@@NorthwestCameraCo I was surprised that the RF mount wasn't more of a priority since Red cameras seem to be a significant target market for the SP3 lenses.
The NiSi set is very different in terms of look. So hard to compare them in a 1:1. They are both micro primes but the Athena’s come in PL which is great. And their look is much more modern and sharp with the Colibri having more of a softer vintage approach
These sp3 to focus really close. And weirdly the full frame panchro classics have even closer focus. Still insanely good on FF. If shooting s35 both sp3 and Colibri will look insanely close, almost macro
They look good…. Except for the COLOR!!! That would be a nightmare in post unless you shoot RAW I guess For my money I would get the NISI Athena’s or Vespid primes and then add “character” in post like david fincher did on the killer that just came out. It would be nice to get the Cooke’s, but the lack of PL mount is actually such a missed opportunity
Yea Cooke already has a PL/I data version of the sp3 and that’s the panchro classic FF. Thats kind of the only way to get into that game where you have data, pl and better focus mechanics. Also in terms of color, we had a few mixed light sources and focal length definitely affects how much of that bleed comes into the shot, gonna try this same test again with a single light source only and a color chart and see if that changes anything. I really think it has to do with the orange backlight skipping off the floor in this test.
Great to finally see some well lit sp3 footage on YT.
Itching to pair these on raptor for a short film as soon as the friggin RF mounts ship.

The colour inconsistencies aren't great tbh especially the 25mm. Apart from that, the falloff and bokeh are nice. Thanks for sharing!
Digging into that 25mm more to see if we messed up somehow
The color inconsistency is wild on the colibri's. Looks like 5 different lenses.
Like a true set of vintage lenses. lol
Hi, what happened to the video that you put out a week or two ago on a new anamorphic lens preview. Just curious why it was taken down…
I saw a bit of that video. I hoped to come back and watch it in more detail. I'm sure they had good reason to pull it down.
@@BenjaminRowlandTV it turns out it was for the Blazar Remus which actually had been out awhile when that video came out...
Great videos guy, I like the content as well as the candor! I think if you dial in the thumbnails, these videos will goooo. Good luck!
Still think the NISI ATHENA is a better value with the 1.9 aperture. How do they compare. Also like the rare filter on the NiSi along with pricing.

@@NorthwestCameraCo thank you.
lol great now another compact cone set to investigate 😂😂. These are very interesting looking
Cookes has less contrast and the close focus is amazing

@@NorthwestCameraCo Awesome. I will definately test them on my dragon

@@NorthwestCameraCo yeah I guess more testing is in order.
for a vista vision coverage such a waste that it doesnt have a pl mount
the flares on the colibri is kinda like the helios and biotar
Yea they are really fun.
No PL mount :(
Silly
Yea just like the SP3
still on Sony sensors everything looks FUDGING oversharped
It is so hard to judge on these horrible Sony colours :P
