      2 things:
      1. He planned to do this from the get go, knowing it would make good entertainment and that a Shark wouldn't turn the wager down or they'd lose face.
      2. We already knew there was no way he would go with Kevin. Rarely does an entrepreneur favor Kevin when there are other deals on the table.

      Also, if there were no chance of rewards in some shape or form, it wouldn't be called gambling, would it?

Right now the biggest shoe stores don't even carry them in store you have to enter raffles and wait for the drop dates which skyrocket the shoe price. Most Jordan's are sold out in all sizes within a matter of hours and triple on the re-sell market. Not sure how it would be with golf shirts but if it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

    They ain't wrong. Retailers may help you get more sales. But the negatives can seriously outweigh your profit margins.

    • @arukakirigiri5055
      @arukakirigiri5055 2 года назад +1

      That's not even the worst part. The main issue is that going retail cheapens the product.
      Just like Mark Cuban said, Jordans are valuable only because it is desirable.
      It is desirable because it is released in limited amount on certain drop dates.

      Do you play golf? I thought I would never until I start buying golf apparel. It ain’t cheap. So his markup something unique like this would work. Valuable advice. 129 maybe pushing it but 99 on a limited drop certainly reasonable in the category. He found the high paying niche.

    That was a lot of fun at the end. Robert should have asked for 5% more if he made the putt.

  • @jericcarino
    @jericcarino Год назад +7

    He framed the challenge excellently. He prefaced it with "You're a golfer, right?" essentially saying if you're a real golfer, I'm sure you'll sink this putt. Saved himself 5% doing so. However, having Robert lose may not bode so well for him because you pretty much have that reminder to Robert that he lost 5% on your company from the get-go.

    I don't agree with the drop model, what mark was suggesting. It's good to not sell out every time you sale, because when a customer wants it, they can buy it and that wont limit sales compared to selling out constantly after drops, and missing out on so many customers, who want it. Obviously companies like Nike do limited drops, though that's a minimal of their profits, and become limited edition products, whereas most of their profits come from their normal products.
