      @swiggityswootyimcomingtost8938 2 года назад +126

      @Son Of Rabat A lion pride is a sisterhood, meaning if you beef with one of them you beef with all of them. There can be up to 12 lionesses in a single pride. The lionesses also live with the pride their entire lives. The lionesses are the landlords and the male is just on lease. However, sometimes they cancel his lease along with him. I really don't think a lone male lion stands a chance against a bunch of angry females.

    • @John-it2db
      @John-it2db 2 года назад +21

      @@swiggityswootyimcomingtost8938 That’s completely the other way around theirs a reason why without male lions their is no pride and their is a reason why if a male lion leave the pride the remaining lions will suffer. The more male lions the stronger the pride the males are made to protect the pride and to hunt big prey that will feed the pride and keep the pride healthy without the males the pride will slowly die off

    • @cu5864
      @cu5864 2 года назад +73

      @@John-it2db Actually, that's incorrect. The more male lions the more mouths to feed. That's why when male lions mature they're forced to leave the pride to avoid incest and them hogging all the food while being less effective at hunting. Male lions ARE essential to a pride, but the pride is strongest when it has more females than males.

    • @daniel_sc1024
      @daniel_sc1024 2 года назад +58

      @@John-it2db That simply is not true. The average pride consists of two to three mature lions and five to ten lionesses and their offspring. The lionesses do the majority of the hunting; although smaller than lions, lionesses are faster and better at stalking because they blend in (a lion's mane doesn't blend in as well). Due to their bigger size, however, lions are better at taking on the larger game such as Cape Buffaloes. The lions most important role is protector of the pride, fending off other lions from taking over the pride, since new lions' first order of business is to kill all the existing cubs so they can mate with the lionesses.

      @@lifeismusikmusikislife4684 You have not watched proper videos about male lions enough to know that it was not gentle... it starts out like this until it gets rough... sometimes it can cost the life of the cub since these are just animals and do not know their own strength... it's actually concerning when you see a male lion going after and *playing* with a cub, it must be monitored at all cost...

    • @Crunchkycrizipy
      @Crunchkycrizipy Месяц назад

      @javadbahram795 I think you underestimate their intelligence, lions recognize their own strength and can keep it in check when theyre around their cubs. Its why lionesses can carry their cubs in their mouths. The father was being gentle, he was just batting the cub around. The cub didnt want to play anymore so the mother stepped in. If he was being "not gentle" the cub would have been nearly killed, but we clearly see that it was fine.

      @javadbahram795 Месяц назад

      @@Crunchkycrizipy And you're overestimating their intelligence... the mother carries it in its mouth based on its instincts, as they are the ones designed to take care of the cubs, not the father. You can easily tell when you watch lion pride videos where the father pretty much ignores the cubs. They are known to play with their prey as well, like till its over and they kill it later. The mother senses discomfort and even danger of their offspring based on that instinct and react to the situation they are in. Since we put emotions and whatnot in everything, we get lost in our perception of things and attribute human characteristics to them.
      In this video, the lion was clearly messing with the cub and annoying it, and the cub made noises as a sign of disturbance because that was its only way of protecting itself and the mother stepped in to stop this annoyance.

      You're wrong on how lions become kings. The lion king would banish his male cubs once they are teens in fear of them overthrowing him and those banished male lions would return to the family as adults to fight the father and overthrow him.

    • @KibatheMalinois
      @KibatheMalinois 2 года назад +83

      @@crimsoncourt9354 But it all starts at a solid foundation my friend, a lion male kicks out his own offspring to prevent inbreeding in the pride, those teen lions need to go out in the Savannah and kick some other non relative males butt once they get older so they can get prides of their own. Now if that cub is not confident in his ability or was raised to be a weakling then he is pretty much screwed.
      The dad is engaging the cubs "defensive drive" similar to what you would do in security K9 training. You have to be able to engage the right drive to get the required result which dad obviously did perfectly. I suggest you watch some videos training Belgian Malinois/Dutch shepherd/German Shepherd puppies. You have to pretend like they hurt you or you are injured. It builds up the confidence of the puppies/dog. I work with these dogs so I kinda get what it's about.

It happened to me once, either in 1997 or 1998, as I recall, at the Nairobi Animal Orphanage, here in Kenya, in East Africa. My body went cold. I don't even know what triggered the lions into roaring all at once, but it's scary. A Kenya Wildlife Service warden sprinted at me from some distance away, anxiously asking me in Kiswahili, "What happened?! What happened?!" ("Ni nini?! Ni nini?!"). I answered him in Kiswahili too, "Sijui ni nini" ("I don't know what it is").
      Even the Kenya Wildlife Service warden was visibly anxious and perplexed, and he looked like an experienced guy to me.
