Rin was Obito's one only reason for living. When she died he literally felt as though he had fallen into hell itself. He cared so much about her that he would gladly have sacrificed the entire world without her and watch everything burn. Even in the end when he went back to help Kakashi he said that he only did it so Kaskashi wouldn't be able to follow them and that he could finally have some alone time with Rin. Him helping to save the world doesn't undo the fact that he's the main person responsible for all the fuckery that happened. He didn't have an evil reason for his actions. He believed that he was aiming for a perfect world. Considering what the world was willing to do to everyone just for power struggles he was a saint.
For what it's worth, he probably would have been executed by the Allied Shinobi Forces if he lived past the war. He very much acknowledges that he can never make up for all the shit he did, so he just tries to be better, and then decides to sacrifice himself to save people he views as better than him (Naruto and Kakashi). Like, he was going to die regardless, as torturing him wouldn't have really done anything and might have actually strained relations in the Alliance; him choosing to be better for as long as he is able is the best that he could have done. Alternatively, his skills in political subterfuge, information gathering, and combat powers could have potentially been willingly utilized to some degree (I think he would have bucked any orders to commit atrocities if he'd been given them), but that would have relied on Obito no longer being seen as a threat/not someone who needed to be restrained. So yeah, he would have probably been executed before he could actually do anything else other than stop the war he caused. Whether or not the way he actually went out was satisfying is a whole-ass debate, but there wasn't actually much that could be done with him that would have made sense. The part that gets people is just, as you mentioned, that we see him go to the Pure Lands and be reunited with Rin. Probably would have worked better if we saw him being watched from the distance warily by those he harmed first (in the Pure Lands), THEN got his chance to sort of hash some of that stuff out with Rin (and others? Kushina would have been nice.)
About your question of what Naruto would do, we actually do see him react kind of like Obito. When he thought he saw Hinata die, he almost freed the Nine Tails. But Minato stopped him. When Neji died, Hinata snapped him out of it. When he was angry Obito had killed so many, even Sasuke snapped him out of it. I think that's what Kakashi meant when he said that he'll be there. Naruto will have people to support him and guide him back to the light. Obito had Madara, Sasuke had pretending-to-be-evil Itachi and Obito. Both were manipulated deeper into darkness and hate which is what caused them to become antagonists. But Naruto has people to pull him back.
I thought you forgotten about this series. Well about Obito I really let the fan base hatred of him influence my thinking back when it was first revealed. But after doing a couple of rewatches I really liked his character and learn it's best to form your own opinion on a character
To say that Obito was redeemed is like saying an arsonist is redeemed simply because they helped bring buckets to put out the burning house that they caused.
I have been waiting for this! Obito is one of my favourite characters in Naruto and I hope Tekking will do him justice. It's Tekking I am sure he will.
@@Tri2TT Naw, it was fine. It is clear that Tekking does not remember all the details and circumstances when it comes to Obitos life but he still managed to explain it in his own way and I am satisfied with it.
Tekking talking about people dying in Naruto's life and completely forgetting that Neji died in naruto's arms. While after just stating that he wouldn't let any of his comrades die. And let's not forget how Naruto lost his marbles when he thought pain killed Hinata. He let Kuruma go wild
Actually, interesting fact, though it isn't explored a whole lot, there's a very early scene in the bridge arc (where they fight Orochimaru in Shippuden) where Yamato uses some kind of technique to modulate his voice down to Sasori's growl, implying that it's sort of a thing shinobi can just do at a decently high level. Sasori himself would actually also be an example, assuming that's what he does when he's in his Hiruko puppet. So, yeah, Obito was probably just using that for his different voices! Especially given that he knew what Madara sounded like.
The point of the talk-no-jutsu is that everyone sees something of himself in Naruto, that's why it has Naruto to do it: it has the empathy to understand them, to see behind the lies they tell themselves, because he started as they were and went through similar trouble, but he didn't took the easy way out. He endured all of that pain and stayed true to himself. He earned "the friends he made along the way". He made choices they weren't strong enough to endorse themselves. He made the best out the little things that were given to him. In this sense, Naruto is everything they wanted to become, it's like the image of "who I'll be when I'll grow up" came to confront them and call them out on their BS. That's why a talk-no-justu can be done only by Naruto: after hearing the whispers in their ears of evil manipulators for years, it needs someone who knows what he's talking about to shake them off, no one else could. Yeah, talk-no-justu is still a meme, but it deserve more credit imho.
I think it's awesome that you were able to take a different angle on this video to get motivated to talk about something that you originally didn't want to make a video on.
Obito murdered half his own clan. But if kabuto can be trusted with orphans by naruto sure why not. Reminder kabuto has experimented on the level of orochi Maru. Obito is ok 👌
Itachi bullshit reform plus a backstory that makes sense as to why he would care for orphans after the fact? Still basically fucking weird, but muh peace. That's why it's so contrived.
And unlike everyone else Barry has no need for Hashirama cells, after all he ate the brick brick fruit despite being a brick just to give himself a weakness and make fights more interesting.
I remember being in junior high back in 2006 or so and arguing with other students over Obito being Tobi and being called crazy. We parted ways after high school but as soon as the news were official I contacted them through social media just to write "I told you so". Think that's sad? It's sadder knowing that's one of my life's highlight. 100% worth it!
Let’s be honest. Naruto had enough reason to go down the path obito went before he even graduated the academy. He had no parents, the whole entire village bullied him, except for a few, even though he had no control over being a jinchuriki, the third hokage did nothing to intervene with said bullying, and he basically lived in the projects.
@@seunglee6990 true but that would imply that every Uchiha only acts on emotion but they’re clearly capable of using reasoning like Itachi for example. Literally killed almost everyone he’s ever loved for the sake of the village and still stayed loyal even after. He was handed the shittiest hand one could receive and still had sense.
I like the in story commentary how madara is still considered a bigger threat over kaguya due to the actual battle experience. You have an all powerful rabbit goddess. But her fighting skills are worth shit. If madara attained the same level of power the bigger threat is madara.
It is May the 4th and you talk about a potential voice changer from a masked individual and you do not mention Darth Vader. This is a missed oportunity!
I was so mad cause Madara knew Nagato and wanted to manipulate him, yet we never get the backstory for that. Just Obito’s pathetic attempt to recruit Nagato when Yahiko was still alive and bitchslapped him with one “no”.
I really didn't think Obito was gonna be the final enemy of the series... Obito was an awsome character and one of the deepest ones in the series. To me, his death was one of the saddest in Naruto.
@@TheOjamaYellow remember when obito murdered the mist ninja immediately after rin died? He was wearing a zetsu then, known as guragura. That zetsu is more of a comedic character and obito modelled his Tobi persona after him. Hope this made it easier to understand.
Ren manipulated Kakashi to kill her because she didnt want to become a tool to be used against the village. Obito literally got there when it happened. Madara made sure that he told him too late just so he could push him more on his side. Manipulation tactic still. Dude was twisted.
This is so fucking good I was just watching ppl reacting to obito's true identity and my heart was pumping with thrill he is just the best villain in Naruto so i will have a really have a great experience hearing your opinions about him
26:55 That's an extremely reductive way to look at it. If he just wanted Rin back he could've Edo Tenseid her or even persuaded Nagato to bring her back instead of Madara. Indeed Rin was quintessential to Obito's character, but she wasn't just his childhood crush. She was a symbol, to him she represented the purity and kindness of his world, a world where being a child soldier was the norm. Rin was the catalyst to Obito's nihilism.
A little reminder , that it was not Kurenai ,who dropped the first 'Obito' in the series. It was Yugao Uzuki (purple haired Anbu ) who was at the memorial stone and spoke to Kakashi :) (and i admit , i had to google her name first, because i always forget it ^^)
Obito is my favourite Akatsuki member. That's right, I like him more than Itachi. Also, people often misunderstand Obito. In the back of Obito's mind he always harboured the slightest hint of doubt. Obito's constant interaction with Naruto is proof of this. Honestly, Obito effected by Naruto's most powerful jutsu, Talk no Jutsu, is much more believable than the one with Nagato. I knew that Sasuke was going to be the final fight for Naruto in the series. It was something that was set up for quite some time. Fun fact: Tobi is the actually name for the Zetsu that Obito called Guruguru, or Swirly.
Obito, most voice actors in anime Uchiha was my favorite character. Ran everything from behind the scenes as a lone teenager. I love how he would just roll up on people outta nowhere, throw Sasuke at some people and leave lol. It’s funny in retrospect just how obvious Kishi made it that Obito was behind the mask. the ending of Naruto with Kaguya was trash though I agree. Should have just been Obito and the shinobi against god mode Madara. Can’t blame Obito for Kishi making it stupid at the end to please shueisha and line up a sequel series. Worst case scenario for Naruto: Sasuke kills Sakura and Kakashi under the bridge after the Danzo fight and then Naruto has to kill Sasuke, wonder how much he’d want to be hokage then.
No one replied but people talked about Barry the fucking brick rather than Obito who controlled the whole series. There is no Naruto without Obito. Love him or you don’t get Naruto shippuden.
Completely loved this video the only thing I would like to say is when Obito met Madara he actually had a sharingon he had already placed the rinnegan in nagato's head and he had replaced it with the spare sharingan and honestly I would love for you to do one of these videos on Madara
I know this is a controversial take, but I'm with Swagkage on this one: Obito is up there with Orochimaru, Pain, and Madara as one of the best villains in the series. His powers were cool, the contrast between young and old Obito was great, and he had a stage presence on par with even Madara during the later arcs of Shippuden.
Honestly he stayed longer than he should have. If they cut the death scene a little bit I would have felt more. His powers were cool and honestly who couldn't figure out he was Obito. The hints were everywhere
@@Step43099 Naruto fans are not the brightest I know that since I was a kid. Bur yeah all the hints were around from the moment Obito became a thing in the backstory it was clear as day who it was
11:46 It's not the mask that changes Obito's voice to Madara's, Obito was using the same jutsu Yamato used to copy Sasori's voice on the tenchi bridge.
The way it was explained why Obito went along with the plan no matter what was because Madara put some kind of seal on his heart when he saved him. That's why he has Kakashi run him through with the lightning blade. Otherwise he wouldn't have been able to defy Mardara and become the 10 Tails. I REALLY hate that was the reason he gave. He just wants everyone to think of Obito as a good guy at the end. Like nothing was truly his fault, which is BS.
Watched the entire 40mins and I'm glad I did even though I disagree and really enjoyed obito's change later on but the points you brought up were pretty good tekking and I do agree on some of them, so I think it's a pretty great video
Man i remember when I was in like say middle school when i found out dub obito is voiced by vic i was like super shocked 🤣 obito broly and Edward that's 🔥
Even if obito was against madara from the beginning. I am not sure it’s cannon but there was a deadman switch acting as obito heart that would trigger if he ever turn against the cause. Obito played kakashi to remove it from him so he could be free of it. Make his own move to power.
That's canon, yeah. Madara placed a Cursed Seal on Obito's heart to prevent him from straying too far from the path of being his Infinite Tsukiyomi pawn; Madara also placed a Cursed Seal on Rin to prevent her from killing herself, hence why she needed Kakashi to assist her in her suicide. It's unknown to what extent the Cursed Seal played into Obito's actions, but it's supposed to be subtle. He couldn't become the Ten Tails Jinchuuriki until it was removed, which is why he goaded Kakashi into stabbing him there.
It was confirmed Madara set up the Rin incident. The Mist ninja were controlled by Madara to implant the 3 tails into Rin and have her escape, only to release the seal inside the Leaf village to rampage akin to what Obito later did with the 9 tails. Madara had put cused seals on the mist ninja and Rin to ensure they couldn't act against his plan, guaranteeing that at the very least the "puppet ninja" would kill Rin. Rin suiciding and the perfect timing of Obito arriving as Rin died were not part of Madaras plan, they were lucky coincidences, but Rin was going to die before Obitos eyes that day one way or another. Of course we know this is all true because Madara says so. When Madara confronts Obito in the Kamui space, he askes how Obito removed the cursed seal on his heart which was supposed to prevent Obito from ever becoming the 10 tails jinchuriki, which also paralyzes the cursed one of they tried to remove it. Obito confirms he had Kakashi pierce his heart with Chidori, which destroyed the seal. Madara replies with the huge reveal "Its a funny coincidence, that both of you removed it [the cursed seal] the same way". He then goes on to explain how rin's death was his plan. This was all explained in chapter 675.
Honestly, Tobito should've been the final antagonist. This guy masterminded a civil war, became so powerful he started a ninja world war and made all the villages team up against him, helped create a rogue group that nearly captured all the bijuu, helped perform several genocides and was ruthless and cunning to the point of killing former allies if they dared betray him and was even willing to hold a new born baby at ransom and was one of the few who became a sage of the six paths. He was also able to manipulate people to side with him with varying degrees of success. This is final boss material right here. And the best part is Tobito didn't do this alone but he took advantage of the chaos that already existed in narutoverse but made it work for him. Plus, him being a shinobi also shows the flaws in the system that could've prevented his rise to power if they were fixed but because of the apathy of the kage and ignorance of the masses certain problems and issues grow until its too late. Also, in the kage summit Tsuchikage used the Akatsuki for missions so he contributed to their growth and the other villages refused to aid Gaara stop Akatsuki even though the bijuu were being taken. However, one thing that never made sense to me was why he acted all stupid during the early Tobi scenes and became serious after Deidera's death especially with how ruthless he was portrayed during Kushina's delivery and later on in the series and the fact that Akatsuki woukd have won sooner. Also, him telling the kage that he was going to start a war instead if taking the villages by surprise was idiotic.

Talk no jutsu is like a therapy session for Obito
I thought you forgotten about this series. Well about Obito I really let the fan base hatred of him influence my thinking back when it was first revealed. But after doing a couple of rewatches I really liked his character and learn it's best to form your own opinion on a character
Correct
That's true. Same thing happened to me with Itachi. I let the fanbase love for him influence me. Now I know he is actually a pretty bad character.
@@watashiboku7225 Yeah well Itachi is literally one of the most overrated characters in the anime franchise.
@@braindead3919 that's very refreshing to hear from another person. I always feel very alone with that opinion.

I remember rolling my eyes when manga readers were like “YO YO, YOU WILL NOT BELIEVE WHO TOBI ACTUALLY IS.”
He may have cheesed after the mask reveal but he is definitely deserving of the tile of being the true leader of Akatsuki.
I love the fact that Tobi was so obviously Obito, we were seriously doubting that it was him before the big reveal.
I have been waiting for this! Obito is one of my favourite characters in Naruto and I hope Tekking will do him justice.
It's Tekking I am sure he will.
Hope the salt at the beginning didn't trow you off 😂
@@Tri2TT Naw, it was fine.
Naruto is extremely hypocritical tbh
@nandish senpai when he thought Hinata died, he did give into the pain
The only thing tragic about Obito. Everyone told me tobi was him. I was like naaa no way its that cheesy.
If Obito was the main Antagonist then it would be interesting for the story to end with the obito and kakashi fight
Kakashi: he will never go down the same path because he’s got me.
Sasuke: do I mean nothing to you?
I have a feeling Itachi's video is going to be over 2 hours long....................& I will watch every minute of it.
I'm actually beginning to like all this Naruto talk coming out of Tekkings mouth. #Talk No Jutsu
Barry awoke the Mangekyo sharingan, and the kamui of all things.
By the way, Obito is my favourite Naruto character.
100% worth it!
the "he wasnt the true villain" in my opinion doesnt make obito worse, or as in hes a great villain, despite not being the last one
Literally. And naruto thought haku killed sasuke and still didn’t kill haku and suppressed the kyuubi chakra.
@@jeremiahstallworth3347 wasn’t there a whole thing of Uchiha having stronger emotions than every other clan
@@seunglee6990 true but that would imply that every Uchiha only acts on emotion but they’re clearly capable of using reasoning like Itachi for example. I like the in story commentary how madara is still considered a bigger threat over kaguya due to the actual battle experience. You have an all powerful rabbit goddess. But her fighting skills are worth shit. If madara attained the same level of power the bigger threat is madara.
Obito is honestly a pretty interesting and tragic character, really makes you feel bad for him when you learn about his back story.
One of my favorite RUclipsrs making a video on one of my favorite Naruto characters! Hell yes
Madara tried to pull an Aizen when he reveled to Obito that "it was all part of his plan" it just didn't feel right
Ig the true Aizen was Black zetsu
Aizen pulled a Madara Actually
Woah, he does not kill Rin, she commits suicide. She used his attack to commit suicide
Tobi is actually the White Zetsu Obito was attached to when he went to save Rin.
Ah, yeah, I was thinking this too
Also known as guragura
Tobi is just obito's persona that he models after the behavior of guruguru zetsu, the zetsu itself isn't actually tobi, tobi is just obito
This comment is like Greek to me.
@@TheOjamaYellow remember when obito murdered the mist ninja immediately after rin died? He was wearing a zetsu then, known as guragura. That zetsu is more of a comedic character and obito modelled his Tobi persona after him. Hope this made it easier to understand.
I'll never forget Obito's Kamui reveal and being like "Well that's broken"
Ren manipulated Kakashi to kill her because she didnt want to become a tool to be used against the village. Obito literally got there when it happened. Madara made sure that he told him too late just so he could push him more on his side. Manipulation tactic still. Dude was twisted.
My favorite Natuto character of all time. Ma sad boi.
Funny how this got posted on May the 4th, Obito is basically Anakin/Darth Vader
A little reminder , that it was not Kurenai ,who dropped the first 'Obito' in the series.
It was Yugao Uzuki (purple haired Anbu ) who was at the memorial stone and spoke to Kakashi :)
(and i admit , i had to google her name first, because i always forget it ^^)
man if someone wants to really enjoy one piece should watch your videos, you give me so much hype
If Orochimaru’s video title isn’t “Orochimaru is a Snake”, you are going to get an angry Barry.
Note: *Is* because he’s still alive.
Completely loved this video the only thing I would like to say is when Obito met Madara he actually had a sharingon he had already placed the rinnegan in nagato's head and he had replaced it with the spare sharingan and honestly I would love for you to do one of these videos on Madara
We all know that you can make a 25 min. video of a character showed in Anime/Manga for 5 second, and still make the video interesting
Same
No. Just no.
My Berry the Brickan plush came in the mail today looks great!
Honestly he stayed longer than he should have. If they cut the death scene a little bit I would have felt more.
His powers were cool and honestly who couldn't figure out he was Obito. The hints were everywhere
You'd be surprised

Obito's name wasn't droped by kurenai... It was dropped by Hayate's girlfriend..i don't even remember her name🤣🤣🤣
Kakashi vs Obito is ond of my favourites
I think Obito shows that no matter what you do, if you come to your senses, you can still have a happy ending
May the 4th be with you too Tekking.
Heartbreaking fact is obito was the first to hold baby Naruto and Naruto held him as died
"plug and play" is my favorite explanation for Naruto's eye problem
Can't wait to hear you talk about Itachi. The Danzo Itachi interactions were the one thing that pissed me off more than the kaguya stuff at the end
Can you explain why, is it because Itachi obeyed Danzo too easily or something
That's the second time I've heard the plug and play comparison for eyes in Naruto the first was from swagkage and I love the comparison
A 40 minute Obito Video?!?
Fuck yeah
What a pleasant gift
his fight scene agaisnt the mist dudes and the one vs kakshi were some of the best in the series
Great video
I just want to say that Tobi and Obito are two different people
Tobi was the white zetsu that helped Obito
12:22 It's Deidara.
When you say it all I hear is "Date-Dara" haha
11:46 It's not the mask that changes Obito's voice to Madara's, Obito was using the same jutsu Yamato used to copy Sasori's voice on the tenchi bridge.
@Tekking101 Matt, I’m so glad that you love Konan as well!
Obito is like one of Stephen King's kid characters gone bad as an adult
Obito is my favorite naruto character
Ah yes, a video about Obito Uchiha- lets see where this goes-
The way it was explained why Obito went along with the plan no matter what was because Madara put some kind of seal on his heart when he saved him.
21:16 Not to mention the fact that Rin was a literal suicide(Tailed Beast) bomb at the time
Yeah i remember that Madara said that Obito got rid of the bomb in the chest the same way as Rin did
Tobi's Voice was White Zetsu, His Madara voice was both of them.
When his mask broke, white zetsu stopped talking hence his normal voice coming back
His elder brother is Obi Wan "HELLO THERE!"
Yeah! Tekking talking about my favorite Naruto character for almost an hour?! let's go!
Simpbito
I think you missed that madara implanted a seal in his heart , that also compels him to continue the plan
I really like Obitos story in Naruto
I just love when obito had long hair he looked so charismatic
Tekking: "This happens alot"
*Only happens 3 times.*
His last moments were still the best!
You underestimate Kamui, Mat. He fully Kamui’d out of the afterlife.
Was just watching the episode where naurto breaks Obits mask a few days ago Tekking you read ny mind!
