage in the race. you did what any racer in your position would do.

The c-clip I use for builds that have the same issue as yours are round, but have squared edges. So instead of round stock, it's either stamped machined. They look like small piston rings. The only issue is they WILL make installation and removal a bit more of a hassle.

This is my home track and I grew up driving and walking the whole place. One of the few old school tracks (although the repave helped) still seeing a lot of action, and from a fan perspective you can buy a general admission ticket and walk, bike or cycle (under 250cc) to every corner on the track. They added new spectator sections last year also. I've driven a handful of European and West Coast tracks, along with most in the midwest and RA is still in my top 3. Wish you had better luck here.
Just got done watching the whole vid. That corner leading into Hurry Downs is usually pretty fast and the accidents there normally end up with cars going wide and people needing to hug the inside to avoid cars trying to return to track. That's a pretty uncommon accident there (the way the Vette ended up across the entire corner) and I don't think you should have done anything differently. That said taking a wider entry there does open yourself up to people taking a shallow line behind you and possibly giving you a love tap as you're trying to take a slower entry into the corner. Mid pack is always hard and I generally feel that most of the time there isn't a lot you can do if you get collected due to another incident just because there are usually so many cars around.

Unfortunate Broski! Looks like the ITR might be up 🧐 Honestly, you did what you could on that turn with all the information you were processing at that given moment. Cannot be thinking theres a yellow around every corner, truly just an unfortunate series of events that you just got caught in. Even the announcers felt the pain, but like a Phoenix, and the old hot hatch, you'll rise again. Stay on their necks Eric!

All Tabb coulda done was hit his Emergency lights or quick triple tap the brakes if distance allows.... either way the position you were in did not give you much controlled run off space the way the incident unraveled. I hope the car is fixable, seen ya repair other stuff and ya just got that daggone blip shift working smooth!

That is just so unlucky. Nothing you can see, just a tiny misjudgement by the S2000 led to a chain reaction that no one was really to blame at all. It’s a racing incident. Nothing you could do.
As an aside, love the content, love the channel, great seeing what a fantastic job you do, preparing and driving. Inspirational for a UK DC2 racer
