Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 in Parliament today. This marked Sitharaman's seventh consecutive budget speech, the most by any finance minister so far. Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the Union Budget 2024 saying that "it empowers all major sections of the society". In February, the Finance Minister tabled the interim budget and there have not been no major reforms or policy changes since then. The Modi 3.0 government's budget allocation is reflective of their focus on four classes - women, farmers, youth, and the poor. In her budget speech, Sitharaman announced that the government will spend 24 billion dollars on job creation over the next five years. Around 1.8 billion dollars have been allocated for education, employment and skilling initiatives.
NDA's key allies in Bihar and Andhra Pradesh received significant infrastructure allocations as well. In a bid to boost India's start-up ecosystem, In a major move, the government has also abolished angel tax. This comes as a major relief for start-ups who raise money from individual investors. I do not know about Bihar but Andhra Pradesh got its budget less than Maharastra and Tamilnadu before and there is no capital for 10 years in AP, This money is to build capital and settle salaries for government executives which were cut down previous years

I'm curious, you want all the things which are privately available or by hardwork/studies and merit lists already existing in government colleges, for free ? For whom ? A 70% student ? Or a 40 % one ? You want IIT grade teaching but IIT grade teaching is possible with only IIT grade students... such students used to be regular students in regular schools but ended up excelling...did they do it for free ? @@kb9880 my reply was solely to the comment regarding IIT specifically, although I'd say we need atleast basic colleges for all, for which taxes and their correct implementation would be needed...with corruption so rampant right from grassroot level, its the implementation that becomes a problem...but atleast we are taking positive steps in the progressive direction after so many decades..something to hope and look forward to in the near future..

As a youngster I don't see a future in this country. Trying my best to get out. I don't care if I pay taxes. But I do care if I don't get to see a return from my taxes. Gov services are not reliable at all. Roads cracked, Bridges falling, Poor education, unreliable hospitals. Soo much tax collected at each step, Where does all the tax money go?
