I've "watched" this video loads of times, but only ever to help me sleep, so I've never really looked at the screen, especially not later in the video. I absolutely burst out laughing when I finally looked at what you were carving and saw Garfield of all things
I can carve stuff but I carve wood, here are the steps on carving wood: 1. Get yourself some wood (length and width depends on what you want to make so no need to go crazy and buy the biggest thing there is) 2. Get a reference photo on whatever you want to carve 3. Get your trusty hacksaw and take off any vegetation on the wood, moss, leaves etc 4. Get a bandsaw and make a rough replica of what you are making and use a Dremel for details 5. Get a circular saw and start to shape the wood so it’s smooth 6. Finish up any details or whatever is left to smoothen out with hard to reach areas with a small dremel 7. coat it with resin (I always coat mine with resin but you can paint it if you want so no need to go crazy) 8. Finish up anything else 9. Admire your work 10. Frame it or just put it somewhere that it would look nice And there you go the 10 steps of making wood sculptures, now go be creative! :3

It's so funny but my sister who's 20 yrs younger remembers me coming home & teaching us all how to carve sailboats out of Ivory soap bars. Our mom must've used Ivory soap then. She used to buy everything in bulk back then so she must've had a lot on hand. I guess somethings leave lasting memories. That's when families did things together.
This was in my recommend for like a week and I finally decided to watch it. Now that I have I LOVE IT
