    I am also a professional vocalist and vocal coach as well. You are so right LPR in some cases is so silent that you can even mistake it for asthma or heart disease as you can have shortness of breath and tightness in chest which is from improper diaphragmatic expansion.

      Nice to connect! Yes, there's not much research on it but I definitely experienced that as a symptom before mine was diagnosed and it was quite unsettling.

    The meds they recommend for reflux deteriorate bones. Personal experience!!!

      Hi, just read your comment. I've been on omeprozole for about 15 years and in the last couple of years have had problems with pain in my elbow joints, knees, shoulders and hands. I've never heard of bone deterioration caused by these meds but the alarm bells are now ringing!

    Lucky you for getting all that testing done! I'm guessing you had to ask for all that stuff because I can't imagine they just offer it out to everyone? - It took me 12 months on the waiting list to get offered an appointment with the ENT at my local hospital. They did the flexible endoscopy and identified polyps in my larnyx and said they can cut them out, and thats been it. No other tests or investigation, and I still suffer from all the other symptoms I described beside voice problems (excessive mucus, post nasal drip, sore throat most days etc). They've offered me a date for the surgery but I don't feel comfortable going ahead with it when there's a whole bunch of problems besides the polyps that haven't even been investigated yet. It all feels very rushed. LPR seems very likely given my symptoms but nobody has even asked/mentioned investigating it.

    what are your thoughts on apple cider vinegar? ive been on PPI's for over a month now and not really much improvement. some days are better than others but still living on shaky ground. thanks for your help!

      Well, I've done a lot of reading about apple cider vinegar! Ultimately I decided not to take it as there was a lot of mixed research/results but it's so personal. PPIs did nothing for me so now I just elevate the bed when I have symptoms and swear by Gavisgon Advance. Sorry, not much help but it's so different for everyone's symptoms!

    How long should i take vocal rest mam?

    • @VoxYoga
      @VoxYoga  2 года назад +1

      This completely depends on your situation and your voice! If you're just tired, a few days will help but if you've been diagnosed with an issue then your healthcare provider will advise.

    I don't experience events, except infrequent burping. Can't identify any trigger foods
    I quit most yoga poses and yoga class. Many poses might induce reflux. Don't want even one more reflux event.

      Woooow! Thats way too much! So sorry about that elizabeth. I'm currently in that state right now after suffering from the same complications for years without knowing. My music career was punched badly till i got fed up. 2 days ago, my doctor prescribed me PPI which i've used for 2 days now. I've been trying to catch what the effect was from people who have used it but they've been talking a lot about bone damage and all... Sad to know!
