  • We’re called to be holy and set apart from the world in all areas of life. This week, guest speaker and Lead Pastor of Harris Creek Baptist Church Jonathan “J.P.” Pokluda reminded us through 1 Thessalonians 4 that when we act on sexual desires outside of God’s design we end up in places we never meant to go.

guilt over sin is what turns people away from Jesus. Encouraging the pursuit of a relationship with Jesus is what makes sin and harmful behaviors fall away. He loves you and doesn't want you to do something that is harmful to your body, mind and spirit. If you are wholly focused on Jesus your life will reflect that. We cant try to rid ourselves of sinful behavior and then come to Jesus. Come to Jesus and He will separate you from your sin, that is the point of the cross! Come broken, come addicted, come ashamed, come sick, come dirty, come depressed, come anxious, come drunk, come high, whatever state you're in and cry out to Jesus and He will meet you exactly where you are and pull you out.

I really appreciate when pastors deliver concise messages that get to the heart of the matter quickly. It helps me stay engaged and better absorb the message. While I prefer when pastors are concise, I understand that some take longer to get to the point because they are passionate and want to share as much insight as possible. It’s clear they have good intentions and are dedicated to their congregation.

This is one of the best sermons/lectures I have ever heard. Genuinely amazing from start to finish. The points made are spot on and so helpful. Jonathan Pokluda is an amazing man and God is truly doing amazing things through him. 🙏🏻

Well said and inspired of God.
Hopefully more will realize that rationalization to sin in any form is a tool of Satan to keep us down, miserable and imprisoned.
God and his word set us free, He gives strength beyond our own ability and can take away unrighteous desires and addictions as we turn to Him and call upon Him with all sincerity . He hears and answers our prayers and is in the details of our life with open arms to help.
Sin imprisons us and repentance ( change) and God set us free.
Ask and ye shall receive knock and it will be opened to you.
    🙏🙏
