I remember DIY'ing fishnets into tops back in the day. Our local Dollar Store (pre Dollar Tree) had them in every color imaginable. They went great over a black bustea. Or if you were daring enough, a simple black bra 🖤

Just found your channel, I'm a 57 year old german girl who is finally living it. Only took 43 years to find my way back to myself after my mom forbade it as a teen, my ex not just having a stick but a fencepost up his butt and not wanting my kid getting a hard time in school cause his mom is "weird" and finally debating for 2 years whether i'm too old to start again. Mom is dead, dumped husband, kid moved out...decision made... it's time for ME and my 🖤! The music has always been there for me and here i am now making shirts and gothing up my apartment. You're never too old for anything, you may have to do it a bit differently but you can still do it! Love your vids!

Perfect! Just remember to always cut a little less than what you intend, you can always go back in later but you can't undo a cut. Never cut the seams (instant shirt death), cut the strips about the width of your index finger or no smaller than the width of your pinky and when you stretch the strips to create the natural hem - be gentle. I've gotten way too excited and ripped a strip in half.

I always use these shirt weaves to spruce up an outfit.
It's amazing how a quick weave can be such a game changer.

This is really a beautiful weave pattern. I do a lot of DIY with cutting/weaving, but haven’t seen this pattern before. I’m definitely going to try it on something I have sitting in a drawer.

OK... you are tempting me. I have a couple of black knit A-line dresses and one of them has a turtleneck. Because of your DIY I am starting to get tempted to do your method on a turtleneck dress. Does the slashing work well with stretch knit fabrics? Or does it have to be a cotton t-shirt fabric only? 🙂

Yessssssss. Thank you so much for doing this! I bought one of your turtlenecks and have been cherishing it because I didn't want it to wear out before I could recreate it. XD. The only difference is the design goes down the entire front of the torso, which is just divine, but I'm sure i can figure out the rest as I couldn't quite get how you were doing those twisty bits until now! :) Thanks so much darling!

Gorgeous! I just made a similar top. I love this. I would love to try this on a turtleneck top like this. I have only done long sleeved tops non turtleneck. I would like to try on tank top in the middle as well. Thank you for sharing ❤️
No worries! Turtlenecks require a little extra maneuvering to align the seams and get an even fold than the other tops but other than that they're a treat to work with. Happy weaving!
Ha ha ha I tried this design on a shirt and ended up with a garment that looked a little like I lost a fight with a racoon!!
