One of the most criminally underrated pieces of lyrical genius ever penned. Perfection.
So true!!
Yes perfectly said
Perfectly stated. A blast from the past that will live always.
My pullout song from the fire service when I retired. Tradition is the fire truck ride out. I had a plan that was better. This song cranked
Buffalo Tom FOREVER!
One of the last songs they played on WFNX before they went off the air. That memory will be seared into my head forever. Many tears flowed that day.
Sad. I felt same with WBCN. Where have all the good radio stations gone?
So miss WFNX. This song represents so much energy I love from that time.
@@kelseymariel2127fallen to corporate greed, "consolidation", and a changing market ( also streaming - where you don't have to remain locked into one "format" or genre while listening ).
WBRU too
YES I remember that as well. It was a very deep time for me.
This song makes me embrace my sadness, makes me happy to let it out. Makes me feel stronger and happy to be sad sometimes. Sad but uplifting at the same time.
Great honest comment.
That is such a perfect way to put it
I ain't happy about sometimes I feel like shit. I rather feel like shit than be full of shit. Suicidal Tendencies. Different than Buffalo Tom but both deep and meaningful
Still love this song 20 yrs later... reminding me of my uni days without a care in the world. 90s music was amazing on so many levels
Almost 30 years man
Yup, me too. 90’s were the best. Classic album
One day you're marveling at the depressive genius of a song - and the next you're living it out.
@@ald7248Amazing comment. And so spot dead on.
one of the best 90s depresso anthems, and that's saying a lot, lol.
Absolutely. Well said.
beautiful
This song was my introduction to Buffalo Tom back in 1992, and I was hooked from then on and love them to this day. It's still so amazing, even all these years later.
No matter how many times I hear this track never gets old - brilliant!
I liked being sad and alone during my teen years. When life was about tangible ideals and romantic innocent images of what life was and meant. Now only captured in tears illicited by those lost moments and innocence, In a dark room, while everyone sleeps, i listen and fewl things i had forgotten i lost so long ago. Staying up until 2am Sunday night to record 120minutes off MTV. Thank you for that
this just took me back.... gah.
Well said.
Thats just incredible
all this song manages to do is remind me of being a lonely teenager during the early 90's - stuck at home watching this video on 'rage'.
YES! me too! Not getting any sex and staying up til 4am watching rage at your parents place
I totally understand you.
Yes...totally
Great comment...
I feel you. was a lonely and confused guy back then. Im still confused but more content. I get more happy when i hear this one than i did. Age will do that to ya
This just makes me ache so sweetly.
So beautiful. A masterpiece.
Brilliant band and tune 😊❤️🌻
I came here after seeing Pearl Jam cover this at Fenway a couple nights ago with BT's lead singer Bill Janovitz. What an amazing performance of a great song! I'm a BT fan for sure now..
Masterpiece.
This song has all the feels ❤ I'm so fortunate to have seen them a couple times. Nothing like this era in music 🎵
Seen these guys in 92, at Melbourne Uni. What I can remember caught the V-Line from Bendigo to Melbs. Had one of the biggest Sunday Sesh's in history at the Clyde Hotel from about 1pm these guys played about 10pm. Fair to say I was pretty fck up, but enjoyed every minute of their performance. Bit of a time lapse after show but recall back on the early morning V-Line Melbs to Bendigo, hit my afternoon tutorial same day at La Trobe Uni same day."Heady Days my man Heady Days'
Lucky you. I think i lost all my serotonin in early 90s. Sadness brings me back to this song unfortunately. 🇭🇲
This song is a timecapsule shooting me straight back to the early 90's! Instant trip down to memory lane from Michigan! I love it!
this remined me of how fn awesome the 90's were. Some great fucking music, it rocked, and can never be replaced
Great when it came out, even better now. One of the best guitar riffs ever.
September 9, 1995 at Pine Knob. Buffalo Tom, PJ Harvey, and Live.
top ten of 90´s rock
some songs just resonate with your soul.......brilliant......any time.
What a tremendous tune....takes me back. Love it!
I love this band! This song brings me to tears everytime I listen to it!
This song stands for the young life and feelings in that time
Still my all time favourite song
Me too!
Great song!!! Wish I could write lyrics like this man.
So it is 1992 again, every time I listen to this. This song is my Time-Machine.
Classic song from one of my favourite bands
Lisa Loeb was doing an Instagram Live last night. Someone asked her covers she liked to perform, and I mentioned I remember her doing this with Bill wayback. She didn't perform the whole song, but she DID start doing a verse!
These guys were excellent!
One of the best songs ever. Cool to hear Pearl Jam honor it.
Can't beat the original though!
Brilliant song!
great stuff.....thanks for the memories...
Buffalo Tom deserved to be bigger. Looks like "Let Me Come Over" got a deluxe re-release so maybe they're being rediscovered.
I listen to this song when I am missing my girlfriend who hung herself , she was only 21, I was 19. I'm 44 now.
RIP CASS
Happy 46th by now? Bummer man
One of the best from that era.
Still fresh, even today. Hasn't aged a day
just keeps getting better......
first song I learned to play. fond memories.
Saw so many shows in Boston back in the day but never got to see Buffalo Tom. Shame. Will just have to see them this year since they are still touring haha.
One of my favourite songs of all time. Still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it, 20 something years later.
Let's make that 30 years...
Still giving all the goosebumps
Bill played this song on my acoustic guitar at an record shop instore gig at Gaslight Records, Melbourne on the Let Me Come Over tour
if you have tears ,prepare to shed them here
Love that Pearl Jam played it and he got to sing it
nostalgia. we used to cover this with my band in the late 90s.
We used to play this song. Love it!
best intro of the 90'
Noooo. Cherub rock intro.
@@dianelevie240 ah yeah! Pumpkins! But this is something different. So sweet
about Time u came to Australia. love this BAND
Best band most folks never heard of.
i love this song!!i love the sound of the guitar at the beginning!!!
love this song, meant so much to me when it came out and still does, wish they got more recognition for the brilliant band they are
Great tune .
@@vicchopin Os anos 90 me dão muita saudade. Parece que naquela época o alternativo conseguia ser pop.
Brilliant
Only heard this a few yrs ago but reminds me of Aust band U am I. This deserves to be a classic in my opinion
it is a classic, imo
She could be my valentine 💯🎶
love this song!
StepMom got this for me 16th bday, June93...
With Jar of Flies
One of my favs from the day...
They say nostalgia is a thing of the past
Nostalgia ain't what it used to be
Great song!
This is the shit that speaks to my soul
Nostalgia
She cut herself from her past 🎶🎶🎶 la, la, la
Simplesmente amo essa música! Que sdd dos anos 90 ! Meu Deus
Toffe herinneringen aan dit plaatje !!!
These guys are from the town I live in/Roxbury, Mass.
Feeling depressed and longing for better times, this didn’t help. Lol. I am so connect to the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. The 2020’s are fucking horrendous.
Epic single, one of the most haunting and its always cool saving up time in between listens, like now. u just never forget that opening electric guitar, u needed the brutality of Nirvana but u also needed this although at the time it was sort of uncool to listen to, funny that.
I don’t think Buffalo Tom were uncool they’re were a well regarded band in Boston and nationally.
Late nights, early mornings... RAGEEEEEEEEEEEEEE... Timeless classic
Even you 90's kids are gettin' old now. Sucks don't it? At least you have a decade of great music. Poor. Millennials.
Right on , got that right 👍
Agreed. It sucks. But always look on the bright side of life ( 😉) ... at the same ti e, life is good that we had what we had....
Sez you! I stopped listening to new music in about 2001. I wouldn't dare to tell someone 15 years younger than me that their music is shit.
Fuck off grandpa!
@e4t662 This 70's kid turns 61 this year, and Buffalo Tom rocks. Standing Room Only is tougher and late night shows are mostly a no go now, LOL! But me and my "90's kid" daughter are going to see these guys in August, 30 years after I first saw them. Keep rocking.
kiitos miettinen ja räkärodeo.yks kauneimmista...
seeing them the other night sure made me feel like a dinosaur when i walked back out into the real world.
no you're just a dinosaur jr.

Sister can you hear me now
The ringing in your ears
I'm down on the ground
My luck's been dry for years
I'm lost in the dark
And I feel like a dinosaur
Broken face and broken hands
I'm a broken man
I've hit the wall
I'm about to fall
But I'm closing in on it
I feel so weak
On a losing streak
Watch my taillights fade to black
I read a thing about this girl
She was a hermit in her world
Her story was much like mine
She could be my valentine
And although we've never met
I won't forget her yet
She cut herself off from her past
Now she's alone at last
I feel so sick
Lost love's last licks
But I'm closing down on it
I feel so weak
On a losing streak
Watch my taillights fade to black
Lost my life in cheap wine
Now it's quiet time
Cappy Dick nor Jesus Christ
Could not help my fate
But I'm underneath a gun
I'm singing about my past
Had myself a wonderful thing
But I could not make it last
I've hit the wall
I'm about to fall
But I'm closing in on it
I feel so small
Underneath it all
Watch my taillights fade to black
Watch my taillights fade
Watch my taillights fade
Watch my taillights fade
Brilliant lyrics.👍👍
thank you thank you thank you
I loved this song right up until Eddie Vedder decided to become a fan. I know it's petty. But I'm gonna stand by it.
Yea I miss the 90’s somethin fierce, but they ain’t never coming back, just like Benny Goodman 😢
Fuckin brilliant...saw these a few times in the early 90’s
Oh the memories.....
🖤
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Had myself a wonderful thing, but I could not make it last
The most heartbreaking line.
renewing my youth, atleast a part of it with a jupiler!!!!!!!!
I hate to be rude but as an old raver from 1988 - now, I loved Buffalo Thom as much as Mudhoney, L7, Ride and many other guitar bands
Rennie turns lactic acid back into water.

❤❤❤
The movie "Tail Lights Fade" took me here!
Where was it filmed seems like the images come from multiple locations..Thank You
Anyone in 2025?????????
wow
💖💖
New album Quiet & Peace doesn't disappoint, go check it out !
Put your painful past behind you, and live your life on your own terms. Check.
A favourite of Richie manics James apparently
Ready for Drowning comes to mind in my opinion
A 90s classic for sure. Sadly, the band no longer stays true to the original studio version when they performs it live - Janovitz dresses up the guitar part with all sorts of silly string bends and noodling around. I wish he could appreciate how utterly perfect that unadorned riff is - because I sure do.
Too bad this cuts out at the end 😣
...but i could not make it last
