Rokblok is still going to this day, generating around a 5 million dollar net worth and securing other investors and endorsements with music celebrities. Good to see them doing well.
No, it really isn't. The product isn't only a gimmick, it's a scam lol. They're well known to damage records, and the playback quality is absolutely atrocious -- unlistenable. It can't maintain a consistent speed around the record, so the audio is badly warped. It's clear he used a percussion track in his demo to hide the pitch warping.

The most impressive inventor by far on the show. The fact he taught himself electrical engineering by using RUclips alone? That is beyond admirable what an icon
There’s no way this guy invented this. I bought one of those in Japan shaped like a van. I also bought a tiny turntable that could also work with batteries, was smaller than a lunchbox and could be played flat or hung on wall and play at 90 degree angle. And that was over 20 years ago. I call that guy a fraud for saying he invented that.
That is one crazy deal! Congrats to him! 👍
The rokblok isnt new; old school DJ's in New York had a small red truck that did this exact same thing. They used it to look for samples in record stores. Q-Tip used one for decades.
This is awesome! I inherited a bunch of vinyl but don’t have the equipment and don’t want to spend the money on all of it or give up the space.
RokBlok will destroy your vinyl. You can get a decent record player for the price of this crap.
I can see this guy loves to work with what he is doing.
What's equally impressive in this episode to go along the amazing product and entrepreneur is the brilliant deal that Robert came up with, it was a 10 on all possible parameters
Downright fantastic business problem solving 💯

Stupid idea
Not really. I mean what fool would pay 20 bucks for a record at Walmart that can be purchased on eBay for 3 bucks
Wow the fish getting offered a royalty by a shark is like completely out the shark tank matrix CRAZY
If anyone is wondering, RokBlok has gone on to make over a million in revenue, generating about $200k for him.
"you just turned yourself into an employee in your own invention" lol
This guy is right. The vinyl market has more people who want the quirk of a record player than audiophiles. You know this because of all the $100 record players that audiophiles wouldn't be caught dead with, because it apparently "sounds bad" and "damages the records"
That's because all the new people getting into record collecting don't know any better, and they see a turntable for $70 -$100 and that's about all they can budget, allowing them to grab some records too, without realizing they've just been had by the retailer. Crosby pushers aren't your friends.
@@pabloplato Audio-Technical is good for the low market with the LP60x, but those suitcase players are horrible
@@mr.mallard2522 Audio Technica. But I prefer having pitch control/counter weight/anti-skate in addition to being direct drive. Anything else that's modern is just making do until you know better.

"You just turned yourself into an employee"😂😂
This product sounded amazing until I saw that Audio-Technica was re-releasing a limited run of the Sound Burger. It's actually a great space to be in.
Biggest problem this product has is the speaker rotates in a circle. If you truly are an audiophile, this will greatly reduce the quality of the sound produced, you want your speaker in a stationary location.
Yeah, it's garbage to make money off of clueless people.
Love that Mr wonderful always lets them hear the other sharks
I swear robert gives the best offers on sharktank, never trys to rip someone off
He got the guy figured out. He's an inventor and wants to jump on the next project asap.
This so great. Amazing invention. And Kevin's an audiophile - who knew
Entrepreneur: I have had 200 million dollars in sales over 5 years
Barbara: it’s way too early to invest, I’m out
Really like the guy, seems clever and really has amazing ethic to get things done, but I don’t believe the product makes much sense. No one is going to lug around a big vinyl to use it outside. But still is impressive.
first i thought he messed up by being so honest about his situation, but then it turned to be the factor that gave him his dream deal. sweet
These aren't new - I sold these in a gift store in the 1990s.. little Volkswagen bugs that went around on a record
These have been out since the late sixties
He is correct about analog
Nuff respect for this brother. I live in the US, but my reggae vinyl collection will be shipped to me in early 2023 and I gave away all my speakers, amp, etc when I emigrated. I'm going to buy this product when I get my records back. Yeaaah Maaaaan.
This already existed, I saw one probably 20 years ago, looked like a little car or something, drove around the record (no Bluetooth.) He really should have been transparent about that, and he would know.
Also, I got so excited, I have that same stereo he brought!
Beautiful lighted display, looks awesome in the dark, will keep it forever : )
Records are very relaxing and good for your energy, don't buy a crappy system if you're gonna get into it.
Yeah I remember them. Little buses that broke your records. Just like this thing, apparently
Yeah, everyone is saying how brilliant he is but this is an old idea. All he did was take it to China to have them reverse engineer it and add Bluetooth.
Funny thing about this deal is that it actually went bankrupt after the first month.
Dude is super smart and had a answer to every question thrown at him , me personally I love rock block I’m actually able to dj on it
I got extremely lucky!!! I can't even believe it.. I found a RokBlok in a church thrift shop for $3- it is fantastic ... especially after looking up online that it's $99 retail... there's a market!! I own about 1k albums and always buying
1k and you’re using this?!?!
You don't care about your vinyl then.
This isn't the first, maybe the first with the BT feature but not the first or first rechargable. They made this exact design player back in the 60s/70sthat was a VW hippy bus that worked the exact same way but no BT.
I like the look of the wood block design on this though
I had one in the 90's. Looked like an ice cream truck called the "Hokey Pokey Sound Machine". Sounded like trash.
Such an incredible offer and a great choice for him!
*Really smart. And the guy self taught himself electrical engineering, that's amazing*
I think this one really has a potential hope they work this one out for real together.
this was filmed a long time back
Lol. Scammer
It is a fifty year old product
Wow what a great offer , the guy must be stoked .
Robert didn't make this deal after all.
I don’t collect vinyl but I’m tempted to buy a rokblok just to support that guy.
Very creative! Brownie points for that. Records are delicate. Putting a rotating device right on their surface does not sit well with me.
Awesome. This is what’s called “thinking in first principles”.
This is a clever idea. But it's certainly not new. I saw this exact same thing many years ago at a Beatles convention. In that case, the player was designed like a little van that drove around the record. Since this was years ago, there was no Bluetooth. Short of that, it served the same function. Now: I'm not saying that this guy stole the idea. It's quite possible that he conceived it entirely with no prior exposure to it. My point is simply that this kind of thing has been around for many years.
He did say his patent was on the bluetooth aspect. So great for him
The Bluetooth is an important addition, plus that van damages the record severely, and by the design of the wood box, it doesn't look like it does.
Loved his presentation, but this is NOT the first product like this. There's a product that's been made in Japan since the 70's still in production today called The Record Runner...
"World's first"
They had little cars that did this 40 years ago 🤣
