I think the oil level sensor can fail in these cars, giving a fault when the level is fine. But also I have found that mine will say “All good, all good, ADD 2L!” As far as the nail, I’d go straight to the tyre shop to get advice/repair.
Actually that is a good price! In Greece the same Service, for my 2000 w210 e200 kompressor with 5,5lt Mobil 1 5w40 & oil filter (Bosch) costs me 120€ (181$ Canadian).
Its way to easy to change the oil yourself and you don't even have to jack the car up and undrain the oil pan bolt. You can easily extract all the oil from the engine bay oil filter housing.
Have you considered visiting Milo Cars on Kingsway for the repair? Cam is great! If you're ever going to give this car up, let me know, local enthusiast as well :)
I have some workshops in mind to check out but thanks for the recommendations. All the updates will be on this channel so you’ll know if it ever goes up for sale :)

lol that place is ripping you off. you should have added at least one liter of oil before running the car again, or god forbid driving it.
