I bought a new 2019 AWD trax and have had no problems with it "so far". 70,000 miles. Mostly hiway and I drive it hard too. Change the oil and filters myself every 5,500 miles. It's been great in the winter time. been threw some deep snow in Northern Mi.

I just got a 2019 AWD premier and am very satisfied with it. Only 26K miles though haha.

I have 96K miles right an extended warranty and have been surprised at how well she has done considering how hard I drive it. It is horribly underpowered and noisy. I’ve had two cam shafts replaced, one turbo something go wrong, the flapper to control the vent from floor odd to eta had to be replaced early on and they had to remove and then scratched my entire dash. They replaced the dash and I think it cost them quite a bit for the part. I had a lady hit me at 40 from behind and she took it like a brick wall! Overall I’ve babied it with regular oil changes and it has been a good, chap at.

I brought my son a 2022 Chevy trax. I also got him the extended warranty to. All cars have their problems. I have a 2012 Chevy equinox. I’ve had many problems fixed. The manly thing it had was oil consumption problem, common problem which GM paid for.
All you need to do is do what you’ve been doing like you said. Baby it, change the oil and any car will be good. Good luck man! ✌🏾

Several issues mentioned are for years up to 2019. I have a 2021 so hopefully Chevy addressed those issues.

Don't get too excited. We have a 2020 with 43,000 miles and it has been leaking a little bit of coolant for a while now. I've had to refill it like 3 times so far. Not major, but something to be aware of. Keep an eye on the level in the reservoir.
As long as you get a Korean one (ours is Korean), it should be alright. The Mexican ones are the ones with most of the issues.

I have a 2019 Trax and basically my local auto mechanic is it's garage. Water pump, ac, knock sensor, battery, 4 other major things I don't remember the names of. The recall arms he talked about but when you go in they say can't fix it too many in line want the same part.

The blower motor resistor and harness should be a recall. With just a Google search, it is RIDICULOUS how many others are dealing with the SAME exact issue and even the same year vehicle as mine (2019 Chevy Trax). This is NOT something that should need to be replaced within 3 years of the vehicle being manufactured. Then, when you try to get the parts NOBODY has them, so what does that tell me? There are way too many going bad and people are needing to replace them. To me, that should be a recall.

mines a 2016, and it went out after 3 weeks of owning the vehicle, had 83,000 miles on it when i bought it... put 1500 miles on it and and the blower quit, then there is a coolant leak.

we have a 2017 trax and have had the smallest of issues that were like a 5min fix. only one time it needed to be towed for a broken coolant hose (probably from the stick we hit earlier that drive)

I have the 2016 Trax. This is literally the worst car I have ever owned. A new part breaks every week. The stupid key broke just trying to close the switchblade.

@howstuffinmycarworks you forgot to mention the issue with the fan blower regulator and the coupling for the blower. There can be a surge in that coupling and regulator burning out both and they both should be replaced if your AC controls stop functioning.

I own a 2017 Ls model and have had most of the issues discussed in the video. I definitely would stay away from at least 2017 and older models.

J.D. Power's reviews of the Chevy Trax rated its dependability as excellent in 2021, with a quality and reliability score of 85 out of 100, and an overall evaluation of 84 once other aspects like the driving experience, resale, and dealership experience are taken into account. No 2022 score is available yet, but should be similar. Chevrolet offers a three-year/36,000-mile basic warranty, a five-year/60,000-mile powertrain/drivetrain warranty, and a one-year/one-visit maintenance plan. Finally, roadside assistance is provided for five years or 60,000 miles.

My A/C stopped blowing cold air yesterday I checked the compressor and the clutch is moving, I also tried putting more refrigerant and did that idk what’s the problem anyone can help me?? Check to see it your cooling fan is still functioning. Mine has went out twice and that usually causes the A/C to stop blowing cold. Also, if the cooling fan is the issue it needs to be replaced immediately.

I had same issue on my 2016 trax. Turns out, the temperature control knob breaks and gets stuck on heat. Its a spring loaded cable and the spring unwinds behind the switch. A good way to check for this is to turn on the a/c and move it from hot to cold. If it feels hot on both, or if you don't feel any restriction when turning the know, then that might be it. Another way (and best way to be sure) is to remove the glove box and look at the white gears on the left hand side, just past the cabin air filter. If you turn the temp from hot to cold, but you DO NOT see the little gear with black teeth turning, then thats your issue.
