I bought some polyester canvas on Amazon. I just measured the canvas board and cut out the poly canvas a couple of inches bigger all the way around the board. I then wrapped the canvas board and glued it on the back.

How did your canvas pics turn out? What kind of paper did you use?

That’s nice. That’s pretty cool that you can put a piece of the design back on canvas and repress. Learn something new everyday. Thanks Marilyn.

Thanks for the tip on reducing air bubbles. I have not tried subbing in color on canvas boards. By the way, that shirt is really blinging!!!

This must be your 15x15 heat press. I can see where it would handle a much larger variety of projects than the little one. Would you mind sharing the details on it so I can take a closer look at it online? Thanks.

This is the one I used in the video amzn.to/3xCMnQV but I bought it quite some time ago and it is not available. You can still check it out to see what it was. There are several others on Amazon very much like it. The most recent one I bought was a clamshell and it is 16 x 20 inches. amzn.to/3W1c7QZ There are much more expensive ones on the market if you are looking for a workhorse of a machine, but I have been happy with mine. I also use the HTV Ront Autopress a lot and it is 15 x 15. You cannot set the pressure on it though. amzn.to/4aQHl25

What are you looking for when you check the results of Pre-Heating other than possible small bubbles? Will the canvas texture show through evenly across the whole board? And, is this specific to a canvas board or any canvas?

I only use Canvas Boards for this process. If you use one of the wrapped canvases, it's hard to get good even pressure even when you stuff something under the middle of the wrap. You could remove the frame to do this and then staple it back. I preheat the board to remove moisture. Then when I put the thin film on, I'm looking for it to stick to the entire board. And the texture does show through across the entire board. I do use the super thin film. I didn't have as good of results with the lamination pouches that are thicker.

Thank you for doing a new canvas video.
I am trying to put photos on canvas. I am using A-sub 120, A-Sub 125 paper.
I’ve had a lot of ghosting trying to get the temp right.
What did you mean by placing a tile over the canvas it wasn’t in video.
I really like the thin laminate I purchased the laminate from the link from your first video. I later tried the 3m laminate and didn’t like it at all. The 1.5 m laminate works wonderful!!

Sometimes the canvas board will hump up in the middle front he heat. When it does, you can put something heavy on top of it as soon as it comes out of the press and then leave it there until it complete cools. This can help straighten it out a bit. I wonder if your sublimation paper is shifting a bit when you either tighten the platen down or when you are lifting it up. You might try putting a piece of parchment paper over it and then a teflon sheet over it to get it to stay in place. Let me know if you find a good solution.

Very nice. Thanks for the tip on redoing a section of an image. Did matter how long you waited to do it?

Thanks for the video! I'm having issues with the vinyl not adhering to the creases in the canvas. When i press the prints the creases show. Any suggestions?

    • @MakingwithMarilyn
      @MakingwithMarilyn  Год назад +1

I didn't use any vinyl on mine, but are you getting creases or wrinkles in the lamination film? If so, then your film might not be stretched all the way tight when you press it to the canvas board. And are you using the canvas boards versus the stretch canvas panels?

I'm using clear htv for cotton fabric instead of laminate which is similar and flat canvas board. The htv has minor bubbles. Press the image. The canvas has these weird creases almost like a weathered look which I don't want.

    Did the canvas warp?

It bowed up in the middle very slightly. Not much at all.
