Sonic & All Star Transformed (60fps) Curien Mansion (House of the Dead)

- Here's some Daytona Hornet (AKA AGES) gameplay on the House of the Dead Track, Curien Mansion, in Sonic and All Star Transformed, running at 60fps on the PC. Man, I absolutely love this stage! It feels suitably epic in length and there's lots going on in it. Plus, it's based on house of the Dead. What's not to love?
I've upscaled the original 1080p footage into 4K before uploading, purely to benefit from whatever cybermagic 4K RUclips uploads get which seems to stop them from becoming so compressed and pixelated looking after processing (I believe it's to do with the VP9 codec 4K uploads automatically get assigned) compared with how they look if I try and upload a 1080p video. I'm not really intending that this should be watched in 4K, it's just uploaded like this to get a better quality of 1080 and 720p playback. I suspect this is a thing I'll be doing with a lot of my shorter uploads in the future, so expect to see this little disclaimer a lot...

I feel like the original is more scarier than the newly remastered version, just the dark colors and textures in the game and the color in the sky making everything feel so hopeless truly captures the environment I feel like that's what the remake failed in doing keep them dark colors
Two Sega classics in one.
This stage is really cool but I get the sense the developers weren't as knowledgeable of House of the Dead as they were with other Sega games.
Like I can tell the giant spider and winged bat man are supposed to be Hermit and Hanged Man but they along with the zombies in this stage looking nothing like they did in the games. Tower appearing was pretty cool though.
Also yeah I remember that part in House of the Dead where we fought a bunch of clowns around a bouncy house or fought through an underground night club. Classic parts that was.
I think all the HOTD stuff's been intentionally cutesified up to fall more in line with the kiddie friendly aspects of Sonic.
House of the dead in sega crossovers is heavily flanderized to just being "the spooky sega title" because not only is HOTD banned in Germany, it also is just meant to match the tone of the rest of the silly franchises like samba de amigo and sonic (Which is why we have zobio and zobiko and not the protags like G)
I thought the spider was suppose to be "The lovers" from THOTD4 giving ow they look similar in color and form.
@@greenth-mac2550 It is actually the Lovers from THOTD4. I can recognized the small spider spread from the game as well.
hotd is dumbed down to keep the game for kids thats why the zombies and levels aren't as scary

My favorite track too. Never played HOTD. But i thought it was good. Albeit weird. Kinda strange to race in a zombie infested mansion.

@@nathanbyberg I know that. I just think it's weird as a concept. You know. If you heard about a racing competition where there's a race track taking place in a creepy zombie mansion. Wouldn't you be confused? Maybe I'm just thinking too hard on how the individual characters would react to this in game
@@fierdrages6523 : It can be a little weird, but I see it has a unique and very challenging concept. A race in this particular location keeps you on your toes the whole time as there are lots of hazards on the track
That ugly spider scared the hell out of me as a kid. Till this day, it still creeps me out. 0:45
Nice it has the boss references, Hermit Hangedman and tower. Despite tower being a hotd 2 boss. Any other references in it?
Those are the main 3 I picked up on. I don't think I'm aware of any others.
Zobio and Zobiko (From House of the Dead EX, a lighthearted spinoff and the previous Sega All-stars Racing game) have cameos on the stage, such as in the church getting married.

Sadly Im unables to unlock AGES, AI is too cheap
The best thing to do when you're playing against the AI on Expert is if you get an All Star power up, just hang on to it for the entire race and then use it when you're in the final part of your last lap to overtake those pesky CPU bastards.

Do the races and boost races first. The AI cheats yes. But they are the easiest to do. Id get 1st place just fine usually.
Sega Zombie games are more better than Mobile zombie games
