Young COVID survivor from TN. I still have aftermath of the disease - occasional breathlessness or sometimes anxiety following that. Everytime I listen to this anandabhairavi, I get peaceful and I'm smiling with goosebumps. Be it the great Perumal Murugan or Shyama Sastri, only TMK can do justice. It is so delightful when Jagadamba takes center stage - it is like the entire stage goes into a rapture! Thank you TMK & Subbulakshmi and team!
The thani avarthanam is so soft and pleasing to hear Arun Prakash & Gadam Vidwan have done a splendid job and have actually lifted the concert. The starting of Srojadalanethra at the end of thani is simply marvellous.
What a brilliant performance. Listen to Ananthabhairavi for 45 Mts , by sitting in a calm quiet place . Sri T M K. & his team’ s excellent performance. For both Mr Arunprakash & Sri Guruprasad their fingers proved that it is enough to touch the instrument. The Violonist Akkarai Kumari Subbulakshmi’ s fingers, and facial expression of Anadhabhairavi, expressed very well the Raga , and the Sishya too was apt attention to his Guru’s singing . More than all the starting of the Thaniyavarthanam was superb. My Pranams to all, and happy to see that The Jaghadhamba was present in the stage thro Sri T M Krishna .
Art has been a greatest tool of cultural reform throughout history, once again it is been established by mr t m krishna and team. Perumal murugan lines, tm krishna voice and mesmerizing medieval carnatic music felt like heaven. Sensible effort. Miles to go...,,😀😍👍
28:21 Amazing video and sound engineering coordination, they showed video and sound into stereo speakers [left and right speakers both instruments], little details. All artists are wonderful including on stage and behind the scenes.
Sir, the presentation was very good and excellent in presentation of Anandabhairavi ragam. Will you please sing a krithi Rara ena pilachithe of Mysore vasudevacharya in Kharaharapriya in vilamba kalai.
Many years back my father used to play on harmonium a Marathi Natya sangeet song "Ugicha ka kanta" - set in AanandaBhairavi. Abdul Karim Khan has a 78 RPM record of that song. Later Bhimsen Joshi used to render it, though slightly differently. The childhood memories and inherent beauty of this raaga has made it one of my favorite.
Great Perumal Murugan? Same class as Shyama Sastri, the way the description has been written.. Well done, TMK, for making the works of these relatively unknown writers / lyricists 'great' through your rendition and ways of promoting them.
I wonder why TMK doesn't have Sangeetha kalaanidhi. They did same mistake with MDR. There are more unworthy people who are awarded. My only conclusion is that Sangeetha kalaanidhi has lost its credibility. TMK or MDR aren't meant for these institutions that lack appreciation, for what, a true art is.
hmm, in the past ghatam players wouldn't wear an upper garment , much like every other male percussion player....the kind of heat that is generated from their passionate playing needs venting off man.....you should observe that none of our percussion instruments are played using a stick or a baton...they are all finger (of course, aided by rings on the fingers, for pitch and throw) played --tabla, mridangam, thavil, ghatam...and hence are more difficult and need a certain kind of energy to be played.......thats why in indian classical music, most percussionists historically were men, because the energy needed is immense. Try playing that instrument under those harsh lights for say 3 hours (average length of a public concert), and you will know what i mean:)
Whenever I feel upset stressed I will start hearing this ,this music and TMK sir voice make my day
TMK Sir, Your music has transported me to the other world. Thank you. God be with you Sir.

But why do all ghatam players have to unbutton their shirts!?
Noneed Forthis may be comfort i guess.... We will know only if we play it..
Every ghatam need stomach to get different rhythm...
for friction.. human body offers more friction than the silk shirts
hmm, in the past ghatam players wouldn't wear an upper garment , much like every other male percussion player....the kind of heat that is generated from their passionate playing needs venting off man.....you should observe that none of our percussion instruments are played using a stick or a baton...they are all finger (of course, aided by rings on the fingers, for pitch and throw) played --tabla, mridangam, thavil, ghatam...and hence are more difficult and need a certain kind of energy to be played.......thats why in indian classical music, most percussionists historically were men, because the energy needed is immense.

the sweat flowing down their bodies would negate all friction man !!
