Just the right pace for this amazing krithi (swarajathi, to be precise) such clarity in the lyrics! Only Krishna’s voice can use this pace to its fullest! I listened to the entire krithi with my eyes closed and it was serenely meditative with an ecstatic finish, just as Shyama Shastri garu would’ve intended. After MS Amma’s divine rendition, I am always apprehensive towards any others but TMK did justice to this! Violin was beautiful as well as the rhythms. No disrespect, but the konnakol felt a bit intrusive in a couple of instances due to the meditative lyrical nature of this krithi but that’s just me. Immense thanks to all the musicians and First Edition channel for bringing this to the rasikas!

If we watch the credits at the end we see Christian and Islamic professionals contributing to the technical excellence of this concert. My pranamams to them. Bhargavi, an accomplished artiste in her own right, is seen enjoying and smiling at the expressivity and improvisation of her guru. Ramakrishnan's konnakol is timely and enjoyable. All in all, a most satisfying rendition of Bhairavi, one of the greatest ragas in Carnatic music.
TM Krishna has rendered it very well. But more than TM Krishna, the song itself is a beautiful composition. I have some heard some 80's recordings of this song and all artists have rendered it well. Nothing unique about TM Krishna.

Wish the volume of the violin was not so loud in the lower octaves. The beauty of the sangatis are completely drowned. Looks like the violin has an inbuilt amplifier. Playing on higher octave for lower octave sangatis is defeating the point of it.
Normally, TMK conveys his thoughts via his voice effortlessly. This performance though, despite all the brilliance, it looks like the voice is limiting what he wants to convey.
Yes. His talent is the top most class. Par Excellant. Talent is too small a word. Creative genius at its peak. The only minute lacking could be the Mardavatha in "tone expression". The dryness in tone is little more and hardness of tone is impacting tonal texture of rendering. But otherwise rendering is absolute delight to connoissures and exponents equally. The TMK shall not bring "DMK FEELINGS TO MUSIC. PERIYAR OR NO PERIYAR MUSIC LIVES TO ETERNITY AND IS DIVINE TO WORSHIPPERS. DIVINITY HAS DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS BUT NOT EXPOUSING NASTHIKA VADAM.

This song is not a kriti, it is a swara jati composed by Shyama Sastry. Very difficult to render. TM Krishna has sung it in an amazing way.
