Made-in-France-ASMR also sounds really nice while he's whispering. That said, I also like videos where there isn't any whispering because sometimes the words are distracting to me-- but that is not to say that those guys don't sound very nice.
if you want to make a softer sound for the carving, and an easier cut, you could try balsa wood it's very soft but it has a nice sound, not too rough, just a suggestion

The only part that bothered me at all throughout this video is when he'd brush off the chips with his fingers or run his ringers through the carved letters, only because if I did that my hands would be covered in slivers and thats never fun to think about 😂 but overall loved this so much

Just a tip: if you hold the chisel with the beveled side down, you can control the depth of the cut better Overall though, great vid with some nice sounds

My triggers are the way you scratch the wood at the very beginning (BEFORE you start to trace the letters), the sounds of your nails running across the plastic covers, and the sound of you rolling the carving tools across the wood! These are 3 of my FAVE sounds that I wouldn't have discovered if you had not done this video! So thanks!

This piece of wood that I used was very bright and I decided to enhance its colors. I did it just before rendering based on a video sample in which my hands weren't visible. I simply forgot to check how the colors of the other parts of the video changed. Actually my hands weren't red at all.
I love this so much, you can just tell how much effort they put into this. It really made my day better and helped me relax from all the stress thank you
+dotcom123dotcom123 Thanks for your concern :) I know exactly what you mean, but unfortunately in that case there was no way to attach the plank to the table and I really had to hold it with one hand. Otherwise it would slide across the table. I was trying to be as careful as possible and that's one of the reasons why it took me 5 days to make it done, because I carved no more than one letter a day. I assure you that after making this video my hands are completely fine :) Have a nice day!
I learned that the hard way, just last night I was cutting a zip tie and I cut my finger really bad with the knife and I made a pretty bad cut into my middle finger

+Asmrsurge it's surely going to be difficult using a chisel to chunk out the wood. For the initial scooping out you should try a gouge (curved blade).

This piece of wood that I used was very bright and I decided to enhance its colors. I did it just before rendering based on a video sample in which my hands weren't visible. I simply forgot to check how the colors of the other parts of the video changed. Actually my hands weren't red at all.

+dotcom123dotcom123 Thanks for your concern :) I know exactly what you mean, but unfortunately in that case there was no way to attach the plank to the table and I really had to hold it with one hand. Otherwise it would slide across the table. I was trying to be as careful as possible and that's one of the reasons why it took me 5 days to make it done, because I carved no more than one letter a day. I assure you that after making this video my hands are completely fine :) Have a nice day!

+Wei-Chun Hsu Splinters are usually acquired from long cut wood. With small stuff like this and dense wood like that pine, that isn't too big of a problem. Source: I'm a wood jeweler
