Great question! Cotton or cotton/spandex blends are what I'm mostly using, but recently I've been experimenting with very stretchy nylon and spandex type fabrics which work really well too. Try to go for soft fabrics with some stretch, but not every fabric will work because of the weave of the fibers so do a small cut somewhere inconspicuous first to make sure it doesn't fray.

I find the ladder weave really pulls in the fabric, especially if you do it a few times.😊
