This hit me like a mac fucking truck when I heard it the first time. I was in *shambles*. My father had a coke addiction. Left us when I was 9 weeks old. Mom left when I was 2. Drugs are fucking awful man.
I’ll be honest I’ve been listening to him for like 5-6 months he is seriously helping people and he’s genuinely a nice guy like I messaged him about this song and his response was so genuine
I hered this song a couple of days ago and I've been blown away. I am not an addict (fortunatetly), yet this song for some reason reminds me of a friend I used to know (she also wasn't an addict when we last talked and I am certain she still isn't). We had a falling out when I told her I had a crush on her... I have had a fucking amazing time the last couple of months, yet I found myself missing her alot recently. We haven't spoken in over a year now and I am fine most days, but those days when I ain't just don't seem to get any easier to handle even with (or maybe exactly because) all those days that passed. I loved that young woman more then I wanted to admit (to myself as well as to her I think), so yeah: It sucks not being able to shake the feeling that the both of us saw we where starting to talk less and less about whatever we had on our minds and more about the serious shit, laughing way less (if at all even) together and her words just always caring that uncertainty of wheather she was just doing her usual teasing, or if the words where just a way to (subconscious or well aimed and with full intend) show me how she grew more and more distant from me... and I am certain we both saw what went on, and I can say I tried all I could to keep us together, but it seemed like either she didn't realize the situation we where in or she just made up her mind about us not being meant to pull through it... Honestly broke my heart back then and I can safely say it's damn clear I obviously haven't been able to move on and get over her. Like I said: My life isn't aweful, far from it, and I learned to love and forgive myself for a lot of things, but that thing I can't seem to be able to forgive myself for... I know I will be able to one day, just not yet
Im about to have my first kid and hearing him talk about his dad’s addiction broke me. I could never imagine my kid feeling this way. Especially when he said “If only u loved me like u loved getting high”. Please get help before it’s too late
i love how you interpret it. i think it can be both or how ever you view it he can be talking to his father but at the same time can’t live without the drugs either he really made a beautiful song for many people to listen to and take what they did out of it. love your video man keep up the work

Man, 10 years straight, 5 days a week, a bottle of jack Daniel's a day. And somehow I made it out. I didn't win. Its definitely not won cause man, I wanna go back to that so bad sone times. I'm not sober but responsible now but the urge to break loose never fades
I feel it brother. Smoked meth everyday for a decade. Kicked it , been sober 2 years next week but here I am drinkin at least a 5th of Barton’s a day, subtle justification “at least I ain’t smoking meth”. Maybe one day eh🤍
