I’m 77 and wondering the same thing. Would love to go back in time and ‘visit’ different years of my youth; maybe change a few things only for that time, and for the satisfaction of it, but then come back to the present with everything as it is. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
Yes... I HAVE PLAYED MUSIC IN MY HEAD, ALL NIGHT LONG, EVERY MINUTE, EVER SINCE I WAS 5 YRS. I NEVER HAVE FOUGHT IT... JUST EMBRACED IT.. SO BLESSED FOR THIS ❤
My records are scratched and skip. My 8 tracks won’t play sometimes. My cassettes are brittle and have to be hand rewound. My CDs are old and skip. Still I would rather listen to 50s and 60s music on them than put up with this new sound they call music now. Good art and music are like good people, they live forever.
My Hero passed at 74 this past November, and all I can say is Thank You, Dad for raising us with the songs of your Era. I feel connected listening to these songs and just wish we had more time. I miss you, dad. So very much...
Thanks Leonard ..obviously I like the music ..or else I would not have posted it. As an English boy growing up in the sixties ..we used to love all the American music as well as our own. I am 75 by the way. 🙂
"MAGA"? It's one thing to look back nostalgically at the music of the 50's, but "MAGA" the war cry of Neo-Nazi Klansmen is utterly revolting in this context. The 50's were a great time for bee-bop but not so wonderful for black people being lynched. Does "Making America Great Again" entail bringing back segregation?
I’m 79 and I’m like you where’s the years gone I look back and can’t remember 70,80,90,2000 and especially the 2020. My wife passed way almost 4 years ago after 54 years during all these years including a tour to vietnam 67-68. This music makes me love her and miss more. 16:52
I'm with you. At 89 I miss the old songs. A man by the name of Michael Davis has a book called Your Face Oh Lord I Shall Seek, I think he lives in Burnet , Texas.
Wow I’m 78 & have been luckily married to the same lady for 58 years. She was only 17 when we wed & were told it would never last. This music era has accompanied us for all these years as we have lived through the best times of all. Words don’t seem enough for all these songs & artists that have provided us a lifetime of the best. Thanks to all of them & to these people that also share their stories on this comment section. I am 72 years old, I grew up listening to this type of music artist. 👍 RUclips is a great resource in learning about music artists from the past. Now I have discovered music artists in different countries thanks to RUclips. Anyone can create a RUclips channel and start their own music channel library.
The good times are gone forever. I don’t fit in this modern era anymore. Can’t wait to finally back with all of my bygone loved ones and friends in the presence of Jesus!
Time flies when it's all in your rearview mirror------when we were 16 we wanted to be 21 and on and on......then, one day we wake up in the last quarter of our lives and dream about all those things we never did. God bless everyone here.
I felt in love with a girl in the 60’s growing up with the 60’s and 70’s music. I was too young to let her know I love her. She got married and was invited to her wedding. I cried for months wishing it was me she married. I’m now 73, married with 3 great children, but my heart always skip a beat when I think of her.
Don't beat yourself up , man. Fate has a way of turning the tabless, Good or bad, there;s no sense in crying about it. Live the rest of your life with your children and kepp your memories as just that---, memories. ajh
Thanks for the response, but you all are correct…it’s only a memory now, but I can’t help my heart skip a beat when I hear love songs in the 60s like “sitting in Park” or “ Venus in Jeans” or “Will I see you in September”….
I can relate. I'm young) (46) but when I was 13 I was friends with a guy whose favorite way to flirt was to sing 50s love songs. 🤩😍 It never worked out for us, because he had a girlfriend. I'm.married and in love with my husband, but sometimes I think about hom and wonder what if...
Yours is a symptom of a common affliction. It has been 60 years and she still lives in my heart as she was at 18 years old. I will never understand why girls think being invited to their wedding to someone else works as closure for the one left behind.
I am 75 and grew up listening to this kind of music. I raised my son and daughter in listening to this kind of music and today they are raising our grandchildren in listing to this kind of music. They can name the songs of the 1950s and 1960s along with having a hard time in naming the songs that are being played today. The music of the 1950s and 1960s will never die.
Oh the memories from childhood in the late 50's and 60's. I can still hear my dad yelling "Turn that bloody noise off" Am about to turn 80 so shall cherish these for a little while yet, Thanks for the memories
This music brings back so many wonderful memories. Like magic once again I feel like I'm in my teens. That was such a Happy time in my life. Thank you so much.
I too am right there with you. At 74 these fabulous songs stir beautiful memories of my youthful days in Brooklyn NY These songs still live in my heart and forever will. 🎶❤️
I'm 74 too. I was born in Manhattan, raised in the Bronx, Miami, FL. Graduated at Coral Park High in 1969. Love this music too. So wonderful to sing along and dance to them. Nothing like this music will ever come again. Glad we were blessed to grow up with this music!!!🤗🤗🤗🤗🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳👏👏👏👏
This was time when Music was Music!! Brings back so many lovely memories!! Music will last four ever!! Thank God for all these wonderful talented singers.. May the ones who have gone on to Heaven RIP!! We will never forget You!! 💞💞💞💞💞
As a sailor in the late 50's and early 60's, with only males on board ship, I played these songs on my tape recorder and yearned form my girl friend, later my wife, but still had to eat greasy chow (food) and sleep, stacked 3-4 high in canvas strung to an aluminum frame, all with a bunch of stinking males. When we came back to our homeport, I was a walking, talking, and dancing and sex machine. Overall, these songs increased my life expectancy (now 84) by yearnings to be a good lover to my girl friend and wife. Happy Days At Last.
I was another sailor one the water listening to all of this great special music. I ate the same food and slept in the same racks as you did. I must have enlisted after you I am 82 years old. This music sure helped me when I was on those 7/8 month cruses to WEST PAC on the carrier USS Midway CVA 41 home port Alameda Ca. My wife was with me through my complete enlistment. We have been happily married for 64 years. I was a lucky sailor.
I think we were fortunate to be born in the BEST generation era (post wwII) to enjoy all things good. It was a romantic era. looking back..high school days were truly my "Happy" days!

I have many bad memories of my childhood, all with my Mom, but there was ONE really nice memory I treasure. On Good Saturday, 1959, Mom & I went to Midnight Mass at St Francis De Sales Church in Denver. After, Mom drove us to Reese's Coffee Shop on South Broadway . It was a 24 hour coffee shop, & I had hot chocolate & toast. Can't recall what mom had. As we were waiting for our food, over the speakers from the jukebox, came " Venus " by Frankie Avalon. I can still see & hear it, just as if it were yesterday. i was 12, in 7th grade. Mom was 40 y/o. And it's one of the very best memories of she & I. ------------------MJL< 76 y/o
Good Day 🤗 Michael, your story was so nice to read 😘. Your mom was a wonderful person, maybe just not able to, and show all her love for her family do to her own childhood upbringing. Some say "We parent as we were parented" Michael you are a Terrific Person! Don't kid yourself for a Minute longer! ‼️Keep the tunes playing ❣️in your Heart❤️and thoughts😘. Sincerely, from California
As a child of the 40's, 43 to be exact, I am now 79, loved the music as I was growing up and stil listen to it today. Thanks so much for putting this collection together and sharing it wish us.
I'm still listening and enjoying my mother's music. 🎵 🎶🎶 Ever since I could remember she played the Rock n Roll radio and I later was given her 45's and 78's collection that I cherish. It was always a pleasure to wake up on a early Saturday morning and hear the Hi-Fi blasting some great music. I'm only 62. My Mom will be 82 this year. But I feel like I was a part of the generation with all the great memories and music.
From the early moving roller rinks to high school basketball and all those school crushes, this music was part of it. I’m 76 and still can listen for hours with my high school crush right by my side.

I was apart of this time thru my sister's eyes she was the best part of my life may god bless her she's gone now but as I hear these songs she continues in my heart she dearly loved Connie Francis. Loved the recordings and the pictures. I’m 71 and grew up with music of the 50’s and 60’s. Those were the golden years of the 20th century in my opinion.
My wife suddenly passed away on her birthday as we were getting ready to celebrate it, this was our music, our era.she passed away in May this year. I am sitting here alone listening to to our music and my heart is one big pain, when will this ache end, ?
My wife and I have been together for 62 years. And I am sure one of will feel the same one day. Just remember the good days that you shared and k ow someday you will once again. Peace be with you.
Sorry for your loss. I’m also feeling loss of my dear husband. I always miss and remember him. The Lord is my comfort and hope for a glorious reunion some sweet day. I pray and believe. In the meantime here also is great music for those special cherished memories of your shared love.
I’m only going on 16 but I love this music way more than modern day music. It’s almost all I’ve been listening to for the past 3 years. I feel nostalgic over music way before my time… old soul maybe? I don’t know but this music absolutely rocks. This is the very music I’m going to introduce to my kids and grandkids one day, not the modern bull you hear on the radio these days. Can’t help but appreciate the music from these decades, along with the clothing, cars, furniture, etc.
Speaking of "soul", go check out "mosogotam" for the best collection of extended 60's MOTOWN songs ever (the only problem with 60's music was AM radio kept everything under 3").
I'm 75 and still can listen for hours in the 50s & 60s and I love the old songs from the 50s, 60s, and 70s the best of the years. I used my mom's bedroom radio and I put my hand on the radio and feel the vibration rhythm beat from the radio when I was 8 yrs old till now still do.
I remember hearing Neil Sedaka's "Next Door to an Angel" when I was 9 years old and trying to figure out what he meant by saying that he lived right next door to an angel and he was the luckiest devil in the neighborhood, hahahaha! I took it very literally, thinking he meant a real angel lived in the house next to his and that he was actually a devil--- oh, the innocent imagination of a child! And then you can imagine what I made of the song "Take Good Care of My Baby" by Bobby Vee, thinking it was about an actual infant. LOL!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Even though I didn't understand what they were about, I had every song memorized from my teenage sisters listening to them over and over, and I sang along at the top of my voice! Those were the days.🥰
I too am in my mid 70’s. These were the songs and artists we grew up to. Later, it was the “folk” era, The Beach Boys and “car” era, followed by the Beatles and the British Invasion, and so on. Great and awful music in each era. THESE are just a few of the greats. I know because I was a struggling musician from 1965 to the 1980s and of course we covered many of the greatest of the greats.
those were innocent times and we all miss them so much-----tech is a double edged sword--------if it weren't for tech then we wouldn't have RUclips and everyone around the world sharing their beautiful memories of those innocent, happy times. God bless everyone here.
To hear Music is one of the few things that is cheaper now than it was in the 50s,we had to pay to hear each record on the Juke box or buy the record as you had no music stations on the radio only in the evening. We are so lucky that the song were so good that they will be played for ever and with good old you tube we can play the music as often as we like.
I'm 77 next year 60 years since high school graduate love the music thank you isn't funny how we can sing along with all these great songs but today nobody knows there songs like we did nobody even knows today what's the number 1 song thank you

My condolences for the loss of the love of your life John. You must have many great memories...so I am glad to help them along with the music. Take care my friend.
Remember one thing: Old songs are like little houses where our hearts once lived. They were the soundtrack of my life. ( I'm 77 and recognize every one of them)
I'm 75 years old in a matter of weeks and these remind me of my innocent, safe childhood. Summers and we were out playing all day sometimes skipping meals. Our friends were genuine and didn't compete for material things. Happy Memories of Halcyon Days NEVER to return. Thank you for sharing and allowing me to wallow in reminiscing of my Childhood ❤❤❤❤🏴🇬🇧🏴❤️🌹👍🌟
I have so many albums from this era thanks to my folks leaving me their collection. Everything from Classical to Big Band to Motown to 50's and 60's rock and roll and easy listening.. 70's folk and vocalists like Gordon Lightfoot and Jim Croce. I remember them dancing in the living room and singing to one another while gazing lovingly at one another. Life was less than perfect, but those times for me were bliss. RIP Mama and Daddy. Thank you for leaving me a wonderful legacy. I miss you but I can reach back to those times with just a song.
Thank you HdWarrior ..for the so positive comment. Our musical memories are the tapestry of our lives and those who have passed before us. Take care !!

I’m 77 and wondering the same thing. Would love to go back in time and ‘visit’ different years of my youth; maybe change a few things only for that time, and for the satisfaction of it, but then come back to the present with everything as it is. Wouldn’t that be lovely?
I'm 76 and still remember the lyrics. We had the best music and lived in the best times. God bless all here.
God bless you too x
Just a magnificent collection of great old music. The best our generation had to offer. Todays music insults my ears.
Oldies song is the best.
I’m always wishing for a Time Machine that all of us in our generation can go back to that good old days 🤔😊😎❤️
Yes... I HAVE PLAYED MUSIC IN MY HEAD, ALL NIGHT LONG, EVERY MINUTE, EVER SINCE I WAS 5 YRS. I NEVER HAVE FOUGHT IT... JUST EMBRACED IT.. SO BLESSED FOR THIS ❤

beautiful clean music , pure talent , class acts , todays entertainers could take a lesson from yesteryear
No kidding!
Amen, AMEN. Should've passed a law outlawing any new after the 70's or early 80's. Cause any after that are crud.
I am 71 and this music is my life. I can see my life played out in these songs. It went by so fast. It makes me want to go back and see it again.

It was better back then.

Spot on
I miss 50 and my school and the sings
I am 74 years old and I just found this as I was wondering what you think of this music 🎶. Thanks for the memories... GOD Bless us all...MAGA 🙏
Thanks Leonard ..obviously I like the music ..or else I would not have posted it. As an English boy growing up in the sixties ..we used to love all the American music as well as our own. I am 75 by the way. 🙂
What the hell does MAGA have to do with this music
You can't fine better music anywhere den 50's and 60's
Love it im 75.
Takess me back to the good old days
I'm 74 and this is my life passing me by, where did the time go?
I am 72 years old, I grew up listening to this type of music artist. 👍 RUclips is a great resource in learning about music artists from the past. Now I have discovered music artists in different countries thanks to RUclips. Anyone can create a RUclips channel and start their own music channel library.
When I was 13, I loved H.O. trains and this music, I still do. Your ears won't lie to you.
My grandgirl is 13 in Feb 2025...she loves this music....❤❤
I'm 74, the good ol'days. Our grandkids don't know what they missed.
I'm 71 years old and I still love to listen to the Solid Gold Oldies on my radio on Waynesburg radio station on Sunday nights.
The good times are gone forever. I don’t fit in this modern era anymore. Can’t wait to finally back with all of my bygone loved ones and friends in the presence of Jesus!
Sorry to hear you feel that way Missing ..we all get down at times ..but we have our memories to keep us going. And music helps !! Take care !!
I agree 100%. This modern era is totally Jacked up. In more ways than one.

Time flies when it's all in your rearview mirror------when we were 16 we wanted to be 21 and on and on......then, one day we wake up in the last quarter of our lives and dream about all those things we never did. God bless everyone here.
that we do start living in our past - it was a good place back then
I felt in love with a girl in the 60’s growing up with the 60’s and 70’s music.
Live the rest of your life with your children and kepp your memories as just that---, memories. ajh
Mine was Leslie
The music of the 1950s and 1960s will never die.
you are right: my story is the same. in fact my High School band is playing the 60's music. We are really lucky !!!!
I don't have a stereo or CD now, and so RUclips is my way to hear all my favorite songs.

A great comment Richard ..thank you !! :)
The tunes we love to listen to, are fuel for our spirit. Happiness in a song is food for the heart.
At 73 these songs still give me the chills.
Thanks for the collection.

I love these old songs. They're absolutely wonderful. Today's youth with their noisy rubbish don't know what they're missing.
It depends on when you're early teen years were on what you think is the best. For me the 60's was the best. I'm 71 years young

It was always a pleasure to wake up on a early Saturday morning and hear the Hi-Fi blasting some great music. I'm only 62. My Mom will be 82 this year. Roller rinks? Northridge Valley Skateland. And prior to that, Rainbow Roller Rink, Van Nuys.

Any think BEFORE the 80's is the BEST Music, I'm now 66 yrs young ❤

I too am in my mid 70’s. These were the songs and artists we grew up to. Later, it was the “folk” era, The Beach Boys and “car” era, followed by the Beatles and the British Invasion, and so on. Great and awful music in each era. THESE are just a few of the greats. I know because I was a struggling musician from 1965 to the 1980s and of course we covered many of the greatest of the greats.
I'm crying while I read these comments as I relate to them all
those were innocent times and we all miss them so much-----tech is a double edged sword--------if it weren't for tech then we wouldn't have RUclips and everyone around the world sharing their beautiful memories of those innocent, happy times.
So true Chris !!
I am 73 and singing along with every song, what a blast from the past, longing for those times, thanks,Theresa
