I didn't think anything could sound better than your previous song for the Epic of Gilgamesh, but this does it. It's amazing to hear these stories, possibly older than 10,000 years, being brought to life like this.

Secondly, giving the growing body of evidence, it is very likely that the events these stories are referencing are over 12,000 years old. And we have examples of similar stories from all over the world, originating from around the Younger Dryas period.
@@CristiNeagu while it is possible for their to be stories from the younger dryas (as native Australians have stories that are close to that time period), this is talking about enki going to the netherworld through its river (which is likely where the river styx comes from), which has approximately nothing to do with a global flood. The land where the Sumerians are from has rivers such as the Euphrates and they also have the Persian gulf so they would be acquainted with sailing and very likely experienced storms while sailing at sea or river.

On a technical note after the ice age ended water levels rose which increased the likelihood of flooding so technically any flood story is sort of referencing the after affects of the younger dryas and since there was a continuity of culture from the younger dryas to now, all flood stories would reflect the ancestral cultural memories of the floods of that time (the only time people would sort of seen flooding as new would be after the ice age, though since people likely live on higher concentrations on the coasts flooding wouldn’t be alien to them)

The flood that many cultures around the world refer to was most likely not caused by normal melting of the ice caps. That would take centuries and would be most unlike the abrupt events described in these myths. The floods in question were caused by what is becoming more and more certain to have been a comet impact 11-12,000 years ago, during the Younger Dryas (may have actually caused it). And besides the references to floods, these cultures also reference cataclysms and serpents in the sky (you can believe what you want, but that sounds like a comet to me). There is geological evidence for this impact, as well as evidence of massive meltwater events in North America (the Scablands).

Zurna is also played in Turkey and in Bulgaria by Turkish Roma. I tried it out myself when I was in Bulgaria. It's fun to play and it is L-O-U-D and wonderful.

Zurna is also played in Turkey and in Bulgaria by Turkish Roma. I tried it out myself when I was in Bulgaria. It's fun to play and it is L-O-U-D and wonderful.
